Nice place, great location

We had plenty of space, all the amenities we wanted, great view. One of the kitchen appliances was broken, but the management offered prompt assistance to remedy the issue. We were very pleased with the place and service.

Perfect place for families!

We love this resort to stay with our children. We have a 5 and 3 year old and they love the pool and jacuzzi. They also enjoy the resort cats! The place is stocked with chairs, beach towels, a cooler, basically everything you need for a beach day. We would love to stay here again!

Stay was great, great location, could do with some more amenities

Great location with amazing view overlooking the golf course, swimming pool at ocean view as well. Felt safe letting kids be on the patio once we moved the chairs away from the railing. There are some surfing/ snorkeling gear in the closet too. For 10 people, this was perfectly sized. Overall, it was well stocked. Would have loved it there were 1. Kitchen tissues 2.Room with Queen bed was brighter/ had more lights 3.Carpets were cleaner/ newer. Will book again if we decide to visit again.

Minimalist approach to guest experience

The Papakea grounds are beautiful, and the condo’s location is good; close to the pool and a top floor unit. Unfortunately, that’s where the upside ends. This unit appears to be simply a source of revenue for the owner where they take a minimalist approach to caring for it or the guest experience to maximize the cash flow. I can handle the missing and broken panels from the master bath vanity. I can even take the outdated, broken tiling along with the lack of renovation. The issue is lack of cleanliness and overall comfort. Dirty walls and doors, uncleaned vents, and the rusty shower rod that was supposed to be addressed in previous review is still there. One would think a three-bedroom condo would be equipped for a family stay, but the kitchen was so poorly equipped we had trouble finding cooking gear and serving utensils: I had to borrow a metal spatula to use the resort’s barbeques! In the master bedroom, the mattress is impossibly hard making for a tough night of sleep if you are a side sleeper. The bed had its original tags, dating it to 1994. Whether or not that matters, I am not sure, but it does not seem like a best practice to have a mattress 27 years old – definitely not worth the cost of the unit.

The surroundings were nice but was disappointed with the apartment. The room facing the pool was extremely hot which made it uncomfortable to rest at night, the living room carpet is dirty the shower rod need to be replaced as its shows signs of rust.

Friend trip to Hawaii

Overall the stay was nice. The resort was a lot of fun, yay shuffleboard! The host was communicative during the stay. The reason for the 4 vs 5 star rating is that 1- the check in process was inconvenient. 2- the fridge was leaking on us. 3 - the overall quality of the place (furniture, AC, etc) was good, not great- hence the good rating. I’d definitely recommend the place to friends!

Great stay

The reviews I read before booking reflect the truth about this place. The only “somewhat” unpleasantness was how quickly the water went cold - we were a family of 9. Also, the air conditioner was unwilling to be adjusted. And finally, the mirrors in the condo make it look a lot larger than it really is and I was out off by that in the advertisement. But literally - that was it. If you can get passed those very minor details, I would rent this very place again!!

Enjoyable Stay on Maui

We enjoyed our recent stay on Maui in our Papakea condo. My Perfect Stays, the Property Managers, were excellent at communicating with us helping to ensure our experience was excellent. The condo was clean and well kept on our arrival. The property staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was well kept and cleaned/sanitized regularly. The washer/dryer came in handy, but the kitchen lacked some of the essentials we needed for cooking such as a colander and cookie sheet. We also found the hot water wouldn't last long enough for my entire family to get ready/shower off after being at the beach. And lastly there were a large amount of fees associated with the rental. The condo is in walking distance to a grocery store and small strip mall where you can get pizza, shave ice, gelato, and dole whip.

Great place with beautiful views!

This condo was even better in person! We had a family of 7 and came and stayed for one week. The resort was clean and beautiful. The condo had everything we needed plus more! It was equipped with kitchen supplies, complimentary laundry soap and dishwasher soap and extras like beach chairs and a beach umbrella! We watched whales from the deck every morning. My Perfect Stays was excellent on their communication and ensuring our stay was great and we had everything we needed. We will definitely use this condo again!

Perfect family vacation

The location and activities could have been vacation enough without even leaving the property. We enjoyed ourselves so much. Loved having a washer and dryer, but the handle was broken on the dryer and we had a hard time opening it. It was placed in a sliding door closet that really was hard to access. Otherwise, the important items for our family vacation was all in tact.

The condo is roomy and great location for a big group. The issues with the condo washer did not spin and ruined several clothing. The garbage disposal does not work. The air conditioning did not work properly.

Great Family Destination

This condo was great for our family, there were 8 of us. The view from the lanai is fabulous and the grounds at the condo are very well maintained with a friendly staff! The flora and fauna was beautiful! Although there isn't a sandy beach to hang out on in front of the condo the resort didn't disappoint as we had planned to explore different beaches on the island anyways. The pool, hot tub and barbeques are very well maintained and the concierge made great suggestions. This individual condo could use some fresh paint on the inside and some type of baking dishes and/or cookie sheets (therefore 4/5 stars), otherwise we feel we had everything we needed. There were 2 beach chairs that were available to use along with some other beach items and towels, and the beds were comfortable and we slept great. There is a reasonably priced grocery store, an ABC store, and food trucks a short walk away. We would stay at this resort again! Great Memories Made!
