We rented this home for our parents 50th Anniversary. There were 11 of us ranging in age from 2-70. The home was more than big enough for us all. We were even able to give everyone their own floor. The kitchen with its 2 fridges was more than accommodating. The 2-story dock was a huge hit. The water was very warm and was much cleaner and clearer than we would have guessed. Being at the end of the cove gave us a sense of privacy and the quietness to just relax and enjoy ourselves. Nothing is ever perfect though, but that 's not to say the negatives are even close to the positives of this house. The description mentions stairs, and oh my are there stairs. 77 to be precise. My 70 yr old mother counted them multiple times. :-) Make sure you've got everything with you before heading down to the dock, because you're not going to want to walk back up to grab something you forgot. If you're staying on the lower level be prepared to hear the septic pump when it kicks on. It woke us up numerous times during the week with a loud boom and the floor shaking. The first time not knowing what was going on was jarring, but after discussing with John, we weren't as shocked afterwards. The deck has numerous boards that need replaced, specifically under the hot tub, where you can see clean through one board. The fire pit needs cleaned out and rebuilt as the stones are falling off. I honestly think the biggest complaint we had was the landscaping. You can't see the dock or water through all the trees, plants and weeds. It would be such a better, more beautiful view if they were trimmed back and cleared away so you can enjoy the views of the water from all 3 decks. Also clearing and cutting them back would definitely cut down on the number of bugs and spiders. These are all "cosmetic" negatives, nothing that would deter us from renting again. Rustic Haven is a beautiful get away that allows you to forget about the hustle and bustle of home, and just relax and enjoy yourselves.
