This cottage is a little slice of heaven. The lodge is beautiful, clean, comfortable and just excellent for what we needed. We could have stared at the Loch for ages. Not one of us was ready to leave.

Es ist eine sehr tolle Unterkunft, sehr stilvoll eingerichtet und durch frische Blumen mit einer persönlichen Note versehen, so dass man sich willkommen fühlt. Der Blick auf den Loch Leven ist fantastisch.Einzig, die Straße, die direkt vor dem Grundstück entlang führt ist laut und stört. Aber der Rest entschädigt

An excellent cottage in an ideal location. We were unlucky in that previous occupants must have had dogs and there was a strong smell of wet dog especially in the lounge and shower room. It took until mid week to clear with lots of open windows and perfume spraying. However, cleanliness otherwise was very good. The cottage was well equipped apart from saucepans. We had to buy one as there were not two large enough to cook pasta and a sauce for 5 adults. The frying pans had seen better days. On the whole we would recommend it, especially if you are ok with dogs.

Scotland winter

Really nice cottage, perfect for the family. Great location to explore the local and wider area, Edinburgh, St Andrews and mountains all within reach. Local loch beautiful. Shona very helpful, and really easy to deal with.

Very cute stay

The cottage is nice and quiet, easy to reach and has everything you need. It could have more cutlery for convenience, but still the kitchen is well equipped. There are many things to do nearby and the lake view in the evening is stunning. It says in the description that there‘s a whirlpool - but there isn‘t. All in all very nice little stay.

Beautiful gate house

Lovely views, lots of privacy, super comfy beds. Very walkable to Loch Leven Larder and the Balgedie Toll (2 of our favorite places every time we visit Scotland to visit family). Small and feels like staying at your grandma’s cozy little house. Just what we needed. Thank you!

We had a great time! The property is exactly as advertised! We used the house as a base to try to visit as much as possible. Our friendly host meet us at the door even though we arrived very late! We took her advise and visited Loch Leven and Falkland and they were well worth the time. I wish we had more time! We would highly recommend and really enjoyed the gardens and views.

Excellent Location for Exploring Locally and Beyond

Very easy corresponding with Shona (and nice to meet her too). We had two small dogs and it was no problem with them in the enclosed in the lovely garden and some great walks in the area - and up the hill for wonderful views near the Gate Lodge. There are fabulous views across to the Loch from the garden and the Lodge.. We had to endure some wet days so the Lodge was cosy to return to in the afternoons/evenings. The washer/dryer was useful for wet clothes! Welll equipped and the bathrooms, in particular, have been done done up nicely. Lots of space for the two of us using the two double rooms. If we had stayed longer, we’d have played some of the many games there. Lots of information leaflets too.

A beautiful and clean cottage in stunning surrounding.

We stayed in the Balgedie Cottage two nights and could not be happier. The surrounding and the cottage itself are beautiful. Cottage is lovely decorated and very comfortable. In colder months (we stayed in October) you can easily bump up the heating to make it all cosy. Shona the owner was very helpful and went over and beyond to resolve any minor (very minor) issues. The area is stunning with woodland walks and hills at the back. Kids also loved it, particulary seeing how real potatoes grow! ;) Highly highly recommended and we will be returning!

Wonderful place

The Cottage is the most wonderful place to stay at Loch Leven. The views are stunning, the cottage cosy and absolutely tidy and Shona and Mary are the most nice persons. Everything you need to feel at home is provided. We enjoyed our time very, very much and we are sure to come back. We can highly recommend it.

Stop looking and book it already

Easter Balgedie Lodge was a perfect home-away-from home for my family. The home itself was perfect: clean and comfortable with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Every room in the house is spacious with careful and thoughtful attention to detail. The beds were comfortable and the linens soft. But the cherry on top of all that perfection was the setting and the stunning views! The garden was lovely and fragrant, the view of the Loch stunning. No matter which way you turn, every view looks like a postcard. It was amazing and at the end of our stay, I genuinely didn't want to leave! Oh! Every person we met was genuine and kind, as well. Mary (the person who checked us in) was very nice and helpful. The local folks at the Balgedie Toll Tavern were great, and the food there was quite good! Don't miss stopping in at Loch Leven's Larder! It's a gem of a gift shop, a great place to pop in for a coffee, and there's easy access to the Heritage Trail around Loch Leven there. Seriously, stop looking for alternatives and book this gorgeous lodge. It's perfect in every way and you won't regret it!

Such a pretty, tranquil view

A lovely cottage in a great location. The view of Loch Leven and the ever-changing sky above it is mesmerising. The cottage itself is comfy and nicely equipped with everything you need. Great location for exploring Loch Leven and the famous castle. Good beaches nearby - we loved Burntisland.

A lovely place from where to explore this part of Scotland. A welcome pack and fresh milk in the fridge on arrival a lovely touch. Nice to meet such a lovely owner for whom nothing was too much trouble.
