"Nice location in quiet village which was very handy for silverstone park & ride. Plenty of parking. Nice room with hotel overall having an oldy world feel. Staff were very friendly accommodating & helpful. Breakfast was included freshly cooked with good range of choices. Evening meal also very nice, good range, freshly cooked & reasonably priced although did take quite a while to arrive but was worth it. "I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. "Very welcoming staff and comfortable stay, we enjoyed eating at the pub too and were able to run a tab on the room which was very convenient. Breakfast was fantastic and varied. Parking was a bit tricky on arrival but was sorted, it’s worth getting in touch before arrival to understand arrangements for this. Would definitely stay again if we visit Oakham in future"

"Staff were great! Room was a terrific size and the bathroom was stellar. Parking was free. There was no breakfast, but the pub downstairs had games and entertainment. It was summer and quite hot so the windows had to be open resulting in a few spiders making their way in, but that would be expected honestly. I would absolutely stay here again!"
