The room was perfect with a sunny balcony and view of the resort and ocean. The pools were fabulous for our kids aged 7 and 9…already looking for forward to the next trip!

Great stay . Nice property.... clean ... secured.Parking garage ... unit was great for the family stay ....Sofabed was comfortable. Close to food trucks and few restaurants and a grocery storeId add ..that we had beach chairs and a cooler ..However a beach umbrella should also be furnished ...overall great atay . Would do it again .

Amazing sunrises from a great unit!

3rd time staying at Honua Kai. We love the property and thus unit was great. We loved the Mountain View’s in the morning to see the sun come up over them. Unit was in perfect condition and well stocked. Right beside the elevator which was very convenient. The store is also located in this building which made it very convenient to go down and get a snack or ice cream. We will book it again.

Wonderful Honua Kai

We've stayed at Honua Kai several times and it's even more attractive now with a bunch of food trucks a block away. Duke's can be tough to get a reservation for (and pricey). Unit was clean, staff was friendly. I wish there was sugar/creamer for the coffee and tongs for the grill but these were minor issues.

2nd time Hawaii

Hawaii is great, people are nice. Place very clean and enjoyable. The only store in lobby very over priced and not friendly. So we started going outside of resort to but simple things and other. Didn’t know what to do at first

Our comments

Dining furniture is very uncomfortable. Bar stools are not useful because of no overhang for leg room and interfere with dining chairs. It would be helpful to have some instructions for AC/lanai door connectipn etc. Other than that we were very pleased. We would come again. The property itself is excellent. Confusion about the two different buildings and on checkin staff were not at all helpful getting us to the correct building.

Everything you need and more!

Pass up those $1400/night resorts and find yourself in a plush, well appointed condo at Honua Kai. This place has everything you need for an incredibly comfortable stay in Maui. Restaurants, bars, general store, beach towels, pools, water slides, beach front access, spa, full gym, and more right on the property. Beach front and mountain view’s are spectacular. The resort is in a great location positioning you about 15min south of some of the areas fine dining, about 15min north of fun places to eat and shop, about 30min from most of the ports of call for snorkling/whale and turtle watching. Additionally, you will be about 35min from the airport, and about 45min from Mama’s Fish House and the start to the Road to Hana. There is no chance I’d ever select a resort property that’s 4x as expensive with essentially the same amenities but no washer/dryer/dishwasher over Honua Kai. We will make this place a priority on our next visit!

Konea condo unit 710

#710 Very nice unit, We never were able to keep it cool, air conditioning unit did not come on or stay on. Dryer took long to dry clothes and caused even more heat and humidity in the air. Freezer did not keep ice cream frozen hard. It did freeze water in ice cube tray. Decor was very nice. Sofa bed had sheets on it but no bed pillows, had to share the bedroom pillows with Living room sofa. We should have complained to someone about the air conditioning not working, but it was such a short stay and we were on beach or at pool a lot.

Perfect base for Maui

Great location for a relaxing vacation

Honua Kai has been a great choice for our family vacation. Our unit was at the Knoea tower, 7th floor (last floor in that branch of the building), facing outside the central courtyard. The location gave us a lot of privacy and quiet time which was great since our 2 years old son goes to sleep early. The resort is walking distance to several beaches. Furthermore the pools are very nice and great for toddlers and young children. We could enjoy the ocean in the morning, come back for a nap and then end the day at the pool. Duke restaurant is part of the resort. You can order food to go or dine in. It has daily live music at sunset which is great to listen to while relaxing at the pool. The unit was clean and exactly as shown in the pictures. We had most of our meals at home. The kitchen was well equipped to cook our meals. Shared gas barbeque are also available in the resort. They are large and clean. The evening we decided to grill some steaks we had no problem to find a spot. Resort management was extremely responsive. We exchanged few mails before our arrivals to ask for a high chair and a pack 'n play for our son and they replied within 1h. The resort is also conveniently located walking distance from a mall with a very large supermarket and several small restaurants and a food track park. We did not have a car, but Lahaina is about 30 min away by bus (10 min by car). We recommend this resort and we will consider it again for our next stay.

Property great, service even better

Our experience at the Honua Kai was terrific. The resort property was well maintained, and we loved the sunsets from the beach. The unit we rented was everything it promised, with a comfortable bed, good kitchen tools and complete laundry supplies. Best of all was the customer service from Maui Resort Rentals. They were always cheerful and helpful, and responded quickly whenever we had a request. I will definitely be renting with them in the future.

Great stay at Konea 710. On the second day we realized we needed to minor things and the property management company was great. The items we requested although very minor we treated with urgency. I would recommend staying here and we will be back!

Great Location

We really enjoyed our stay in Lahaina, I was pleasantly surprised when we walked into our room and found it looked just liked the photos. For some reason I expected a worn down version of the listing, but not the case. The rooms were well kept and clean with plenty of amenities. The resort was spectacular very well kept, the pools were clean, chairs and towels were plenty and in great condition. We enjoyed our stay and we will definitely look into this location on our next visit to Maui. Thank you!
