  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Great location to the beach

Overall the property was suitable for our family vacation and the location to the beach was great! However we did have someMinor issues. There were wasps nest EVERYWHERE. Under the chairs on the patio, all throughout the decks and we were able to utilize the fire pit because of the multiple wasps nests we encountered. The grill propane tank was empty and had to clean the grill quite a bit so not sure how maintained the property is. One of the king bedrooms had a strong urine smell. I know it is pet friendly, however

Perfect family getaway

Our family had so much fun relaxing at the big easy. House was located close to the beach and a short drive to shops and restaurants. We had plenty of room and everything we needed at the house. Overall, it was a great getaway in the beautiful obx!

The TV in the upstairs bedroom would not power on and one of the showers on mid level wouldn't work. Just wrote that so owner can repair. We had a blast and hope to come back again.

Great Home for 3 families

THE HOUSE - We had a wonderful stay - perfect for 3 families with small children. The porch is fantastic - perfect for looking at the ocean. There is a ton of space - we were able to spread out and enjoy. We would rent this property again. MANAGER - We had terrible weather - with tornado warnings, ice rain, and 40mph gusts all weekend. I reached out to the property manager to see if we might be able to reschedule for different dates and never received a return call. This is through a rental agency - not an owner - and you do have to sign an additional rental contract. I'm sure this is the norm in the area - but just FYI - as they were less flexible on the weather front. LOCATION - it is a short drive to the Duck boardwalk, but just a block or two to beach access - so it was great. Hot tub was in working order - and was very enjoyable with great water views. Kitchen had everything we needed (minus salt/pepper, aluminum foil, paper towels, coffee filters - but I'm sure that's normal especially during Covid). Overall - despite the terrible weather - we had a great stay and would like to rent this property again - hopefully during warmer weather!

Nice Home

Rented this home for a family thanksgiving. Comfy and warm. Less than 5 minute walk to the beach. We enjoyed everything, especially the outdoor shower. The location was great!!

Great location

The location was great. Only a short walk to the beach. The boardwalk, shops, and restaurants were only a short drive. We went in October. It was not very crowded. Went to the Sandune‘s they were amazing! Walking on the boardwalk was very relaxing. We loved it! The beach had a undertow which made it where we could not go in the water

Things we loved: - spacious and laid out well - second fridge on ground floor - open and bright gathering spaces - pool! - proximity to the beach Room for improvement: - sharpened knives would have helped - maintenance issues (broken ceiling fan, non-working bathroom exhaust fan, missing screens on porch) that could have been addressed during turnover - ability to access pool without walking across sand volleyball court or through the house

Awesome!

The Big Easy was a wonderful place to stay! We really enjoyed the ample space, the porch with the dining table and of course the pool and hot tub were a huge hit! The house was clean and had everything we need for a fun relaxing vacation!
