This property was in a great location. We swam off the dock every day with no worries about boat traffic, and the property was very easy to reach when we rented a boat for the day. The best of both worlds. The house was very clean and spacious, and had a great kitchen. There were lots of steps though, and you had to be careful getting down the concrete steps to the dock. This was a little tricky for some in our party. However, we would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful home with a relatively easy walk to the lake compared to the MANY other places we’ve stayed. The kitchen has everything you’ll need, and more! The fire pit is the best! We grilled hotdogs and enjoyed stargazing. Be sure to carefully tie you your boat because it does get wavy. We learned that lesson the hard way. This is a great location situated between some fun marinas. Springs is great for breakfast and lunch. Shanghai is a fun hangout. If you are adventurous, head over to the jumping rock and visit Flat Hollow! There’s also the jumping bridge right around the corner. Seeing deer everywhere was a special treat. We got a kick out of the one on our first day who was clearly ignoring the neighbor’s sign! This is truly a perfect location with lots to do.
We floated in front of the dock every day!
Rebel deer are everywhere!

Fabulous week in this beautiful setting with all the family! Spent many hours on the dock/in the water, fishing with the kayak, adventuring the cove with the paddle board and roasting marshmallows in the firepit. Dock also accommodated our rental boat nicely. Fully equipped kitchen and outdoor grill met all expectations for great mealtime with all the family accommodated in one large space. This was our 4th year at this property and we have already reserved for next year!

Our family had a fabulous week at this gorgeous property. It definitely wins the prize for best–stocked kitchen at any rental we’ve ever used. We had so much fun making dinners! A sizable dock fit all of us comfortably. Super close to our marina and we enjoyed a couple of trips over to the Tiki Hut. The host was very responsive when we needed her, too. Highly recommend! We hope to be back sometime.

Sunset Shores Was Delightful!

The property was a perfect place to gather with our family and friends. We had a big group and this home had plenty of space for all of us. The ice maker in the bottom level was a game changer for bring ice to the coolers on the boat. This property is perfectly situated near 5 different marinas and the jumping bridge. We swam off the dock everyday after boating and had a great time! We will definitely book Sunset Shores again!

Annual Norris Vacation

Overall, we had a great time! The place was as advertised. The host communicated promptly and we especially appreciated the commercial ice maker. We didnt realize they had that but what a great surprise! That was so convienent. And the layout of the house was nice and spacious.The only area for improvement was that there was some areas that could have used a little more cleaning. Overall, it was fine. But there was dog hair from previous folks still around, exterior windows that could use a good cleaning to see the view better and some dust left in areas. Also, we battled ants all week in the kitchen starting on the first day. I know that's tough once they get in from people before us likely leaving out food. That's why I still gave them a 4 out of 5 stars. Because the majority of the place was clean.

Awesome week, super property owners

This is the second year we stayed at this property. It was even better the second time. The house is in great shape, very clean and welcoming. The neighborhood is clean, safe and easy to get into (no stone or winding roads). The walk to the dock was easy, and the firepit was very nice. We had a great week.

Lake Life 2024

This is our third year and we have reservations for 2025! The house is well equipped, has an open floor plan on the main floor, accomodations for all 14 of us with ample room and well maintained. The lake just down the back stairs gives close proximity to water play. Smores in the fire pit and a boat dock for renting a boat completes our experience making it a fun trip for all, including our 4 legged friends. The location to 4 marinas and the jumping bridge add to our adventure. Thank you to the Elms for sharing their beautiful home!

Wonderful vacation home!

Everything about this property was great. The owner was wonderful at communicating, really quick responses, answered all our questions, even during our stay. Super hosts!! The home itself was very spacious, plenty of room for everyone, the bedrooms were all a good size and could fit our many pack n plays with ease! The kitchen was extremely well stocked (not that we cooked, I mean, we were on vacation!) We appreciated the kayak, paddle boards and water mat (bring your own adult life jackets). The close proximity to the community pool, playground and pickleball courts worked out well for our little ones. And the winery just a few minutes down the road worked out well for the adults!! It was easy to rent a boat (we used Shanghai Marina) and bring it back to the dock. If we are ever back in this area, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Spectacular!

