Deer Run Townhome 145A - Luxury Townhome in River Run with Central Air

    This luxury tri-level townhome in West Ketchum has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and can accommodate up to 6 guests. A brand new central air conditioning system was installed in 2025.

    As you enter the townhome, there is a hallway to the right with a full-size bath, a single-sink vanity, and a shower. There is a stack washer/dryer in the hallway closet. Down the hall is one of the 3 bedrooms. It has twin twin-size bunk beds and 36 36-inch flat-screen TV. Access to the one-car garage is located on this level.

    On the second floor are the open living quarters with high ceilings for great light. The living room has a 55-inch flat-screen TV, a gas fireplace, and a ceiling fan. The kitchen has granite countertops and is large and spacious, with 2 barstools at the countertop. The dining table seats 6. Off the dining area is a small deck. The second bedroom is located on this level with a Queen bed and a full-size bath with a double sink vanity and a shower only.

    On the upper level is the primary bedroom with a king-size bed and access to a small deck with 2 chairs. This room has high ceilings with great light and Mt Views. The bathroom is large and spacious with a 2-sink vanity and a large walk-in shower. (The sunken jetted tub is out of order and cannot be used at this time.) There is a large walk-in closet as well.

    Complex Features: Deer Run is close to the bike path, about five blocks from the lifts, and about seven to eight blocks from the center of Ketchum. You can walk or skate on the bike path to the River Run Day Lodge. The area offers a free shuttle that stops about a block away, which will transport you to both ski lifts on Bald Mountain, downtown Ketchum, or the Sun Valley and Elkhorn Resorts.

    Please note: No pets allowed. This unit is professionally managed, and all check-ins are at the Alpine Lodging Office, conveniently located on South Main Street in Ketchum. Self-check-in is not available at the property. We strive to make check-in as quick and easy as possible so you can start enjoying your vacation! Reservations are unit-specific. We do everything possible to keep your reservation in the same property you’ve reserved. If the property has a maintenance emergency, we will contact you with the option to move your reservation to a property of equal or greater value, at no additional cost.

I think the condo was quite good. It was clean and good amenities. My only negative was that the room off the kitchen was small…only 1 couch could fit in that space. For 3 people, that particular family room was small. Other than that, it was great

We had a great stay!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit lived up to its pictures and description. The kitchen was well-stocked, and the layout worked great for my family. Love this location--I would absolutely stay here again!!

Good overall, however…

Little bit of a bait and switch. I search and select on my exacting requirements and having a grill in Summer in Ketchum, ID is one of them. I narrowed my choices to three possible homes and selected this one based on the advertisement and availability of a gas grill. I booked the reservation and immediately took a picture of the confirmation page which featured a gas grill. So when I arrived at the place, lo and behold, no gas grill but two propane tanks on the deck. I look at the listing again online and the gas grill availability was removed. I called property management and they said oops the HOA forbids gas grills. I asked if they could accommodate us somewhere else and they flippantly said no, chuckled, and ended the call. Then they had nerve to ask us if we could be home and available for a HOA check in the middle of the day. Very off-putting and annoying. Location was great and the place was OK.

The garage was a nice addition though we did not use it, plus there was parking in the front of the house. The air conditioning could only be turned down to 70, nothing less making the upstairs a little warmer than the downstairs. The unit was nicely stocked and cleaned. Checking in and checking out was a pain to have to drop off and pick up a key. They are working on the highway so it was a major detour. We were also about 15 minutes early to 4:00 as it's always hard to judge how long it's going to take and they made us wait very close to 4:00 even though the drive is about 15 minutes away to get to the house.

Nice place except poor Air Conditioning, small garage

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Condo was clean and in good condition, but for a place specifically booked because it had AC, the AC was entirely subpar. The condo has one AC unit, but 2 "zones", with a thermostat on the first floor and on the second floor, but none on the third floor. The first floor you could set down to 68, and it was less than that usually down there. The second floor, you could only set to 71 as a low, and it could go to 71, but then would turn off. Meanwhile, the third floor (master bedroom) was easily over 80 and even when the air which was controlled by the second floor thermostat was on, almost no cool air was delivered to the third floor. Management was immediately notified upon check-in, was very rude and terse, and said the only thing she would do is send maintenance to check, but would not call owner to unlock thermostat set to minimum of 71. Maintenance came, cleaned the outside coils, and said the management/owner would need to change minimum setting on thermostat and he would let them know. The following day, still could not set under 71. Management called the end of the day and said the owner was finally reached and claimed the thermostat was not "locked", and the AC was just underpowered for the condo. Clearly it was locked to 71 minimum as the maintenance man saw. We needed to sleep every night with the window/door open very hot at first, then got cold at 3 AM and needed to get up and close it. So much for booking a unit specifically claiming to be a luxury unit with air conditioning! One other negative is the garage is very small. Our mid-sized SUV would not fit in it and needed to park on the street. Location was great, other appliances and fixtures all in good working order.

Reviewer Comments: Had a great stay in Ketchum to escape the Texas heat! The townhome is as described. Perfect location, easily walkable to wherever you might want to visit. Enjoyed the view from both balconies, great places for morning coffee or afternoon drinks. Very clean and well maintained property. Above all we were fortunate enough that we were allowed to checkin a little early. Communication was great, and when the place was ready for us we received a message right away. Thanks for a great getaway vacation.
