Nice Stay

It was worth it for the amount paid. I enjoyed are we stayed in it was close enough to everything we wanted to do. It could have been a little cleaner. Tops of dressers were pretty dusty and some dishes were not clean. No bad experiences though

Spring break

We loved the property. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the Goose family who were our outdoor companions all week, visiting both morning and at dusk. We were disappointed that the pool is not available until Memorial Day.

Amazing gem exactly as advertised!

The home was perfect for our family of four. Things we loved include the natural and comfortable decor, the fully stocked kitchen, the space in the open living area, the VIEW, the dock from which to fish, the community pool and accessible sound beach area... We could go on. The beds and sofa were very comfortable, a welcome plus! Some previous reviewers noted that the house faces north so you don't actually get to see the sunset however you can see the brilliant colors and we were out there several nights listening to the Cicadas sing before they settled in for the night. We actually LOVED that the back of the house didn't directly face west because we didn't have to deal with the sun beating in the windows all afternoon. It was perfect! If you want to fish, visit Billy's just down the road to pick up some frozen squid. Our friendly neighbor recommended it and my husband and son actually caught fish when they used the squid. Released of course, but don't forget to get a fishing license. This house was wonderful, especially with that view. We all agreed that we'd definitely stay there again. Worth noting is that tenants are asked to sweep and vacuum the floors upon vacating, which wouldn't normally be a big deal but we weren't advised in advance so having to do that on top of the cleaning fee didn't sit right. But the vacuum cleaner doesn't work so it proved to be a more tedious chore than it should have been. We did report it when we dropped off the keys.

Perfect spot

Very nice home on the water; we were able to see ducks, ospreys, hummingbirds, herons, gulls, and crabs. We caught some fish (speckle trout, redfish, and mackerel), rode our paddle board and relaxed on the deck. The sunset at the neighborhood park was spectacular. Great place for families with small and/or young children, especially kids afraid of large waves.

Almost perfect

This property is amazing!! The house is super cute, but very poorly insulated, which led to the AC not being able to cool the house below 76° during our stay, and that was over night. We came home to 85° in the house daily and had to go out and Purchase fans for the bedrooms just so we could sleep at night. Besides that, the neighbors were very friendly, and we enjoyed the harbour and dock. The dock could definitely be longer and needs to have some hooks attached to it for tieing up your boat, as we had to figure out how to tie our boat up without them. Also thankfully we have a small boat as anything bigger wouldnt have even made it to the dock as it is very short and the water is very shallow. The entire week the whole family kept commenting on what we would add/improve if we lived in the house as we genuinely loved the view, and neighbors. There was also not much selection in Skillets for cooking so I would recommend bringing your own, plenty of Pots however, just no skillets.

Perfect home

Perfect place for a quiet get away. The deck overlooking the water is the best part. Would stay there again. Heck I'd buy the place I loved it so much. You don't have to worry about being hot. The AC will freeze you. So quiet and peaceful watching the fish jump and birds sing. Close enough to enjoy all the OBX fun!!

Loved this property. Right on the sound, amazing breeze. Smaller crab off the dock but if patient can catch decent size ones. Many add ons included in the house. Will be staying year after year. Our new vacation spot

Great soundside option!

Perfect, quiet stay, with plenty of options nearby. We loved being able to go right out and kayak in the sound and fish off the dock. Crabbing is a great source of entertainment and we tried to see what we could catch every day! Sit on the deck or the dock and watch the sunset at night after a day at the beach or pool.

Wonderful house, sound view and location

Lovely house, the sound view alone is worth staying at this house. We loved the large deck, access to the sound and the view, we also rented a kayak and paddled and swam in the sound. About a 10-15 min drive to the beaches, the community where this house is located is awesome with access to a great salt water pool. We would love to rent this house again.

Great Family Vacation Spot

Great location on the sound, kids can swim on location, but if you are looking to do more beach activities, this location is a 15 minute commute to closest public beach access, so plan accordingly for beach days. The house has all the essentials for cooking and more. They even have a cabinet full of board games, books and movies which is great for family time, especially if you get a day of bad weather. Overall this house was awesome for a relaxing vacation.

Sound view is a beautiful home the view is amazing

We had a great week here. The house was well stocked and very clean. You can no longer access the water easily and currently the water is so low it made fishing and crabbing impossible however a short drive down the road you can do both at the marina. The deck could use a little love there is now only a small picnic table. Overall we had great stay!

Stunning sound views in quiet and private location

We spent a week at the property and our family thoroughly enjoyed the time there. The property is the top part of the house (three bedrooms and two baths) and the bottom part is unused/locked. The location and views of the sound are great. Tucked away in Colington Harbour, which is a 10 minute drive from the beaches in Kill Devil Hills, and also pretty centric if you plan to go to both northern and southern parts of OBX. The house had a nice beach feel to it with tasteful decor and furnishings. Perhaps our only complaint is that the house was not fully cleaned prior to our arrival. Hard to beat coffee in the morning with the sound views, beautiful sunsets, awesome neighbors, and kids (8 and 6) loved getting in the water and hunting for crabs and other critters.

We loved this house!

We had a great experience! The home was exactly as listed and the check in and check out was extremely fast and simple. The views from the home are breathtaking and the neighbors were fantastic! The pool was great - it was never crowded. The neighborhood is quiet and far enough away from the hustle and bustle while still being convenient for going to the beach, out to dinner, etc. The kitchen was well-stocked - we had everything we needed. We were able to catch some catfish off the dock, and we even caught a few eels!

Stunning sunrises and sunsets

Our family loved the safe neighborhood, stunning sunrises and sunsets each day, the water, nature, community pool and beach area. Kids enjoyed the bunk beds! Neighbors were so friendly. We paddle boarded most days and really enjoyed our time away!

Loved it!

We had a great time at this property! It completely meet our expectations! The view was amazing every morning and at night. The kids enjoyed the water and the fishing. It was a very relaxing location! The community pool was a great pluse! We recommend this location! We had seven in our group and this place is perfect for 7 or less! We even got to see dolphins swimming in the bay one morning from our deck! The boys enjoyed swimming in the bay or at the pool when we where not at the beach. The beach is only about a 10 min drive! Lots of fishing at the outerbanks! Lots of great restaurants for dinner and shopping.We would definitely return to this location!
