Nice small house

We really lunes the little house. The graden is magnificent and the Pool adequate. The rooms are not furnished as shown, no bunk bed and queen bed in one room, just 1 queen bed. Also the kitchen is missing a few things. The toilet did not flush properly. It could be refurbished and add a few repairs and the place is perfect.

NOT SECURE!!

BE WARNED!!! We would not recommend this VRBO. On our first night someone shimmied open the sliding window at the back of the property and ROBBED us- while we were sleeping. We are so lucky that no one was harmed while we were sleeping. We were careful to lock the front gate, vehicle, and the doors and windows were all locked tight when we went to bed. We woke to find the back kitchen sliding window open and stolen items including a purse, cell phone and 2 backpacks holding goods close to 1000. Interestingly, one sliding window in the kitchen area over the sink had a wooden rod in the ledge to prevent someone from opening the window from the outside. IT WAS THE ONLY WINDOW WITH A ROD. There is no safe at this VRBO and no security camera in the back. The front gate camera was only real time- not helpful. Keylor (owner) encouraged us to contact the tourist police and sent the site manager over to help translate & take my husband to the police office to file a report. We demanded that rods be placed in EVERY windowsill and that was done. IF you stay here, please be sure all the rods are in every windowsill to prevent someone from shimming open the windows. Keylor did NOT give us any compensation for not providing a secure VRBO. There was no safe when we left and no security camera in the backyard. When we offered to send pictures of the damaged window frame, we were ghosted. This VRBO has a beautiful yard in a picturesque location, but unfortunately not secure. Zero stars.

Not as pictured!

This rental was very small-the sitting room has just a loveseat and was not pictured in the VRBO listing. The patio/pool/garden area were lovely, with a grill and plenty of seating. The kitchen had no seasonings, not even salt. Had to make eggs with a ladle as there were no spatulas. A drawer in kitchen does not close and you bang your knees while cooking.The neighbors threw a huge party on Dec 29th that went until after 1am, complete with a very loud band. This is not something the rental owner can control. However it was very inconvenient for us as we had to wake up at 6am for a hanging bridges tour the next day and we all got very little sleep.Dec 29th there was a massive amount of rain. It was very loud and some water actually seeped through the cracks in the cabin wall so there were small puddles in the bedroom when we woke up. After our tour where we got cold and completely soaked, came back to this rental to take warm showers and had no hot water, not even warm water.That’s when we decided to pack up, clean the rental, and check out 2 days early and find a different place to stay. We are no strangers to camping/don’t expect perfection from rentals but we were charged more nightly than our other two VRBO rentals in Costa Rica and they were larger, in better locations, with well stocked kitchens. On top of this, I never heard back from the owner when I contacted him about the issues.

Terrible communication and follow-up

RENTER BEWARE. Property manger commutation was poor and took our money in Europes when we are and We have sent 6 and have had not reply. We changed our dates to arrive 1 day early. Manager advised to cancel and rebook. We rebooked the dates were rebooked for July vs August. We contacted the property manager because the date was out side the cancellation time line. And the property manager failed to return our emails. They took our money and are not honoring our Aug visit. This is unacceptable

What a treasure

Our Green Treasure House stay was great! The grounds, the outdoor living space and the pool were beautiful. The house itself was pretty basic but the beds were comfortable and the cabin was very clean. There was no need to spend time in the house because the outdoor space was so inviting. We felt very secure as the property was fenced and gated. It did require a taxi or Uber to go anywhere. We loved the property and would highly recommend it.

Great home-base for adventures

This cabin is just that - a cabin. It's quaint, and you can see through the wooden slats of the walls, but it's centrally located. For our family venturing out for excursions each day of our stay it worked perfectly. If you want to spend more time at the property it mau be a little small, and th3 neighbors may be a little close. Also of note, we had issues with hot water for showers. The temp wouldnt stay above 30° C. Whennwe reached out to the manager, they offered to take a look, but maintenence hours conflicted with our adventures. Since we only stayed 2 nights at this location, it wasnt too big of a deal for us.

Magnifique cour

La cour est magnifique. L’emplacement est entre 10 et minutes en voiture des activités. Si besoin de quelque chose, le service de l’hôte est très rapide et courtois. Nous avons adoré.

Not as Expected

This property is not terrible but not what is represented by the photos. Great if you're looking for 'Glamping' in a basic cabin but not a comfortable stay. Problems: uncomfortable bed, no blackout curtains, no place for luggage/clothes, loud vehicles passing by, neighbors too close, sad coffee maker, no washcloths, and not enough attention to detail. Fine if you want a cabin experience in a loud neighborhood.

Great pool area

Overall it was a clean and safe place to sleep. However, it was really tricky to get check in instructions from the owner. I had to contact vrbo directly to contact them before communication twice. Also the kitchen could be a little better stocked( cooking utensils, definitely needs a new coffee maker), there are no basic spices like salt and pepper so you will have to buy those . But the pool and outside area are great!

Great villa!

We loved our stay here, nice safe neighbourhood - we walked in the evening to the restaurant. Only trouble was finding the booking office, Waze was great throughout Costa Rica but Google maps is best to find the office. Turn left from Fortuna at the EcoQuitas sign! TV wasnt working, only negative comment!

Perfect getaway

Great location located in an authentic local neighborhood. Walk to town in 20 minutes or 5 minute car ride. Great view of the volcano, quiet retreat from the town.

La Fortuna

This property is in a great location with views from Arenal and easy access to the town of La Fortuna just a few minutes away. The outside living space is great the inside of the property is nothing special but what one would expect for this area/ region. For a small space they did very well. Only dislike was the security camera overlooking garden and pool area. It seems like an invasion of privacy. I do respect the camera looking towards the gate for security reasons it’s just the one looking into the property that is excessive. Still a very nice property and comfortable stay I would recommend.
