Family vacation

Great overall stay. Very clean. Would recommend. The only negative thing would be that we kept getting the run around for check in. Guaranteed check in time at 4pm, but even at 4 the room still hadn’t been released. Hotel staff recommended to “go try the code” to get in. Worked right away so I believe there was some communication error with letting us know that our room was ready. Otherwise very professional and a great stay.

The condo was dirty. We asked to have the carpets and the bathroom vents cleaned both of which were needed badly. The manager took care of it. It was sort of bothersome not to be able to go back to the room while they cleaned and then waited for the carpet to dry. The owner needs to spend some money on this unit. The tenants above us (we think they are residents) were miserable. They had a child that would drag some toy (or a walker) across the tile floor beginning early in the morning not stopping til later in the evening. The front desk staff said they would contact them but nothing stopped. The main road outside this room is noisy. Some of the locals with their fast cars like to use this road to race, their engines are very noisy, and they don't care. The pool and beach are amazing and that's where the magic is. The exteriors of the buildings were all being painted so large man-lift machines are being used but this didn't really interrupt things.

Beautiful, Easy & More

Loved our experience overall! Honua Kai is an amazing property and has everything you need and near restaurants and shops. The walking path in front of the property will connect you to many places. Maui Resort Rentals is an outstanding property/vacation management company. They are about service not business. Will not book with any other company again in Maui. The shuttle that they provide for their renters is absolutley fantastic. They took us anywhere we wanted to go. The drivers deserved great tips for their help and on time pickups. The unit itself had everything you need. Don't avoid a mountain view when booking, it made for great views and afternoon time on the lanai. Sometimes those ocean front units get really hot and brite in the afternoon.

Lovely Honua Kai Resort

This was our second time staying at Honua Kai, and this room did not disappoint! Everything was as described, and the condition is very clean. Plenty of items are available in the kitchen to make it like your temporary home. Kids thoroughly enjoyed going to the beach and pool everyday! We did have just one issue with the lack of hot water during the first night but the property manager quickly fixed it the next morning. Also would recommend to replace the beach chairs and umbrellas as they are worn and parts are broken. Other than that, we are very happy with our stay and would love to come back again!

Beautiful Mountain View

We spent an enjoyable week exploring Maui. The resort is great with pools, beach access, a restaurant, a coffee shop, and a small market. The resort has a check-out system for beach/pool towels that allowed us to get as many towels as we needed and meant that we didn't have to launder beach/pool towels. The unit was the perfect size for our family of four (including two young children), clean, and well maintained. Plenty of laundry detergent and dish soap was provided. Check-in and out as well as self-parking were easy. There were no issues with construction or other noise. The binder that is provided in the unit is important to read, especially to understand how the air conditioning works and that it turns off when you open the lanai doors. One thing to keep in mind is that this unit has carpet throughout the dining, living, and bedroom but no vacuum is provided, just a broom. When dealing with beach visits and young children it would have been much easier to have a unit that had all hard flooring (others do in this complex) or have a small vacuum to allow renters to clean. The managers may have been able to provide one; we were so busy that we didn't inquire and so have not taken any stars off our review. Also, other units advertise that they include beach toys. This unit had umbrellas and a cooler, but no toys, which would have been nice to have with young children.

Absolutely perfect in every way!

We normally don’t rent rooms with kitchens, and I’ll always rent rooms with kitchens now. Not only was the 1bd rental incredible in every way, we also saved so much money by cooking and eating in at least 2 meals per day! Wonderful place. Definitely coming back!

Best trip ever!!

Such a well stocked unit! Everything you could possibly need. Beds were comfortable. The lanai was my favorite place to spend the evening. Honua Kai is a wonderful resort, with plenty of space to play.

Lovely Anniversary Trip

My husband and I are in our early-mid twenties and had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary here! It is clean and spacious. No bugs. The resort is lovely. The beach isn’t huge, but the location is the best on the island for being near fun activities day or night. (And the beach is still fun to walk on and spot sea turtles and sunsets by!) The pools are lovely- and the hot tubs were enjoyable after dark! Don’t worry about the construction- you can’t hear it unless you go out onto the lanai during the day, and even then it didn't ruin the vibe or good view at all. Don’t hesitate to stay here! (But maybe hesitate to do the road to Hana lol- we decided it wasn’t worth it after we did it.) The only cons are: the water temperature in the shower doesn’t stay hot long, and you do not get daily cleaning service. If you want your room cleaned at all you have to pay. We cleaned what we wanted ourselves to save money. All in all not bad :)

Great condo and amazing resort. Perfect for two people!

We went for the first time to Maui for our honeymoon and stayed here. Couple not have asked for a better location or condo building. Excellent service by Invited Home and great amenities! Would definitely stay again. Never booked with VRBO before and can't say I was impressed. The price was deceiving (booking from Canada, nothing specified that it was canadian or American dollars) and there was a fee that VRBO charges for using their site(almost $200 american). I didn't care so much that these fees weren't exactly made known very well.

What a great, easy, beautiful and relaxing vacation! Our stay was wonderful! The lanai is wonderful and the view of the mountain was well worth the money saved! We enjoyed everything about Honua Kai! I am getting married next summer and loved the area, beach and property so much I want to stay here again! Well worth the drive to our wedding venue. :) If you are traveling to Maui and this is available...BOOK IT!
