My family truly LOVED our stay in Duck, NC and our condo (Flying Duckman) in Duck Blind Condos!!Jim and Wendy were excellent hosts! From the time when we booked our condo Sept 2024 til a week before our stay in August 2025 Jim answered ALL our questions very timely! From questions about the condo to questions about the area of Duck (as we were never at the OuterBanks before). That was very much appreciated and made us feel very comfortable with our decsion to choose this condo! In addition, during our stay, Jim reached out to us to see how things were going and if we had any concerns! I never expected that,, They truly were WONDERFUL!The condo was very Nice, clean and we absolutely LOVED our patio and sitting each morning watching the sunrise and in the evening talking while having drinks. The condo complex was in the perfect location- oceanfront, short walk to the beach and short walk/drive to the quaint town of Duck with lots of shops, restaurants and boardwalk. And we loved having a pool at the complex!The BEST FAMILY BEACH vacation so far!!!

Beautiful place

Great location. Easy access to the beach. Had a great time all around the area at parks, kayaking, horse tour up in Carova. We had a lovely time!Place was great. Beds were comfortable, hot showers, everything you need in the kitchen. Little porch with some beach chairs, pool noodles etc. pool was nice and clean also

Wonderful Location

We were within 30 minutes of the sites we hoped to visit during our stay. The town of Duck is within walking distance - restaurants, shopping, the market. And so refreshing to return to a dip in the pool or a walk along the beach!

A gem

This was our first visit to the Outer Banks and we were uncertain as to what area to stay. Duck was the perfect location and everything was very accessible. The condo was a premium location with an easy walk to “town” for shopping and restaurants. We received excellent communication from the owners and knew that they were available for any questions or concerns we would have during our stay. We’re already talking about a return trip and would most definitely return to Duck AND this wonderful condo!

Our Happy Place

We had a wonderful week in Jimmy and Wendy’s condo! They were great to work with and have obviously put considerable time and attention into providing a memorable OBX experience! The condo is clean, beautifully decorated, and allows for privacy in each of the bedrooms. We loved spending mornings on the deck watching the sunrise and being able to always see the ocean. Access to the beach is unbeatable and the screened porch was great for storing all of our chairs, etc. Duck has always been our “happy place” and we hope to return to Jimmy and Wendy’s condo on our next visit!

Great location!

Fantastic stay in Duck!

I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our week! Jim was such a great host, clear instructions and was extremely quick to respond and the condo was absolutely beautiful. The location in Duck was ideal and the property, beach and condo unit were all perfect.

Outstanding Rental!

We couldn’t be more pleased with our stay at this fabulous condo. Jim and Wendy are so friendly and kind and have appointed the most perfect home for a convenient beach stay. The condo is updated and has a wonderful layout for a family of 4 or 5. We especially appreciated the short distance to the beach and pool…and the amazing views. Sitting out on the porch listening to the ocean waves crash was the perfect way to end each day. We will be back!

Beach Vacation in Duck, NC

The inside of the condo is great. You can definitely tell it has had some recent remodeling. Great view of the ocean from the balcony. King size bed was very comfy! Very quick and short walk to the beach. Small condo community. Only issue we had is the condo below us had a lot of noise but think that was a one off situation with the group that was renting the condo for a few days as it was quiet once they left and a new group checked in.

Perfect Duck Condo!!

Amazing view, perfect size, cute decor, clean, everything you can possibly need, can’t say enough good things!! Didn’t hurt that our weather was 80 with full sun for 7 days - pure happiness!! All the reviews, descriptions and photos are accurate. We are spoiled and brought our own coffee maker for pods but there is a perfectly good one that makes pots and coffee grinder. Loved the screened entry area for storing sandy beach supplies! Again amazing ocean view! The exterior of the condos is dated and weathered but inside was adorable and felt new. And could use an elevator if you have a disability. Jimmy says there are exterior renovations coming. Highly recommend Duck and this awesome rental !!

