It was nice to have the comfort of a home, but we felt like we could not go anywhere but in our room - there was a pathway of carpets with a "welcome" mat at the entrance of each room The room on the picture was encumbered with mattresses and linen for other guests, I suppose... I did not see the TV.

Very unfriendly staff. Bad communication due yo heavy accent. The room was not a available. No one there to check in even 20 min. after che k in time. Had to all many times, no call back. Left to find somewhere else to stay and got charged 1/2 price. Thief.

Do not make booking of this place!

I booked this place for my husband as there was no other places to book. When my husband arrived with two super larger suitcases, he were informed that there was no rooms left and our room was canceled even though I confirmed my booking through Expedia and still got the confirmation number with him. you can imagine such tragic situation my husband had. He flight 15 hours from the other side of earth and but when he was arrived, he has no room nor nowhere else to go as most hotels are fully booked due to weekend. he asked the owner to pay taxi charge as he had to relocate to other hotel.but the owner said she has no responsible on that and told us to talk to Expedia. this is completely unacceptable and this guest house and Expedia completely ruined our first impression of Canada. My recommendation: Do not make booking of this place if you don't want to be in trouble when you visit in Waterloo.

If you are advertising a living room space it should be available not cluttered with items and rooed off from use. Checking in needs to be smoother as i needed to ho get cash from bank to pay. I assumed i had paid through expedia. Return of ny deposit was a nightmare yoo

Close to Hwy 85 and Waterloo University. You will need to drive a little bit to get to the restaurants downtown but it is only an easy 10 minute drive. Farmer’s Market at St Jacobs is only a 10 minute drive to the north

Very disappointing Guest House

This is not a hotel. It is a house. I smelled terrible. The basement has a tenant with same entrance to house as "guests". There is no access to any seating area as the living room had furniture piled up with blankets on the pile with signs that read "off limits" and " do not use" There was a TV in a box in the living room as well but no TV for guest use. The kitchen had piles on the table and countertop that read. " Do not use" . It seemed like the owners were away for a while and just renting out rooms to unsuspecting guests as if it were a "hotel" but you couldn't use any furniture except the bed in the guest room. There were 3 bedrooms upstairs in the house and the guest room was small with a queen sized bed. The bathroom was dirty and was shared with the other rooms so no privacy. The owner had to meet us there as no one lived on the premises for us to pay. She looked at the toilet as she was showing us the room and facilities and flushed it as she said " Oh, it clean... no one use it" Then proceeded to take tissue and wipe off stains under the toilet seat . I could see the black mould in the toilet rim from the hall way.. we did not stay...

Guest room with en suite in large house.

The bed was large and comfortable but the bathroom was not clean. The sink and shower had not been sprayed and wiped. Thankfully we had brought our own soap for the soaps provided were used. However the towels were clean and new.

Turned away at the door

Me and my friend are two young female college students and we’ve never been to the area and we’re from the US so practically no cell service. I messaged the owner and told her we’d be arriving a bit later and she said that was fine. The traffic became crazy and we got there about half an hour later than expected. The owner was not there and the person that was told us we weren’t allowed in and barely made an effort to reach out to the owner. He told us just to cancel as we stood freezing on their doorstep. THE PRICE IS CHEAP BUT ITS NOT WORTH IT!!!

Frustration itself

Pros: -Clean room Cons: -Owner lied about my credit card not working and notified me of it the evening prior to my arrival date -Owner and family were quite loud upstairs from my basement guest room until 11pm during first night of stay -Caught three spiders during first night of stay -Had to purchase my own bar of soap -Bed was not made upon arrival -Washing machine's been on all night during second night of stay, that I needed music from my earbuds to fall asleep -Only one Rewards point was given when I stayed for three nights because there was a discrepancy in amount paid, for I had to pay a surcharge for having paid by a credit card. Currently under investigation to rectify such situation, during which Brian, one of the managers or hotels.com, spoke to me with an angry tone of voice as if I was the culprit for paying a different amount than listed on the booking

In Waterloo for 3 days

I arrived very late in the evening, the check-in was fine, as well as the welcome from the owner. There are three bedrooms sharing the same bath, The room and the bath were clean upon the arrival, but they have been never cleaned during my stay. There was only one soap and one shampoo in the bathroom, while the shower gel was diluted with water, thus completely inappropriate. Breakfast was not available before 10.30 am, and thus was not required. Unforeseen surcharge was applied ( 2.65% of the total amount) for payment by credit card.

Do not stay Here!! go to a hotel! Helen is crazy

The kitchen was dirty. Grease all over stove, no room to prep food on counter , the compost was very stinky, no tea towels or dish clothes. no hand towels, no lights in the living room. A tenant lives there and asked us to move our car from driveway so he could park in garage, so we parked on the street, and got a ticket. When we approached Helen, the land lady, she told us she would pay if we lied to hotel.com and say we cancelled the reservation so she would not have to pay fee and keep our cash. We refused to lie, and she would not pay for ticket

Comfort and value

Picking up our kids at the university and this was close, quiet, clean and owner was friendly and accommodating! I recommend especially if you need a place to get a good night sleep without all the extras!
