The home was very comfortable. We had 5 couples and we had plenty of space. The views are amazing. The kitchen is well-equipped. The house was clean. The outdoor sitting area was nice.The location was within a half hour of the zoo and less to the tide pools and beaches. There is a nearby grocery store.It's on the side of a big hill and the streets are winding and steep to get there. Just FYI.We found the pool to be not warm enough to enjoy, stayed in early Feb. We found the hot tub would get too hot, we'd have to turn off the heat and sit on the edge for awhile, then turn it back on. Overall the pool and hot tub did not meet expectations.

Beautiful spot overlooking La Jolla with a lovely heated pool and hot tub. This house was perfect for our reunion gathering of friends - several relaxation spots, very functional kitchen and dining areas, plenty of bedroom space and bathrooms. Some small things needed a little upkeep, but certainly not deal breakers. Would definitely stay again/recommend this home.

Roach Infested and Misleading ListingThe first and biggest problem: roaches. Large ones in the kitchen, hallways, and even crawling into our backpacks. We had to keep all food sealed and in the fridge, yet they still showed up on counters. It was disgusting, embarrassing with guests, and left us worried about bringing them home in our luggage.On top of that:•The photos were misleading—heavily edited to make the home look newer than it is.•Every umbrella was broken, and outdoor furniture was worn out, with some cushions literally covered in animal droppings.•The lower level smelled terrible, forcing us to run fans, open windows, and buy plug-ins just to manage.•We were charged to heat the pool, but there is no hot tub—just a cold tub, another misrepresentation.Management’s response was basic - They claimed it was “new” and had never been reported, which is absurd—roach infestations don’t appear overnight. Their only solution was to send someone during the last three days of our trip, which wasn’t a real fix and not something we wanted happening while staying there.We rent multiple homes a year and rarely leave bad reviews, but this was unacceptable. Between the roaches, misleading photos, broken outdoor space, foul odor, this was one of the worst rentals we’ve ever stayed in La Jolla. We paid a premium just to now be forced to spend money to fumigate our things when we get home.

The views of the ocean, beaches and San Diego skyline from the pool, balcony’s and fire pit of the property are outstanding. The house was more than adequate in bedrooms (5), bathrooms (4) kitchen and lounging space for my family of 5 adults 3 small children and 1 teenager. The kitchen was well equipped with all the utensils and appliances you need. The property manager “Ocean Sands” were very helpful in getting any issue resolved in an expedient manner and has overall good communication skills.The biggest reason I gave 4 stars out of 5 stars was the plexiglass surrounding the property in the pool area, fire pit and balcony. It is old scratched and cloudy. It takes away from the overall beauty of the view when you are sitting down. If it gets replaced then you have a 5 star rating. Overall we were very happy with our stay.

Beautiful home in La Jolla

This house was spacious. The view alone was worth it. My family and I had a great time. It was very close to everything we wanted to do. 6-10 min drive to grocery stores, restaurants and beaches.

Home easily accommodated 8 adults and 2 children. Pool and spa were nice. View was gorgeous. Outside patio area was great for get togethers. Location was convenient to visit attractions.

Lovely spot for our group of friends

The house was great for our friend group reunion, with lots of space for everyone to gather, including the outdoor space and pool. The owner was very good at communicating and helpful throughout. The house was clean and comfortable.

Great location, great view

The location was beautiful. The neighborhood felt safe and was quiet. The views were stunning. The home had ample room for all 8 of us and plenty of the essentials that made it feel like home. The hot tub was a nice bonus! Overall, a great place to stay! The glass around the pool and balconies looks like they've never been cleaned which detracts from the amazing views. The pool deck had lots of debris from the trees. One of the bedrooms had an ant infestation. Nothing that was a deal breaker but for the amount that we paid for the Thanksgiving holiday, I had higher expectations.

Amazing experience

12 of my family members rented this Vrbo - it was amazing. The two levels of outdoor space were used extensively. The patio level with the table top heater was used for morning coffee and the pool level was used for afternoon drinks and fun. The Vrbo was spotless- the rooms clean and spacious. Plenty of parking and the evening sunsets were beautiful.

The house was very outdated compared to the online pictures. Things were falling apart and breaking all over the house, and the pool umbrellas were completely broken. They both fell over and almost hit my 4 year old nephew twice. We had to find our own ties to keep them upright. The pool wasn’t cleaned for 2 days after our stay started. The view is beautiful, but the house definitely looked nothing like the pictures.

Good location, dirty house

Although the location of this property is great in terms of views and proximity to beaches the cleanliness of the house really disappointed our group. It is situations like these that make it seem like it is better to get a hotel. When we arrived the floors made our feet almost black. When we looked for a broom or mop there was none to be found. Most of the surfaces in the house felt a little sticky and not fully clean. The shower downstairs has a windowsill with peeling paint, cracked grout, and a dead bug in it. On our first night we found a live large cockroach in the closet. At least two of the toilets flushed very poorly often requiring multiple flushes. Additionally, the outdoor furniture had a layer of dust on it and we would have appreciated a wipe down. Overall the outside of the house is not well maintained. The stucco is peeling on the side of the house and the grass had rusted nails randomly thrown about (we had some toddlers who were picking them up). The pool had leaves in it when we arrived and pool maintenance came the day before we were leaving (looked great after that). We will not be booking again.

San Diego Gem and room for the whole family!

This property was perfect for a large party. We each had our own privacy at the end of the night. The pool and spa are a nice feature overlooking the ocean in the background. The driveway is steep as is the hill if you like to walk in the morning, but a very nice quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay with everything nearby by vehicle.

Wonderful views and welcoming outdoor space in large home

Incredibly responsive hosts who were very patient with our many messages. The home was beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable and spacious (but note layout described below in case relevant to your group). The outside space is as depicted online, though use of that space ends at 10 pm. It is important to note that there is no AC. Most evenings (in early Oct) it was bearable to sleep without AC, but this was only true in the rooms that had screens such that the windows could be left open overnight. Guests in rooms without screens and guests who were too concerned about safety to leave a sliding door open overnight were mighty warm. Moreover, during the day (when it was 80 outside), being inside was not always comfortable. The kitchen is generally well stocked, though we could not find a corkscrew or bottle opener. The biggest "con" for our group of 6 friends was the bedroom/bathroom layout. The house has 6 rooms w/beds and 4 bathrooms as listed, but 3 of the bathrooms are behind the door of a bedroom, so effectively 3 bedrooms share 1 hall bath. The shared hall bath is on the main level of the house near 2 bedrooms, but the 3rd bedroom that shares the hall bath is on the lower level. The occupant of the lower level bedroom could access the bathroom in the "family room/bedroom" combo space next door, but that is invasive in the middle of the night since it is behind the door of that "bedroom." Overall, I recommend this property.
