Great VRBO

We really enjoyed our stay at this home. It wasn’t perfect but it was a great rental for our week on Maui! The property is very nice, the house was clean, and the neighborhood is both nice and close to the beach. There was a small hiccup with the AC when we first arrived but the property manager gave us some guidance and resolved the issue very quickly. The house three doors down on the corner is a bit of a hoarders den and that diminishes the look and feel of the neighborhood, but the other homes are nice. Be aware that the backyard; BBQ and hot tub and washing machine/dryer are shared. None of that was an issue for us except the hot tub (which had leaves and dirt in it so we didn’t use it). Overall it was an enjoyable experience staying there…it was a very nice rental for 3 couples.

Nice house for 3 couples or family

We went to Hawaii after a wedding in California and stayed in here. First floor of a 2 unit house. Three bedrooms two bathrooms. Nice quiet neighborhood. Safe. Nice house with private backyard. It has a hot tub but we didn’t use it and the pizza oven was not clean so we did not use that either. Kitchen had everything we needed. Bedrooms were nice sizes for a bed and dresser. Able to walk to a few places for coffee and dinner was about a mile and a half. Overall nice house for the price.

My first bad review

The backyard is beautiful! Imo the nicest feature of this property. Everything was filthy the bathroom floors left black marks on towels from drying up the floor. The outdoor furniture hadn't been washed in idk how long. The beds were hard as rocks. The master bedroom has a major issue with the a/c leaking on the floor, rotting the hardwood floors. There were cockroaches. We kept everything tidy and wiped up but it didn't seem to matter. The house two doors up is a nightmare episode of Hoarders and is probably the culprit. The property manager was responsive when the toilet broke and when we needed access to the safe. I would not recommend this house for the amount of money we paid to stay it was disappointing.

A week in Maui

First let me say that we are truly grateful to our host for allowing us to reschedule our week in Maui (COVID prevented us from visiting last year). Our host was highly responsive to our questions and requests. The neighborhood is working class but quiet and well kept. Best part of the property was the kitchen - open, attractive and very well stocked. There were 6 of us and there was plenty of room for everyone. Some fixtures were dated and using the air conditioning was somewhat challenging. The low spot for us were the advertised bicycles. We're all active and had counted on the bicycles for transportation. They were neglected beyond repair. Overall we found this property a great value and would stay here again.

Ladies Trip 2021

Great space for a group of 5 ladies who like to cook. Close to the beach and frankly anywhere you’d like to go the island. There was plenty of space, the hot tub was an added bonus. Only downside was parking was tight, doable but tight. It was great to have all the beach toys in the shed, made my life so much easier and made me feel less wasteful.

Very clean and nice property that is centrally located

Overall the property was clean, centrally located to restaurants, and walking distance to the beach. The property isn’t actually a single family home but more like a triplex, so there isn’t complete privacy in the shared backyard since there are other tenants. The smaller of the three bedrooms didn’t have an air condition and it’s needed, particularly if reserving this property in the summer months.

Stay for Son's Wedding

Thank you for the opportunity to stay at your property. We had a wonderful time enjoying the back yard, having a BBQ and enjoying the lovely garden, trees and cool breezes! The home is lovely. The only challenge we had was trying to cool off in the house with the air conditioning being on a timer as the previous guest indicated. Unfortunately, my daughter slept in the 3rd bedroom, which was too hot for her to be comfortable. In addition, we didn't realize that we needed additional trash bags for our stay. Four small trash bags were provided for an 8 night stay, with the requirement of emptying trash daily that meant we had to grab some at the market which is a little out of the norm for us on vacation. We made it work however and enjoyed our time! If you need a place to gather and have a home base while seeing all the sites, this is a great option.

