  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Great house that accommodated our extended family. The house was clean & well appointed. The rental agency quickly responded to our questions. We look forward to renting again in the near future.

Great location, clean and comfy!

We loved this house! It was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Bedrooms were comfortable and bathrooms were clean (double sinks a plus)! The location was nicely situated between shoppes and beach-both about a 5 min walk. Enjoyed the clubhouse game room, pool and pickleball courts. Would definitely stay here again!

Loved the location and property

Located a tad closer to the village than the beach, it was a short enough walk to each. All rooms/bedrooms were comfortable and functional. Tons of bathrooms. Easy access to an indoor bathroom directly from pool area. One of the best I've stayed at in 15 years. Wine/beer under-counter fridge was a great touch. I have one complaint with almost all rentals - no sharp knives for food prep. I always bring a knife sharpener and one of my good chef knives.

Great stay at In Between Dreams

We had a wonderful experience at this property. The house was in excellent condition when we arrived. Our all adult extended family group all appreciated having their own bedroom and esp their own bathroom! We like to mostly eat-in and found the kitchen nicely equipped; great selection of pots, pans, utensils, serving bowls and plates, and a ton of flatware. There were some small appliances too like blenders, a coffee maker, toaster and a mini food processor. There was a standard size food processor but we couldn’t get it assembled correctly, even after pulling up the manual on the internet. The major appliances (stove, dishwasher & fridge plus washer & dryer on the ground floor) were all in excellent condition. The location is great too, an easy 5 minute walk to the beach or sound. We really liked The Tomato Shack produce stand on the corner. Outstanding selection of produce including fresh herbs plus housemade pickles and jams. Our pooch loved to sun himself on the deck. We also went on a nighttime beach visit where he learned he could chase crabs. We loved our stay here and hope to return again soon.

The house needs a good cleaning

The floors were very dirty. We did our own cleaning. It had pets hair from previous renters. If you are going to allow pets, please at least clean the floors. One member of my party is allergic to spider bites and there were cobwebs and spiders everywhere! The cobwebs were massive. My guess was very uncomfortable for the entire weekend. On the positive side - we were very close to the beach!!!

Trip planned for 11 people to visit the Outer Banks. We chose Duck and was very happy with our rental experience! Spacious house, enjoyed the pool and hot tub! Beautifully decorated!

This was a great property in a nice neighborhood. The beach access was great with the convenience of having the clubhouse nearby. The house was nicely decorated and everything was appropriately working.

We had a wonderful stay. Floors needed a better cleaning. A couple of the toilets did not work well. Property management company was in touch and accommodating.
