Great space!

Getting to and accessing the property was easy, and the owner was readily available to answer any questions we had during the check-in process. The owner ensured we had everything we needed and made sure our stay was a positive one. The property's outdoor area was expansive with great views of the lake, and it was kid friendly (toddler friendly/safe, at that!). The home itself was well laid-out, clean, and had such a cool history. We definitely recommend this property :)

Lots of fun on Lake Lure

This cabin was just as described, we had all the amenities we needed and more. The views are lovely, very relaxing and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. James was very helpful and the whole process was super easy. Everything at the house was well thought out with renters in mind. I highly recommend this cabin, especially if you are all about the outdoor spaces.

Perfect spot for family vacation!

Our stay was INCREDIBLE! The cabin and amenities were exactly as described online. James checked in with us right after we checked in and provided the most detailed information we needed to know for the cabin, all amenities and also ensured our pontoon rental was scheduled and what we needed. We were able to enjoy everything the property provided - an incredible place to sit and have morning coffee while enjoy the sunrise as well as evening shade. The kayaks and paddle boards were used multiple times by our sons. The hot tub and fire pit provided relaxation and some time for making s’mores while also making family memories. The location is PERFECT! Very close to anything you need from groceries to restaurants. James also checked in with us midway though our stay - so thoughtful! We had never been to Lake Lure prior to this trip, but we will most definitely be back - and we will rent from James again without a doubt! For anyone who wants a quiet, relaxing, fun place to stay and connect with family or friends, this place is it! You will NOT be disappointed!

Amazing Experience

I normally don’t like to write reviews but we had such a good experience I wanted to share. My family and I spent the week and it was amazing. The cabin is gorgeous with beautiful views everywhere. Best outside amenities I’ve seen anywhere. Multiple decks (all with great views) and so many things to do. We loved the kayaks and paddle boards. We also rented a pontoon boat and it was even delivered to us. It was so nice to be able to get up in the morning, walk out the door and take the boat out. And being able to dock with ease and take the boat out anytime you want makes it so easy. We also saw tons of wildlife (raccoons, beavers, otters, ducks and even a bear) which was really cool. It wasn’t just the amazing place and amenities that makes this place so special. James (the owner) went out of his way to make our trip one in a million. He let us rent his rare 1938 chris craft boat (you have to see it to believe it) for a sunset cruise and guided tour of the lake. My daughters boyfriend (now fiancée) used the occasion to propose to my daughter while on our trip. They even provided champagne for them on the trip after he proposed. He said yes by the way:-). They are just starting to offer the tours on the award winning boat but my daughter can’t stop raving how beautiful and romantic it was for her. I can’t recommend this place enough if you want a wonderful and romantic place for a family trip. Best trip we’ve ever had.

Details Matter

We will absolutely be coming back to the Cabin at White Oak Point! We have been to Lake Lure 4 times now in different seasons, but never have been this comfortable. There are so many luxury details to give you the comfort of home away from home like the high quality bedding and mattresses, the cleanliness of the entire property, the boat days, cooking in the pizza oven, soaking in the hot tub with a resort style towel station, sitting by the fire and always having plenty of wood, kayaking to see the million dollar view and let’s not forget the incredible view every morning with our coffee watching the otters while swinging from the porch swing. All of the well kept indoor and outdoor spaces allowed us to feel like we were part of the lake and made our vacation care free and relaxing. The owner James was amazing to work with and went above and beyond to ensure that our family would have a fabulous time! This was truly one of our best experiences with a short term VRBO rental.

Perfect Getaway

My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay at the cabin. From the moment we walked in we knew that we made the right choice. The outdoor setup of the home was a nice addition. It had lighting that automatically came on after dark, easy boat access, and even an outdoor wood fired pizza oven. James the owner was easy to communicate with and made sure our stay was nothing short of perfect. I highly recommend this rental for anyone looking to enjoy Lake lure.