Family Summer Vacation

My family (myself, husband, 23 yo, 20 yo and 17 yo) stayed in the condo the first week of June. The condo is wonderful and has great ocean views. Parking is great and it’s an easy walk to the beach. The Duck boardwalk is about half a mile away. Again an easy walk or bike ride. We got bikes for the week and used them a lot. Overall a wonderful stay and would definitely stay here again.

Peaceful, easy feeling

We loved the location, an easy walk into Duck to enjoy the sound side boardwalk, and a very short, beautiful walkway from the condo to the beach ( with bunnies that appeared before dusk each night! ) The condo’s back porch is so very peaceful, with a high table and chairs to enjoy a glass of wine or a meal or a good book while looking out over the ocean and beautiful dunes, with nothing obstructing the view. We truly had a ‘peaceful, easy feeling’ staying in this lovely condo!

Duck condo

What a wonderful end unit condo! Lots of sitting on the deck in the mornings watching the sunrise or just hanging out anytime of day, very relaxing and quiet, all you hear are the waves and the birds. The condo has everything you would need for a day at the beach from beach chairs to sand toys! And it’s a very easy walk to the beach on the boardwalk path from the condo. Everything in the condo is well stocked for all your cooking or baking needs! Also just a quick drive or walk into the town of duck for shopping and restaurants! We would definitely stay in this condo again!!

A great getaway

Wendy and Jimmy’s property was perfect! It was clean, well stocked and had a great ocean view right from their condo! Everything regarding check in and out was seamless. Jimmy reached out a couple of times during our stay to see if we needed anything, which was very thoughtful! The location is perfect- you could take a nice walk right into town. We love Duck and would come back to Jimmy and Wendy’s property in a heartbeat! Thank you for a great place to stay on our vacation!

Excellent Stay

We loved our short stay in this condo. It is updated, clean, and well-appointed. The beach is just over the dune with easy access. Access to the condo was also easy, the owner was very responsive and helpful with tips on restaurants and activities. The photos in the listing are very accurate. We were just a party of two (retired, no kids) so there was plenty of room to spread out. We only used the master bedroom but the other two are very nice. The kitchen is nicely outfitted. The walk to town was easy. There are miles of bike paths so that would also be a fun way to get around. The boardwalk in Duck is good way to explore the local shops. Being from Texas, morning coffee on the deck with a beautiful Atlantic Ocean sunrise was quite the treat! Sunsets on the sound, also special. We definitely would recommend this unit. The location was perfect for our needs.

Amazing vacation!

This vacation was just what our busy family of 5 needed! The owner, Jimmy, was extremely responsive during the booking process as well as during our stay. The condo was perfect for us - plenty of space to spread out plus an awesome table that we used every night for board games. The views from inside as well as the deck were stunning and we were so close to the ocean! We had a great spot on the beach every day, played in the pool at least twice, and were in close proximity to everything we needed in town, from mini golf to grocery store to jet skiing. We will absolutely rent this cute place again!

Quite family time

This was our first time to OBX and renting a condo. Location of condo was nice and very quiet. Place was clean. The porch was nice to store all our beach and pool stuff. They even had stuff there to use if we forgot something. Bedrooms are really nice and lots of closet space. The beds are amazing! Soo comfy!!! Bathrooms could be bigger but we are use to having big bathrooms so may not bother other people. The kitchen was nice and had everything we needed to make meals. The balcony has a nice table and chairs, you could hear the ocean faintly in the background. You can see the ocean but not the beach. We had a nice relaxing time with the family. If you want peace and quite this is the place!

Perfect location!

We had a fantastic week at the Flying Duckman! The house was everything our family of 4 could ever want in a beach rental - quick walk to the beach, unobstructed ocean view from the balcony, great pool on site, comfortable sleeping and lounging arrangements, streaming service access AND access to regular tv, and all the necessary kitchen supplies. Communication with Jimmy was prompt and easy. We plan to book again for next year and foresee this house being the setting for many great future memories as well!
