Enjoying Summer in Devon

We really enjoyed our holidays in Devon, espicially in the 'Island House'. It was a really loveloy place to stay, clean, big enough for us 8 people, really enough bathrooms, 2 parking spaces in front of the building and so on ...Sure, it is an old building, keep that in mind, an you'll love this place.Thank you mary, we'd like to visit you again!

A very well equipped house and the wi-fi was fine. Lovely view and an excellent pub 2 doors away plus there is a very good farm shop/cafe a few minutes away by car. The owners were very helpful in providing a lot of useful information before our visit. The children in our group enjoyed playing on the nearby village green and on the beach at Slapton Sands.

Amazing house

Christmas 2024

We had a magical Christmas here. The house is Beautiful with lots of character. Big spacious rooms with a wonderful view of the village and the sea from the master bedroom.Lovely pub 3 doors down. The scenery is second to none. This house was exactly what we needed and will definitely book again. 10/10

Paradise in Devon

Superb property in Stokenham . Perfect for large families and friends. Ideal location for Dartmouth and Salcombe and all of the South Hams. Looking forward to many more visits. Island House has everything as listed in the description. Owners are very nice and great to speak to.

South Devon at it’s finest!!

A beautiful homely cottage situated in a gorgeous village with amazing views from the windows. Beautiful village pub with amazing food. Walks from the door to the breathtaking South West coast footpath and beaches. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!

Wonderful stay

We had a fantastic stay at Island House. This property is close to the beach and shops (short drive) and a 2 minute walk to a wonderful pub. Spacious and comfortable house with everything one would need. Fantastic!

Lovely Stay

A great property for our two families to enjoy a lovely stay in south Devon. The children loved having the green so close that they could regularly go over and play and the local beaches are not far and lovely.

Fantastic Stay

We had an amazing time and the photos certainly do not do the property justice and the location was brilliant for walking and exploring the coastline. Lovely pub down the road (The Tradesman's Arms) who went out of their way to provide help and assistance plus amazing food! Thank you.

Fab property,with everythingyou need to self cater. Lovely garden although very steep steps for our 1yr old grandson. The 3 children loved the park right opposite the house. There are lots of amazing beaches really close, and the village has 2 lovely pubs

Suitability

The property was perfect for our purposes with two double beds and four single beds. It was clean and tidy and had all the facilities and appliances that we needed. The village was small and picturesque with two excellent pubs that provided good food, either as takeaway or eating in. Both were careful with covid rules. Everyone in the village was friendly and the beach was a walk away.

Amazing house.

The house is absolutely lovely. The views from the house are stunning. Bedrooms are large and comfortable. The kitchen has pretty much everything you need. The garden is an added bonus. We loved our stay.

Happy holidays in the best area of south Devon

What a holiday the village the house and area all stunning. With three small children everything was easy and the house PERFECT. The kitchen facilities are particularly good for a rental property, with everything you could need. The garden, common, pub and beautiful church just makes everything easy. The best asset is the house’s location great for Dartmouth Salcombe the surrounding countryside and the start bay inn. Thanks for putting this place on homeaway.

Comfortable, large, house!

This house was exactly what we needed! My partner and I, plus a few friends, reserved the house for a week. We were visiting from the US .. seeing England for the first time. We had everything we needed. The kitchen was great! We had plenty of seating at the big dining room table. Everyone had their own bedroom. The bathroom with the shower was roomy and working well. The house is close to the two local pubs, and a short walk to the beach in Torcross. We were without a car and used the local buses. Nearest bus stop is just across the village green near the Church. We had a wonderful time!

Enjoyed our stay very much the south hams is a great area to holiday

House was very spacious all the rooms were big, garden was interesting ,location was good, bathroom could do with a make over, large enough to have a separate shower, utensils need updating but certainly did not put us off , half hour stroll to the beach so over all we thought it good
