We had a wonderful vacation and room 629 was super relaxing and had everything we needed. Mahalo for making us feel extra special and the water/cookies was a very nice touch when we arrived for our birthday celebration.The only problem was the toilet kept running in the guest bedroom by the washer/dryer. They came and fixed it ASAP. The light above the kitchen island also was going on and off, but no big deal - they said they was going to come and fix it. I told them to wait until we left - no big deal. Thank you again, we highly recommend this place.

The unit was beautiful. Our view was just as the photos showed on website. The beds were comfortable. Had everything we needed. As they stated, the dryer took a very long time to dry clothing. Was quiet at night. Would stay here again.

Beautiful unit oceanfront. Stayed w our daughter and her family. She has a toddler and 10 month old. They provided us a pack and play along w a high chair We were in one bedroom while daughters fam was down a separate hallway w 2 bedrms. This worked out great! Also was able to tan from the deck in afternoon while the kids were napping. Did look at a villa but wanted to be closer to the pools. So glad we did! No prob finding parking in garage and loved having Times supermarket across the way. There’s a small food truck walking distance along w a great ABC storeThe HKR has everything you need! Only thing: dryer doesn’t really work well but we’ve stayed here b4 and just did small loads to hang dry or lay out. Our swim suits dry quickly in the Maui sun. Host was quick to respond and communication was excellent. They were able to get us an early ckin too. There’s a smallMarket downstairs that was very convenient. You’ll love staying here

Absolutely gorgeous views all the way around!! We were on a Graduation trip with our son and his two friends - the beach is a short walk downstairs - the pools were beautiful - and the amenities were fabulous!! We would definitely stay here, again!!

Maui paradise

This property was extremely nice, a very clean. My family and I absolutely loved our 3BR unit in the Holokani tower. It was beautiful and the view was outstanding! Perfect place to stay for families!

Excellent facility. Comfortable, and nice view & pools.

We travelled to other beaches, and parking was adequate.. The condo was clean, and view was great. Kitchen was well- stocked. We liked the balcony. We appreciated beach equipment and washer/dryer. (The dryer was slow.) The kids loved all the pools.

More than we hoped

A couple of reviews stated that the pictures don’t do justice. So true. We have stayed at a couple of high end resorts on Maui (four seasons and ritz carlton). Think we’ll be back here again before those. Amazing value compared to those full service resorts. The layout of this condo was perfect. Our 3 kids on one side sharing 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and us on the other side in the master suite! Condo has all the amenities, great kitchen, washer/dryer, and a great room that opens wide to deck with breathtaking views. The resort itself is well kept with a beautiful lobby, a great store and coffee shop, with well kept grounds, and if you like pools, really good ones. I prefer the beach and the location is great. The boardwalk is right in front and gives easy access to west Maui’s best beaches. Our only issue with our stay involved the parking situation. Each condo received a parking pass for the garage. At least 1/2 the time every single space was taken! There were a bunch of “reserved” spaces that were open and couldn’t be used? The overflow lot at the exit to the garage was usually full too. This left me driving around searching for an open surface space some distance away way too often. Argh. But then I got to take in the views or walk the beach or boardwalk and would completely forget about parking until the next day.

I loved the property so much I have stayed there multiple times. Sadly though it will probably be my last. The property has a very large additional residential type condos being built that has limited a once favorite place to stay to ultimately a parking nightmare. Literally the old parking area is no longer and the parking garage is packed with limited spaces. so your choice is to uber everywhere or pay for valet. When completed the property will be packed and with just Dukes available plan on eating in or somewhere else. I can only imagine what the beach, and pools will be like. Thanks for memories You will be sorely missed.

Honua Kai good times

It was fantastic. Great condo with a beautiful lanai and a good ocean view. It was nicer than the photos. We stayed with our two children, their spouses, and our granddaughter. Celebrated our son and daughter-in-laws birthdays. Also convenient walking distance to the grocery stores and the food truck gathering where we ate 2 nights. Also very convenient to have Dukes Restaurant on the property. Highly recommend.

Great suite, resort not so much

I enjoyed the welcome basket we received with banana bread, filtered water and Maui coffee. It was a nice touch. Suite was large and accommodating. Lots of appliances and cook ware provided. Suite seemed pretty clean. View was great. Communication was pretty good up until the point when I complained about a toilet in the 2nd master bathroom maki f a ridiculously loud thumping noise that I could hear on the other side of the suite. It scared my mother in law in the middle of the night to the point where she thought someone was trying to get into her bathroom through the wall. She recorded it The rental company sent an engineer up, who I had to grant free access to my suite in case I wasn’t there. Well no one answered for him and he nearly walked in on my naked mother in law. He tried to replicate the problem but couldn’t so my mother in law showed him the video. He tells her “oh that’s inside the walls, that’s not our responsibility. We have to call in a plumber for anything beyond the toilet itself”. There was no follow up to this visit or responses to my messages to Maui life realty Well the toilet acted up again the following night and I went and looked at it myself. It took me all of 1 minute to diagnose the problem. It wasn’t in the walls. It was in the guts of the toilet tank. Also someone had almost turned the water valve completely off, probably because the toilets at honua kai never stop running. Never heard a word back from the building engineer, a plumber or Maui life realty. I bet this review will get a response though.

11 Day Rental Summary

The positives: Beautiful unit as advertised. Excellent customer service (fast and enthusiastic)! Provided an extra drip coffee maker in the unit prior to our arrival. The negatives: The first issue was a roach infestation that that appeared the morning of the second day. The roaches ranging in size from just under 2 inches to very small appeared in the kitchen on the counter tops, in the sinks, inside cupboards, on the island and on the kitchen floor. We tried to deal with it the first day by killing them, but there were too many. Called Maui Resort Rentals the next day and they quickly sent over a maintenance person to evaluate the issue and propose a solution. The proposed treatment plan was to spray the kitchen with lemon grass oil and to place bait traps. That afternoon the kitchen was sprayed with the lemon grass oil and the bait traps were placed the next morning. The treatment reduced the problem significantly, but we were still killing roaches everyday! The second issue was that some of the eating utensils were dirty when we arrived. It appeared that they were not cleaned prior to putting them away in the drawers. The third issue was that there were a number of false emergency alarms in the Konea Tower. It seems that there were about 6 alarms during our stay at different times night and day. One alarm required evacuation of the tower.

I wasn't aware that we weren't booking directly with the resort itself. So that in itself was unexpected on my part. The 2 overstuffed chair cushions really need some attention. The condo was perfect size for us and we had A MEMORABLE FAMILY VACATION

Amazing property and location

This property was a prefect family vacation spot and the folks at Maui Rentals were top notch from the initial booking all the way through our departure. Views and amenities onsite were second to none and included multiple pools, sunset views, upgraded appliances, newer fitness equipment, complimentary valet, convienient boardwalks, and amazing beaches. The value received for what we paid was exceptional.
