Beautiful, clean home for a family trip

We had a great time staying at the Fountain House. Everything was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and located ideally for the various places we went while in La Mesa/SD area. The decor was very welcoming and up to date. We loved having our coffee in the front yard, which was refreshing with lots of shade. All details for our stay were clear, and all the things we needed were available (ice, glass ware, cooking utensils etc). We have zero complaints :) Thank you for hosting us.

La Mesa Stay

I often base my main reason for staying at a rental on the reviews and this one was no exception. All of the previous reviews were five star, so when we arrived and found the outside of the house dirty and full of leaves and spider webs, we were shocked. The inside was better and I could see that the furnishings were good quality: beds, fans, and especially the noise machines were wonderful. I like older homes and the layout of this one was good for us. We were also surprised to see that the backyard was shared by another tenant and that the laundry would occasionally be used by cleaning staff though there was no mention of this on the website. We ended up having a nice time; the AC was a very welcomed amenity as it was unusually hot during our stay. Adam was very quick to respond to messages and he mentioned that the outside issue would be addressed.

Everything was really nice. They provided everything we needed such as coffee, hair dryer, pack n play, high chair, shampoo, towels etc. Really cute place with hotel style pillows on the beds. Spacious and the yard was really nice. We’d definitely come back here if we travel to San Diego again.

Great space for a "home base" to explore San Diego - especially with baby/toddler

This was a perfect clean, multi-bedroom place from which to explore San Diego! - Tons of convenient add-ons that made this feel very homey — including full sized shampoo / conditioner, tons of fluffy towels, laundry, a pack-n-play + highchair and TVs in all of the rooms with Netflix, HBO Max and other OTT options - The beds were very comfortable and I loved that there was plenty of storage space to unpack & organize into drawers and the closets. I also enjoyed being in the kitchen which was clean and spacious. - The back courtyard was nice; not a ton of room to play around in but fine to sit for a morning coffee. The front yard was shaded with enough room for a toddler to romp around in and also a nice fountain that runs in the evening (very pleasant for some peaceful sitting / wine sipping!) - The owner was a great communicator; this was a late reservation and he confirmed quickly and sent useful coordination message. The neighborhood isn't a destination — there's nothing super walkable — but the parking is easy and it's an easy drive to the Zoo, downtown, UCSD and more. Loved staying here; would look to do so again when I come back to San Diego!

Great stay for family

We had an amazing time here in San Diego at Adam’s place. It’s a beautiful space with nice touches and Adam was very responsive to questions/concerns that arose during our stay. The location is centrally located and access to just about everything. Highly recommend this location to people looking for a spot in San Diego.

Charming restored home with modern amenities

My family and I recently stayed at this very charming home in sunny San Diego. As a frequent traveler, I have stayed in a variety of hotels and other vacation rentals, but I’ve rarely been as impressed by a property as I was with this one. The kitchen had a full dish set, a very nice, complete spice rack, as well as a professional knife set for cooking. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows and the neighborhood was cozy and quiet. The home and yard were both well-kept and charming. There were a couple of fountains in the yard as well as beautifully scented flowering bushes and fruit trees. We also enjoyed our mornings and evenings on the red brick wrap-around patio within a fully, white-fenced yard. Some of the amenities included high-speed internet, tasteful and classy decor, a handful of games to choose from and a selection of books for both children and adults to enjoy. There was also a washer and dryer set with laundry soap in the laundry room next door. Next time we visit San Diego, we’ll definitely be checking to see if this property is available. We loved it!

My Son's Cancer treatment at UCSD

Adam was a superb host his response time was impeccable when we had a non-welcomed visitor, a skunk, under the house half way through our stay. He came over the very next morning and had an expert removal personal take care of the smell and set a safe trap/escape route for the little guy to go out but not back in. The out side seating in the back yard was very lovely and we even made fresh lemonade from his lemon tree. We also just loved the front patio with the fountains. The home was very clean not a lot of clutter. We had to find a clean place for my son that is undergoing Cancer treatment and with his immune compromised system this place was perfect while we are trying to find him an apartment and waiting for the Marine Corps housing fund to go through. The only small recommendation I could possibly think of is that he could have few more non-stick skillets or two for cooking and a recyclable receptible in the house.