Silly AC Limits -- beware

READ FOR AC NOTE. Overall we ended up enjoying the property for our stay, but it wasn't without a few surprises. It is a combined property, like a townhome style with multiple independent homes with their own entrances. The backyard itself is shared between these properties. The AC setup was mystifying though, for a house at this cost I'd expect comfort, but the owner surely does not feel the same. They have AC, but no thermostat control, only a unique timer button that activates power to the AC for limited durations (maxing out at a 2hr increment). These in-wall switches are easy to search online however -- so AC TIP: Simply press and hold the top button to activate OVERRIDE mode which will keep the switch ON until you decide to turn it off. I'd never advocate for leaving an AC on when you are not using the home, but when you are in the home -- you should be in control. AC TIP 2 -- press the one button on the AC itself (living room) until all 3 lights are lit, otherwise -- with only 1 light lit -- you are just getting a fan running without any actual AC. You're welcome. ;)

Perfect spot to explore the whole island

With the pandemic, it’s wonderful to have a whole house and backyard to ourselves. In the morning, my husband, my mom and I would go for early morning walks and then eat breakfast at the house in the wonderful well stocked kitchen until the kids (young adults) woke up. We stocked up on a few staples at the Costco by the airport. The location was perfect. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. Honestly it was 10-30 minutes to most places we wanted to see (Lahaina, airport, wailea, start of road to Hana and start of road to Haleakala etc). Lots of grocery stores and restaurants nearby. There was a wonderful beach a few blocks away. Don’t go to keaka beach (rocky) and walk a couple blocks more to Kalepolepo beach (by the Hawaiian whale center). It is a.shallow Hawaiian fishpond. Go around 6am (near low tide) and every morning there are a dozen giant Hawaiian green sea turtles sleeping on the rocks/shore. You can walk in less than knee high water to see them. Don’t go too close as this stresses them. The house itself has 3 bedrooms (2 with AC). It is true that we barely needed the AC since keeping the windows open kept the place cool. But we had one day that hit 90 and was humid. I liked the option to turn it on for an hour to cool down. The place was well stocked with towels and even basic toiletries. Beach gear was so helpful to have chairs, umbrellas and coolers and even snorkel fins. We had our own snorkel masks. WiFi was appreciated. Communication from Johnathan was great. We would stay here again. It was a great find.

Excellent place

Our stay here was amazing! The communication with the owner was always very prompt and friendly. The house felt very private and was very clean. The beach down the street was great for little kids (protected by a rock wall). The backyard was our favorite place to hang out. Lots of amenities as listed. Would definitely stay here again. Excellent host and property

This property is just 2 blocks to the beach, is clean and fully equipped with anything you could imagine. The back yard is perfect to enjoy your morning coffee. This property sleeps 6, but would be best suited for 2 couples and a child/children. We had 6 adults and the third bedroom lacked privacy, but otherwise, the property was perfect for our group of 6. Ali is a great host, and easy to connect with. Would definitely recommend this property.

Wonderful place for a family

Great kitchen, spacious living area. Large and very private backyard with lots of plants along the perimeter, a BBQ and tables. Kicking back in Kihei

We loved our time at this Kihei home!There was plenty of room for our two families. It's an easy walk to the beach. We also enjoyed using the bikes to ride into town or to explore nearby beaches. The backyard is quiet, private and a great place to relax and kick back. Also, loved the hot tub! The property manager was very accommodating and communicated well with us. We would definitely return to Maui and this holiday home.

Amazing Place and Owner

Our stay was amazing. It was a perfect spot that had everything we ever needed in the kitchen, bathroom, lots of beach stuff, lots of space, a beautiful backyard with an amazing hot tub, even yoga mats and a lot more! The location was great and the neighborhood was quiet and nice. The owner, Jonathan was super awesome too. He took really good care of us and made sure we had anything we need. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone and everyone!

An Excellent First Stay on Maui!

My family (5 adults total) had a fantastic stay at Johnathans property. The kitchen was very well stocked, the yard and all it’s amenities were wonderful (we didn’t think that a hot tub in a hot place would be so great but it sure was!), and overall we were very easily able to make the house our home for the 10 days we were there.
