There is so much to do from the front door and loads more after a short drive.
This time we walked to Brough and back across fields and hills, and had fish and chips at the pub along the bridleway in Nateby (examples of front door excursions there) and we also walked along a stretch of the Pennine Way to Low Force and High Force, and explored some of the high routes along the Mallerstang (we used a car to get to those places).
There is so much we have not yet explored, including the limestone pavement above Orton and the walk to Keld. I still dream of climbing Mickle Fell, even though every time I get a permit my chosen weekend is a wash-out of Noah proportions. I can hope.
It's a great place to get back to, with a good kitchen, a comfy lounge and a proper table. I love a proper table.
