Rumbling Bald Resort

The resort at Rumbling Bald is fabulous. The beach was unfortunately decimated by Hurricane Helene and restoration is still underway. Prior to the storm, the beach was great, including kayak rentals and boat slips, and a playground for the kids. I look forward to the day when it is restored. The pool area and tennis courts, etc are open which was worth going to. The area restaurants are good, too.

Mountain Getaway

Weekend get away with the kids

Rumbling Bald resort was great! Lots to do with the kids at the resort and in the area (indoor pool, miniature golf, beach, hiking, etc). The house has foosball and a dated pool table. The air hockey is broken (severed electrical cord). We did have maintenance issues at check-in but the property manager was very responsive and sent someone out that night. Unfortunately the downstairs was cold and there was no way to make the downstairs warm without making the upstairs way too hot. Would recommend a space heater for the winter months. The house is dated but the photos are accurate. Overall I think the price was fair for what you get and we loved the resort and would come back.

Noll house vacay

Property was nice. Bedrooms were very comfortable and roomy. The only thing I was disappointed in, the living room sofas were not comfortable to sit in. Almost had to have help to get out of them.

a bargain at double the price ...

house is old (built circa 1989) but in amazing shape and VERY clean and extremely well managed but property manager. Plenty of activities for kids and adults all within in walking distance !!! Highly recommend it and we will probably go back next year so don't raise the price even though my title says u should 😎...

Family trip

We enjoyed staying here. The downstairs was perfect for the kids to have their own little get away. Our moms enjoyed sitting on the back deck every morning, visiting with the squirrels and birds. Very relaxing week.

Perfect Family Getaway

Great House for a family to stay and enjoy the mountains and Rumbling Bald Resort! Very clean and beds are comfy! The downstairs bath is only a half bath and the air hockey table doesn't work :(. Living Room is large and we rearranged the furniture for better TV viewing (TV is not a smart TV). Hall bath has the only Tub/shower combo. Master bath is large with lots of counter space! Loved finding a child's rocking chair and crib in the Master Closet! Would definitely stay again!

Wonderful vacation!

The home was perfect for our needs and desires. The boys loved the pool table and basement area to hangout. The home was in close proximity to the amenities. The kitchen was stocked to cook which was a bonus. The only issues we had was the dishwasher did not get the dishes clean and the dryer took several cycles to get the towels dry. We would be grateful to stay at the Noll home again.

Noll House

The Noll House needs to be updated inside and outside! Here are some of the things we suggest need changed. No locks on the master bedroom and bathroom was very annoying. The living room rug needs to be straightened constantly. There is not enough silverware. We bought plastic forks.. The awning on the beautiful back porch leaks. The furnishings are adequate but dated. My husband about flipped over in the recliner. Both chairs are older. The grill didn't work. Nice home, needs TLC!!!

Nice house if your company is more important than amenities

The house is gorgeous and worked great for our small family group, my two brothers and I and one sister-in-law plus three kids age 5, 2, and one month. Dishes and utensils look like a collection from yard sales while the pool table, air hockey, and foosball all seemed like they came from Costco about ten years ago. None of them really worked well but pool at least was doable and fun if you didn’t take the game too seriously. What board games or cards we opened seemed to be missing pieces/cards or had random other stuff thrown in. House itself was perfect and we mostly used it for meals and sleeping. A lot of our time was spent blasting down the twisty back road to the Ingles grocery store and town of Lake Lure. Also made use of the beach and putt putt at the resort. A little too much wrong to get a 5 but really an enjoyable stay if you like your family more than winning at pool.

Worth It

Please read my whole review before you disregard this house. Inside was good from far, but far from good. Screens, fans, curtains, awnings, etc were barely hanging on in some places. The game room is great, but the foosball table was broken and there was no air hockey puck so you couldn’t really play either. The pool cues didn’t have tips, but you could still play. When we showed up there were dirty, wet towels on the dryer and a broken picture frame resting on a chair which isn’t a big deal, but I didn’t want them thinking I did that. Now, all this sounds uninviting, but I would ABSOLUTELY rent here again. The location is perfect, there are stairs down the back road so you can easily walk to the lake or the pool, the amenities were fantastic, the house has PLENTY of room, and the people you work with are SUPER responsive and nice. Checking in was easy and they had all the information we could have needed for our stay. Crazy convenient and spacious. Really enjoyed ourselves. Another thing that I think is worth mentioning (and we could’ve just gotten lucky the week we were there) is that everyone at the pool and lake seemed so nice and respectful. I frequently saw parents and kids helping out other kids when it looked like they needed it. It was just very friendly and family-oriented. The Wednesday night pool party was cute, too.

Relaxing

We enjoyed the property. We loved having the garage to store floats and bikes and paddle boards was awesome and being able to use the resort amenities was also convenient. My father-in-law did want me to mention that the ceiling fan above the dining room table was wobbly and it probably was not a good idea to have a hanging fan (from an electrical engineer’s perspective) in that location.

Noll House review

We found the property was in an excellent location, you could walk to the pool, marina and tennis courts. Game room in the basement was a huge plus and the deck was beautiful. The house needs updating. The awning has numerous rips and mold, living room furniture has no support, several of the lights, the bulbs were out or not working. The sliding glass door to the deck needs greasing or work, it took two people to open it. The fan and the light in the dining room is shaky, does not seem secure. All in all we liked the house.
