The condo was amazing. The lanai was one of our favorite places to gather. The Honua Kai resort amenities were great. Less than 5 min from condo to sitting on the beach. I was surprised at just how well stocked the kitchen was, much more than only initial starter supplies. The beach gear was perfect.

Family Vacation

We had an excellent stay in this beautiful unit. The photos do not demonstrate the truly gorgeous view you will experience when staying in this suite! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was reasonably equipped with just about anything you might need to bake or cook, and the property is well kept. Our kids had fun in the pools and beach! Thank you for the boogie boards, Tommy Bahama chairs and beach umbrella! I really like the fact that the grocery store is close by, so if you’re planning to do some grocery shopping while here it’s not difficult to pick up items (especially if you’ve forgotten something). There’s also an organic farmers store (to purchase local fruit and vegetables as well as tasty dips, salsas and other food) up the street and a fish shop if you’re into that kind of thing. We love this spot on the island and plan to keep coming back! Mahalo Maui Westside properties!

Great Unit with Amazing Views!

Overall, the condo was very clean and as described and the resort is great. The views from the lanai are absolutely beautiful- we spent most of our time out on the lanai enjoying the sunsets. There’s also an elevator right near the unit with convenient access to the pools, Duke’s and the beach. We would definitely stay here again.

Best Maui spot!

WOW! What a beautiful condo property! We have rented condos/houses for several years on our vacations to different states and this one is our favorite ever! The condo was exceptionally clean....everything was freshly painted inside and out. Everything was in great working order, beds were comfortable, windows and patio super clean, furniture in great shape (only thing to note is the ottomans, couch, and cloth seats on dining chairs/stools could use a clean). So nice to have this much space and two bathrooms with two sinks each for our family of 5. The property is very well taken care of - we loved all the pool options! Dukes was great for dinner and also poolside service. Very quick and good food/drinks! Loved having clean towels at the kiosk as needed. Beach is long and clean and beautiful! The view from this specific condo is the star of the vacation! No better view in the place! We could watch the sunset each night and having a pool/ocean view was spectacular!! We opened the doors at one point and when the A/C didn't kick on after, the property manager was so quick to respond and had it back running while we were at dinner. Great service! It was nice to have beach chairs, cooler, boogie boards for use too. Location is perfect for getting to Whalers or Lahaina. Can walk along the boardwalk a long ways and it's very nice and safe. Paradise!!!

Fabulous View

The location of the apartment is perfect- the view over the pool and ocean is spectacular. We loved listening to the music at Dukes in the evening. The apartment suited our family of 5 perfectly. It has chairs etc for use at the beach. Would have liked a few basic kitchen items, like oil, sugar etc. Not an issue though. We loved everything about our stay and would recommend to others.

Family Getaway

The condo was beautiful, so much space and had everything we needed. We sat out on the lanai each morning with our coffee and watched beautiful sunsets each night. We spent time both at the beach and all the pools, and enjoyed Duke’s. Overall we loved our stay here. The only thing I would mention is the beach is much better down by the Sheraton and Kaanapali beach hotel area south of black rock, wider and less rocky. But also a quick distance away.

Honua Kai

We have stayed at many different units in Honua Kai throughout the years and have always loved our stay. This unit has the most spectacular view that we have experienced yet, definitely the best part of the whole stay. The unit itself was clean and as billed. Kitchen supplies were pretty decent, although would have appreciated some grilling utensils. The unit was also well stocked with beach chairs, beach toys and a cooler which was super handy. The couch and accent chair in the bedroom could stand to be replaced but the beds were very comfortable. Honua Kai itself is a fantastic property. My kids love the numerous pools to choose from and we love the onsite restaurant Duke's (arguably the best on the island). Location is fantastic as well. My only complaint this time around was the number of things that were not functioning at any given time during our stay. At one point in time, 4 of the 5 pools were closed for various reasons and several of the hot tubs were not actually hot. Now I will give credit to the maintenance staff as all of these pools were reopened relatively quickly but it was definitely a minor nuissance at times. Also, the elevator closest to the unit was out of order for two of the days during our stay. Overall not a huge problem because I do understand that things break at times and they were back up in working order relatively quickly. My biggest complaint would be the presence of two large cranes in the courtyard outside our window. While appreciate that the association was working hard on renovations, it was definitely very distracting from the beauty of the property.

Wonderful stay

This is our second time at the Honua Kai, this year we had two condos (one for us and one for my in laws). The unit was clean, well stocked with everything we needed, and had beach chairs and sand toys, etc. for my kids. The resort as a whole is clean, modern, and the check in and booking process is a breeze. When we parked we had a TON of groceries and the bell desk put all of our stuff on a cart, the groceries in bins, and brought it all up to our unit for us. I plan to return to the same unit next year if it's available! Highly reccomended!

Stunning View

This listing was better than expected. The pictures are very accurate. The view and lanai are absolutely amazing. We already want to come back and stay again. The whole resort was very kid friendly. The pools were fantastic. They were perfect for our 9 year and 12 year old. This is the best VRBO we've rented. The beach walk was another bonus we didn't know about. Duke's is delicious. If you want a dinner reservation, book before you stay, it was hard to get a reservation. We waited until the day we arrived and could only get a late dinner time on our last night. Worth the wait and money. The lanai really does make the whole place. It is a nice unit, but that view and the windows are stunning. Really fantastic grounds, can't wait to come back!!!!
