We made a very good choice, staying in a condo, rather than a hotel. We appreciated the ability to cook, and of course we had much more room than we would have had in a hotel. The Maui Kamaole location (across from the boat ramp in Kihei) was very good for us, but be aware it`s helpful to have a car, or be accustomed to long walks. `Downtown Kihei` if there is one, is a short drive North, but a pretty long walk. We were 2.2 miles North of our Luau in Wailea--a little less to the shops of Wailea. We were also 2.5 miles South of Kihei Cafe, to give you an example of common distances. We were within sight, though, of the southern-most Kamaole Beach Park, so it`s not as though everything required driving. Note that this rental complex appears to have a mostly older population, which was fine for us.
