Nice house in a very nice area. Very close to everything you might need. But they really need to fix the steps going upstairs. They are dangerous. Broken in places and makes the worse noise. They might need to update the entrance door with a better locking system. I won’t be staying here again. Not until these things have been fixed.

Very disappointing trip. We got to the house and it was 85 degress inside. We turned the air on but after 3 hours, it had only cooled down 2 degrees. We reaced out to the host for guidance. The host said the storms coming in should cool off the house. This was a ridiculous response. We communicated again that the house had not cooled down and got no further response from her. We then reached out to VRBO for support. They reached out to the host and recommended the host to send a technician to look at the air unit. The host refused. We has to cancel our anniversary dinner becasue we could not leave our dog in the kennel in the heat. We ended up riding around in our truck to keep cool. It was a miserable hot night, not getting below 80 degrees and the bedroom was even hotter. This was the worst host I have experienced using VRBO. If you stay here in the summer, be prepared to sweat. Definitely would not recommend.

Good location with everything you need

This home was located right outside of the town of Kilmarnock. A morning stroll to get breakfast and an evening walk to get dinner. House was perfect and clean. It had just enough space for our family.

Convenience

Took my son for a golf weekend. The house was within 25 minutes of the 2 courses we played and only a few blocks from downtown main street. After golfing all day, we were able to park the car at the house and walk to dinner, local shops and of course the brewery only 4 blocks away. The house was comfortable and the neighborhood quiet.

This is the second time we've stayed here. We love it just as much as before! Plus, we were comfortable and familiar! We typically put our 4 yr old in the smaller of the two upstairs rooms. We tuck the more fragile things in a closet and she does great! We will be returning any time we need to be in the area for family functions!

Biggest impression is that it's an older house with lots of older furniture, etc. - except for the kitchen, which is modernized. Bathrooms are small. Never did manage to fully figure out the television. Needs a guestbook on site with instructions for TV, Internet connection, lighting, etc. Not for those who want something shiny and new. Reminded me of staying at my Grandma's house in the 1950's - neat and tidy enough, nice neighborhood location, but showing some age.

Comfortable well-equipped house in excellent location

This is a roomy well-equipped home with fun and interesting decor. It is conveniently located in a very nice neighborhood near restaurants, shopping and entertainment. The check-in and check-out were seamless. The owner quickly responded to all inquiries.

Wonderful property, beautifully decorated and appointed with everything you could need for a stay in Kilmarnock. Warm and inviting, with a lovely mix of antiques and traditional comfortable furnishings. The owner is incredibly responsive and thoughtful. .

Revisiting Roots With Family

Nice, older house in the heart of town

The Kilmarnock house is convenient to downtown, an easy walk to the old town area and the coffee shop is two blocks away- a bonus! The house is older, decorated to enhance its age, with many seating and visiting areas. The two bathrooms are clean and everything works well. We were there when it was cold and the heater did a fine job of keeping us comfy. The king bed downstairs (the only one we used) was quite comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of cookware and serving supplies, and there are spices and other pantry items left by other users available, so stop by the house before you go to the grocery store! The neighborhood is quiet and seems very safe. The price is very reasonable for the value! And the owner is very responsive, friendly and helpful without being overbearing in the least. It’s not the house for everyone (seems like small children might find things to get into!) but for adults and older kids it is a great choice! Well done!

Traveling for Work

I was in town for a couple nights as I was attending a meeting. I found the place to be cozy and convenient. It's just about a block away from a coffee house. I appreciated the character of the home and the design of the interior, which contributed to me feeling comfortable in the space.

Charming cottage

The home was easy to find, charming and tasteful decorated. Every room was cozy and easy to navigate. We especially enjoyed what we called the puzzle room, a closed in porch with a perfect puzzle table and chairs with a comfortable chair off to the side. We would definitely stay here again.

A house built to last

This house is a marvel of when construction was done the good old fashioned way. Located in a great neighborhood within easy walking distance to downtown Kilmarnock. The property is well maintained and a pleasure to occupy.

Convenient, comfortable home

Several members of my family and I were in the Kilmarnock area for a reunion and visits to familiar places. We had a wonderful stay in this home, filled with interesting antiques, art pieces, and comfy furniture. Plus was its location right up a block from an awesome coffeehouse/bakery where we purchased breakfast items. The neighborhood was very peaceful.