Beautiful Property

This property is great, lots of fun outdoor activities, boating, canoeing, or just playing in the lake. The owner has put a lot of thought into the outdoor space and it is great. The views are amazing. The pictures online give a great insight into what you get. The house is warm and cozy, and great for a family of 4 or more. The owner was easy to communicate with, he helped with a few check-in questions we had. We will be back for sure, and I highly recommend renting this house.

Beautiful Views and an Incredible Host

White Oak Point was one of the most amazing experiences my family and I have ever had on vacation. This property has incredible views of Lake Lure and the beautiful surrounding mountains. The property has several cool activities that came as a pleasant surprise such as; a diving board, kayaks, a fire pit, and a hot tub. We decided to rent the pontoon for five days and we were not disappointed. This property is a true gem!! A special thank you to James for his constant communication and willingness to ensure we had the best experience possible. Also, to Harold for helping us several times during our stay. We have never felt more “at home” while on vacation than we did at White Oak Point. We hope to be back very soon!!

Perfect Escape

This was a wonderful property to spend the week at. The minute you arrive you can sense and appreciate the history of the home. The owner has done a wonderful job of preserving and maintaining that history while at the same time upgrading to modern amenities and luxuries. The smart home features were wonderful, and made things easy to create a relaxing atmosphere. Morning coffee on the boathouse deck was hard to beat, and the white oaks on the property create the perfect blend of sun and shade during the afternoon hours. James was a great host. He communicated frequently prior to our check-in, and took the time to walk us through all the amenities and tricks to further enjoying our stay. He was very responsive and offered us tips on local places to eat and visit. Thank you, James for the hospitality. Great property!

A piece of heaven!

Our party consisted on 4 adults and we had plenty of room to rest and relax at White Oak Point. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor decks for having our morning coffee to start our day. The grill came in very handy for grilling steaks for dinner one evening. Can’t beat the ambience with the outdoor lighting and music. The perfect place to unwind and enjoy God’s beautiful world. Thank you, James, for making sure we had everything we needed. We hope to be back soon.

This cabin and vast lake frontage property with numerous outdoor toys provided an amazing time away for our family. The owner has provided so many amenities for you to enjoy the lake experience, you will not want to leave! Better than advertised

The property has absolutely everything you could want outside at the lake. Inside is just enough space for family togetherness without being on top of each other. The house had special touches and the smart home features were incredibly helpful. The owner went above and beyond explaining everything of the house and even checked in a couple times during a bad storm system. The house stayed safe and dry and we had a great time. I would definitely recommend anyone looking at this house to stay here. We loved it!

Magical Mountain Cabin on Lake Lure

We had one of the best family vacations we have ever had at White Oak Point! It is a truly magical place and the owners have clearly put a lot of thought and care into making it so. The cozy cabin is well furnished and stocked with all the necessities and extras for a relaxing vacation, from cozy Buffalo check throw blankets, oversized coffee mugs, Yeti tumblers, bear decor and a super cool Google smart home system to manage the lights and music, inside and out. The real star of this special place, however, is the outdoor area and waterfront! From the fire pit area with comfortable handmade Adirondack chairs, a woodpile, s’mores sticks and fire tools, to the huge deck with a nice hot tub, massive Viking grill hooked up to natural gas, and boathouse deck with string lights, plenty of dining and lounge furniture, and a fun high jump spot, it’s just plain perfect. The floating dock and diving board are super fun, along with all the non-motorized toys like kayaks and paddle boards. Plus, we took advantage of the option to rent the owner’s pontoon boat for the whole week and it was fantastic to be able to cruise around beautiful Lake Lure as much as we wanted. The views of Rumbling Bald and Chimney Rock from the center of the lake are breathtaking and not to be missed! We truly had the time of our lives!

Relaxing Lake House

Our stay was a wonderful experience for the entire family. The property was recently renovated and beautiful. Lot's of options to enjoy the lake with paddle boards, kayaks, and a pontoon boat. There are beautiful views from all decks. Great communication from the host the entire visit. I highly recommend staying here and hope to do so again in the future.
