Last weekend of Ice Climbing for the Season.
This is the perfect place for 2-4 people looking to stay in Lake City. Jim is easy to work with, always responds quickly and takes good care of his guests.

Lake City Fall Fun
We loved our stay here, what a great find! We stayed for the weekend with my Nephew and his girlfriend and our 2 dogs. The owners were very responsive and helpful. The property was clean and had everything we needed, including some kitchen staples we forgot to bring. The fenced backyard was nice for the dogs, and we enjoyed morning walks down by the river. Great base camp for adventures of all kinds, we would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful stay!
Jim and Dana were great. The apartment was perfect. It was beautifully furnished and had everything we needed. The small back yard was just right for our two dogs. The location of the apartment was ideally located. We hope to go back soon!

Very clean spacious home.
What a lovely cozy,clean and spacious place to stay. Kitchen was well stocked. Very comfortable beds. Cute back yard for our little dogs. We will be back next year. Do not hesitate to stay at this home.

Lake City Get a Way
We had a very nice stay as it was our first time visiting Lake City. Jim was a great host! We loved the walking location and enjoyed hiking at so many great trails. The bakery was delicious too!

Perfect for our group
My daughter and I and three of my friends enjoyed a few days of ice climbing. The property was close to the ice and easy to use. With two bedrooms and a roomy sofa, it accommodated five easily. Our host was friendly, attentive and helpful. I would definitely recommend this property.

Convenience to great 4-wheeling
The town of Lake City provided all of the comforts of home. Yet it was literally minutes away from the most beautiful Colorado scenery I have seen.

Best city on earth

The Gowdy's are wonderful and so was their property. It is centrally located, within walking distance, of all the best restaurants in town. The appliances are new and the apartment we stayed in was clean, as well as well furnished. We will definitely be staying there again on future hiking expeditions in the San Juan mountains.

Perfect for our quick family visit
Start to finish, this was a perfect VRBO experience. Communication with our hosts was quick and very thorough. The property itself was so much more than I expected. Spotless with excellent appliances. Beds were very comfortable. The decor was artistic, tasteful and really fun without being over the top. Quiet location with really good restaurant less than 2 blocks away. Since we travel with a fur baby, the enclosed backyard was such a bonus. We will be back as this area is a favorite and such a beautiful part of our home state.

Great Fall Trip

Overnight for the Alpine Loop
We had a good stay. Main room could've had better lighting and we wished we had a tea kettle as we're not coffee drinkers. One bedroom was pretty tricky to get around due to large (but nice) furniture. We had a pet along so it was good to have the back door into the small yard. Thank you, we were comfortable.

Awesome beyond expectations!
The hospitality and customer service of our hosts, Jim and Dana, exceeded expectations and delighted us! From the time we booked we were welcomed and once we arrived they both worked to make sure our stay was what we needed and very positive. The internet in the apartment works well and the local art displayed in the apartment was a surprising delight. The kitchen is very well equipped as is the bathroom with every detail of need thought through and provided! Loved the fenced-in backyard that provided a safe place for our dog to sniff and chill. Jim and Dana genuinely care about their guests and we are grateful!

Annual Girls Trip

Convenient and comfortable
This pretty little apartment is clean, comfortable and convenient. Located directly on a main street coming into Lake City, it was great to use as a home base for relaxing, preparing for outdoor activities and walking or driving to businesses in town. We were also able to work remotely because of the dependable Wi-fi. This was a hot summer, even in Lake City. Fortunately, the owners have installed ceiling fans in both bedrooms and there's also a fan in the living room. The appliances, as well as the gas grill on the little patio area of the backyard, were all excellent; the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was extremely clean. With Jim Gowdy's always-prompt response to texts or phone calls, there were never any unanswered questions or unresolved issues. Unfortunately, due to Hurricane Laura hitting our property back in East Texas, we had to leave halfway through our reservation but, "Thanks, Jim!", for at least a few days of "normal" during this difficult time of pandemic craziness and hurricane evacuations!

Wonderful location, great hosts
The Gowdy properties are lovely, the location was great and Jim was amazing, super helpful and always available. The condo is small but has everything that you need for a short vacation and it has been decorated with a lot of love and good taste. Jim was very helpful with tips and things to do in town he left us a bunch of information about the area. We couldn't have chosen any better.

Family get away
Jim was great from the start, he provided us with all kinds of information about local activities and history of the area. The apartment was awesome, very clean it had a private back yard with a covered porch, walking distance to the river and to all the downtown shops. We'll definitely be back.