Everything about our stay was wonderful - the home was clean, spacious and the kitchen was well stocked with tools for all of your cooking needs! The dock was perfect and felt much more stable than the one at other home we rented nearby. There are several marinas close which was helpful for renting toys and gassing up! Pam was very easy to communicate with - overall we loved this house and will definitely rent here again if we ever return to Norris Lake!

Peace and Tranquility

We rented this property as a Christmas gift to my husbands parents and siblings to have a family vacation. It was beyond expected. The house was clean, spacious and laid out perfectly. Prepare for stairs to get up and down to the water but worth every step! The floating dock is where spent our days floating on rafts and tubes, swimming and fishing. This is a dog friendly home and our girl Loved it too! Couldnt have expected a better first Lake vacation for our family.

Excellent vacation

The house is very large and has lots of space. The kitchen has lots of kitchenware to use. The kitchen tables are very large and can fit many people. Loved the ice machine, paddle board and Lilly pad. Also has a kayak. About 80 steps top to bottom. The basement has a bar which was very nice and a foosball and ping pong table. Dock is very nice and large. It is very wavy bc it gets lots of traffic. Close to 3 marinas and the jumping bridge. The firewood needed dried out more. It was very wet and wasn’t able to start a fire. There were plenty of beach towels so we didnt need to bring our own. Owners responded very quickly to any questions. Would definitely stay here again!!!!!!! Great experience.

Lakeside Family Retreat

Wonderful house on the lake! We rented a deck boat for 4 days that we were able to keep at the convenient dock, spent hours each day playing in the water off the dock and were able to enjoy indoors with a variety of spaces in the evenings or on the rainy day. It was perfect for our family of 13 as well as our four-legged family members. This is our second year and we have made reservations for the third, hence now hoping to keep the tradition rolling!

Family Vacation

The Elms was the perfect house for our family vacation! With the number of bedrooms and 3 separate bathrooms, we all had our own space. The ice machine in the basement was an amazing perk to fill coolers up to take down to the dock for the day. The dock was perfect for having a rental boat and lounging on. We enjoyed using the paddle board and kayak as well.

What a Great Week

The property exceeded our expectations for sure. Our host was responsive throughout and made things easy. There was plenty of room for all. The kitchen is laid out so well, made meal prep and service easy and fun. The house was clean and inviting. The ice machine in the basement was a real plus. The walk to the dock was a lot of stairs, but safe and easy. The dock was nice, covered with plenty of room to sun bathe and swim. The neighborhood was really nice, easy access in and out. We saw deer everyday on and around the property. We saw a momma skunk and her six little ones. One evening we were visited by another skunk while sitting around the fire pit. It walked around the brick wall, stopped to help itself to two graham crackers and wonder off. We made some great memories.

Our family of 10 getaway

I would like to start out by saying this was a beautiful, spacious cabin. Here are a few things I wish I'd known from the pictures. There are 9 chairs around the fire pit and some also on the dock (we didn't need to bring any). There are 85 steps from the waters edge to the top, main floor deck (tough if your in your 60's like my husband and I). All the beds, except the one king were on the small side (very tight for 2, I would recommend they upgrade them to Queens...there is plenty of room). The water pressure was good and the main floor bathroom got used a lot (bring lots of toilet paper and paper towels). The kitchen is awesome. It has everything you could imagine for cooking and preparing meals. There was a huge electric skillet. huge crockpot, Keurig coffee maker plus a regular coffee pot and all the silverware, dishes and utensils (you might want to bring a few containers for left overs). In addition to the pingpong table there is a foosball table, cornhole boards and the most incredible thing was the full bar area downstairs with a bar style ice machine (no ice runs to the store for the coolers)....kids loved the bottom floor area. We had 2 small dogs with us and there was adequate area on the main floor level for them to go outside. We had a lot of wonderful shared meals and game nights (Bring some of your favorites....They don't have any that we saw). We rented a boat for 2 days and I would recommend it (be careful for the sunburns, we had a few) Good Times!
