We enjoyed very much our stay. It is a great location, close to beach access and within easy walking distance to great restaurants and ice cream shops. The beds are comfortable, and the open floorplan was ideal for our family of five. That said, there are some very easy lifts the hosts could do to make it a 5-star stay.
I didn't notice in advance that sheets and towels are not provided, but I strongly encourage the hosts to reconsider this practice. Bringing five sets of bed sheets, beach towels, and bath towels takes up considerable trunk space. Making beds, stripping beds, washing and folding sheets and towels is exactly the type of work we're all trying to avoid when we go on vacation.
Next, the hosts require guests to provide paper towels and toilet paper for the next guests, saying they hate for renters to arrive and have none of these "necessities", but don't provide them themselves. Why not? The total cost is over $500 a night, but doesn't include toilet paper? Related, while dish machine soap is provided, sponges and dish soap for washing pots, pans, sheet trays, etc. is not, so we had to go buy those items as well. Also no kitchen towels or hot pads.
Providing these amenities and services would go a long way. As a restaurant owner, I sympathize with the difficulty in finding help (to wash sheets and make beds). That said, I'm also a fellow hospitality professional, and these amenities are, in my opinion, the bare minimum required in a hotel or short-term rental.
