We had terrible experience with this cottage and unsafe for kids, here are our feedback:First, the AC situation: The listing indicated air conditioner, but when we arrived there were only 2 small portable units one in hallway and other one in basement. None in bedrooms. These kept tripping the power every 10 minutes whenever we tried to use them, so we had to rely on opening windows for airflow. It was very hot inside, and we could not get a comfortable night’s sleep. The kids were crying through the night because of the heat.Second, safety concerns: Basement had kids unfriendly and dangerous tools that were easily accessible, only covered with thin plastic divider, wet basement slippery for small children, rat traps dangerous to kids if they accidentally touch them, seeds inside tablet box easily accessible to kids. This was not child-proofed at all, and the listing never mentioned that the space would be unsafe for children. This meant we, as adults, were not able to relax or enjoy fully, since we had to spend most of the time supervising for safety.Third, the water and lake area: The listing described the water as clean and sandy, but in reality it was muddy, dark, and not safe for young kids.Drainage smell from Septic tank constantly came near hot tub area which caused us unpleasant headaches.Barbecue Grill: we purchased chicken patty, veggies and buns to use for our dinner night but barbecue condition was terrible, it had rust or stains on its lid, never cleaned.

Guys week-end

We were 10 guys on motorcycles, and the place was perfect for our needs. Donald was a great host and took us through all of the process at the beginning of our stay. He was flexible and courteous. It isn’t a ritz Carleton, but it has plenty of space to accommodate large groups comfortably. Will definitely be back!

The atmosphere is good but neghbour worse we played music 3 min outside lady came and threatened us and the owner is great very helpful overall Compared to other places I wouldn’t go there any more

Quiet lake

This was a fantastic property, with enough room to accommodate an entire family and more. Fantastic fully equipped kitchen, screened in deck overlooking the lake with a bbq, and a hot tub outside overlooking the lake. Surprisingly we had no mosquitoes which meant sitting outside til dark was doable and pleasant. The pictures are accurate with the exception of the kitchen being way better than expected and the space being very large for a cottage. The host met us 30 mins away and drove in w us as there is no cell signal. Very responsive and pleasant to communicate with.

Pleine nature

Donald est une personne accueillante, il aide ces clients de les orienter, il répond au question donc bonne information, le chalet est tres vaste bordé de nature, inconvénient pas de réseau sans fil mais le Wi-Fi est bon, les moustiquaire de la galerie a réparer plein de trous les moustiques rentre (pas étanche) je lui suggère fortement de réparer les moustiquaires, et si il ajoute un ou deux kayak fera toute une déficience, en grand on a passé un séjours confortable même qu'on a que des jours de pluie dans la plupart du temps mais on est bien occupés a l'intérieur merci donald

Great week!

The communication from Donald was excellent. He replied quickly to all inquiries. Accessing the cottage was easy. He provided thorough directions (pictures and words) to aid you with getting there. The directions to get into the cottage were very clear. The inside of the cottage had anything that you would need. The kitchen was fully stocked (pots, pans, coffee maker, microwave, two fridges, pizza trays, salad spinner etc), with a ton of dishes to last three meals for 6 people. The kitchen table was amazing. It can seat a lot of people for eating, card playing, games etc. The beds were comfortable with many rooms for guests to spread out. The screen in porch had a nice view of the lake and was a bonus for BBQing, playing cards, having happy hour and not getting eaten alive by the mosquitoes and watching the rain storms!! There was plenty of grass space to play games (Bocci, Corn Hole (we brought our own) and for the dog to run around. Access to the water was easy. The dock is long and gives plenty of room to attach floating tubes for reading and lounging, two kayaks, paddle boat and water mat, that the children loved. It was a great quiet week away, with lots of relaxation. We would recommend this cottage for others to rent.

Very Happy!

Donald has everything you would want in a cottage rental for your family and some! We enjoyed the screened-in porch where we enjoyed all our meals, a kayak, canoes, and a paddle boat for water activities, a hot tub to relax, and an enclosed fire pit. He thought of life jackets for all ages, pots, pans, cutlery, and even spices, tea and coffee. We were very pleased with our stay.

Overall I would give 3.5 for this property. The place could use more cleaning and decluttering. However the host was very nice and accommodating for anything we needed. He helped us bring in our stuff. The gazebo off the kitchen is certainly a big plus, we were able to eat and hang out there even when in rainy days and we still had a nice view of the lake. There are tons of movies to watch and even a satellite dish was available downstairs. It was very quiet place to relax and reflect on. Thank you Donald we would go back another for sure.

Great but cluttered

The cottage itself was perfect Lots of bedrooms .the screened porch awesome. The property itself would look a lot better if was cleaned up. As you drive in the property does not present well with old rusted van and piles of stuff under tarps , but go Into The front door and forget what you just saw as the view of lake is great. The kitchen is not organized and there is too much stuff. The lake for little ones at beach area is fine however for the older ones there is “muck” from end of dock and being in a bay the water is shallow. The owner has done everything he can to compensate for this : swim doc, Lilly pad kayak canoe etc. The lake is large once you leave the bay the cottage is in.For us, we didn’t mind the bay as quiet and away from boat traffic and we go out on our tubes to float around. I recommend the owner do a deep clean of the inside , we rented for 4 weeks so I cleaned some windows and fridge to be more in keeping with my personal standard .. But the owner does not charge a cleaning fee and it is expected that previous renter leave it clean.Thus his rental price is fair. We have rented many cottages over the years and I give this one a 7/10 as the positives out weigh the negatives

Amazing vacation for all the family

We spent a great time with my family, Donald the owner was very nice and helpful, he waited for us in Wakefield and guide us to there. It was clean and tidy, many rooms and a lot of games. We recommend it to anyone want to enjoy quality time with family or friends!
