My husband and I recently stayed here and had an awful experience. The place is a townhouse, and the layout and furnishings are nice. It is away from the beach, but I knew that and was fine with that. We had a couple of major issues, though, and we actually left halfway through our stay. The house was not super clean- not enough for us to leave, but lots of details that needed attending. For example, it was clear the dining room table had not been thoroughly wiped, there were stains on the walls and carpet, the space beside the dryer was filthy, the blades on the ceiling fan in the living room were coated with dirt/dust. Not bad enough to leave, though. Problem was that the place had roaches- big nasty roaches, and there were a lot of them. I called for assistance and was basically dismissed by the agent, telling me these were just palmetto bugs, and they are common in the OBX. I can't tell you how mad this made me- I've been staying in the OBX for years, and I live in Mississippi, and I know what a roach infestation looks like versus a bug that just came in the door with you. She offered to have the place sprayed or give me another one of their rooms, but I declined both. I did not want to smell/ inhale the roach spray, and I did not trust that another one of their locations would not have roaches also. I called twice and asked to speak with management, but was told the first time there was no one available until Monday, and then that there were all "in a meeting."
