This cottage was excellent , well equipped & suited all our needsBeautiful location with lots of walks from the doorstep .Village pub & coffee shop worth a visit. Cottage owners were welcoming. It was clear they have put a lot of care & attention into the cottage to make it comfortable & homely.Would love to go back .

I don’t do this often but just wanted to let the owners know what a great job they are doing with Apple Tree Cottage. This cottage really was lovely. We were so warm and cosy everything thought of clean and tidy best TV we have had in a cottage in Threlkeld which on cold rainy days really helps. Whilst the en-suite was a little compact let’s say, there was a really big family bathroom and our only recommendation would be a proper shower over the bath not the tap handset hung up. If you are looking to stay in Threlkeld if it’s available you must book this cottage you will not be disappointed. The owners were so friendly and most helpful and loved the doggie welcome pack in conservatory a very kind touch. These owners know how to be good hosts!!!! We will be back next year and Apple Tree Cottage now after 16 years staying in Threlkeld would be our absolute first choice. Walking from the doorstep two great pubs and a lovely cafe and easily accessible to the rest of the Lakes. Booths in Keswick just four miles walk is also a bonus. Great parking and whilst adjacent to primary school and recycling point we were not disturbed in the slightest overall really nice quiet location. A benefit for dog owners and to make more child friendly would be a little picket fence around the stone wall just to enclose the garden fully but on the whole absolutely brilliant cottage!!! Thanks for a great holiday

Excellent stay at apple tree cottage. Warm, cozy, clean and in just the perfect place for our family to visit the north lakes. Very clean with plenty of products left for us to keep safe. loveley cottage,very cosy. Lots of walking in the area. Two nice pubs about 400yds away,both dog friendly.Keswick is a short drive away about 4miles.

Apple Tree cottage is a comfortable and spacious property with great views of the beautiful surround

Apple Tree cottage is a comfortable and spacious property with great views of the beautiful surrounding countryside and mountains. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything needed should you wish to cook, even a vegetable steamer. However, the lovely food at the Horse & Farrier means that you can stroll round the corner for a delicious meal, maybe take a torch as there is not much street lighting in Threlkeld. We enjoyed relaxing in the conservatory with a glass of wine after returning from a walk, and the owners kindly provided a welcoming bottle. There are many fantastic walks in this area and a week was not long enough so we hope to return.

Lovely cottage in a brilliant location.

Lovely cottage in a brilliant location. Plenty of room for 6 adults and a little pooch downstairs! Cottage was really warm during a cold spell of weather, and was all warmed up ready for arrival which was nice. The garden isn't fully secure for dogs/children as the raised grass area isn't fenced, but there is quite a big gravel area before the steps up to it-our dog didn't even realise he could run out so it wasn't a problem!

A homely cottage with three good size bedrooms and the owner is next door if you need anything.

A homely cottage with three good size bedrooms and the owner is next door if you need anything. Plenty of kitchen utensils, plates, saucepans etc.. To park three cars takes some manoeuvring but we were able to park one over the road as it was school holidays. The ensuite bathroom was small so the toilet space felt confined but the main bathroom was spacious and there was another toilet downstairs. We were a family party of six adults and one dog and enjoyed our week staying there.

The cottage was clean, comfortable and warm with plenty of hot water. The kitchen was easy to use and eating in was no problem. The only pub in the village doing food wasn't far away and was a good standard. Utility room was useful with washing machine and drier. Showers needed a learning curve to avoid temperature fluctuations, but sorted in the first couple of days. We had a great week despite dodging the showers from the Sunday onwards. The community cafe is excellent and knowledgeable about local walks etc. All in all a really enjoyable week
