Everything was perfect! Met by the owner who explained all we needed to know about the cottage. Maps provided for walks in the area and we could hike straight from the door to the amazing Cumbrian countryside. Idyllic is the word for this lovely cosy home.

The Barn is a nice little place, very cosy on a great location. A nice garden with a nice view. Very quiet. Situated on an ideal spot between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. The owner was very helpful when we had a problem with the fridge. Solved in less than a day! Kitchen very well equipped, everything we needed was there. Why not perfect? Because there was no washingmachine (nothing wrong with washing by hand) and it's not suitable for disabled people (which furtunately we are not. So for us it was indeed perfect! Highly recommended!!!

The cottage is very quietly situated and very nicely decorated. The owner takes care of both the house and the reception. There are many beautiful walks nearby.

This was our third stay at this gorgeous cottage. We loved how close in proximity it is to all the main attractions but also how quiet it is. The cottage is cosy and the fire was lovely for colder days. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Situated in beautiful countryside which presents ample opportunities for interesting walks and within easy driving distance of the attractions of the Lakes District. The "Barn" is beautifully kept and full of little personal touches. We loved it.

The barn is beautiful, gorgeous, cute and so relaxing. Fran has thought of absolutely everything, from a folder with all the information for the property and the whole of the lake district to cozy blankets. Beautiful bedroom and cute ornaments all in keeping with the cottage. The barn is small but perfect. Thankyou for a lovely weekend

Absolutely stunning accommodation and location. The "Barn" is like a TARDIS. Looks small on the outside but so beautiful and spacious on the inside. As soon as you walk in you can tell this is extremely well cared for and very, very clean. Beautiful views out of the windows of the local Fell's. So, so quiet too. All we heard whilst there was the sound of birds and lambs. Gorgeous. Would not hesitate to stay here again in the future. Thanks to Fran for everything. You made our stay SO memorable. XX

If we ever return to this part of the Lakes, this place would definitely be a top pick to stay in again. The place itself is, in my opinion, actually a bit nicer than the photo's with a lovely gas fire place that was very welcome as it rained pretty heavily for the first half of our stay. But when the sun came out almost every window was a picture; lambs, green rolling hills, a busy bird-feeder and fluffy cloud adorned blue skies. The place is clearly loved and little touches like fresh flowers and a few friendly but unobtrusive guiding notes made us few cared for.

“The Barn” was perfect! Very simply and nicely decorated, comfortable, well equipped and convenient to all in the Lakes. Nice walks from house. Owner was very responsive and took great care that all Was Good for us. We really enjoyed the gas fireplace in the evening which produced quite a bit of heat.

We've loved the location of this accommodation. It was perfect for a stay in the Lake District. Fran's communication was quick and she made sure everything was sorted for our arrival. We've had a lovely weekend and will keep this place in mind for a future trip to Kendal.

Hartelijk welkom geheten door eigenaresse. Ze heeft alle inns en outs van het huisje laten zien. Zeer gezellig ingericht met oog voor detail. Verrassingen zoals worteltaart, fles wijn, bloemen stonden klaar. Gebruik van koffie, thee, specerijen, olie e.d. toegestaan. Wandelingen vanaf cottage mogelijk. Heerlijke plek voor vakantie.

This is a very nice, quietly located cottage on the outskirts of Kendal. Kendal itself is very easy to reach, only about 5 min. drive, for trips to the main area of the Lake District you drive about 25 min. but then you are already directly at Lake Windermere. The landlady Fran is very nice and accommodating. All in all a great stay at the edge of the Lake District.

We absolutely loved our weekend at the barn and we really wish we were staying for longer. It's so cosy and full of character! We went for a walk around Grasmere lake & Rydal caves and a for a trip into Kendall. It honestly couldn't have been more perfect. Coffees outside in the morning, listening to the birds. Just bliss. Fran was very welcoming and always on hand to answer any questions. Thank you!

This is a gorgeous find, beautiful cosy barn with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Fran pulls out all the stops and the barn is extra special, a credit to her. It is clean, homely and quiet, a haven for birds and a delight to sit out in the garden. It is close enough to the amenities of Kendal and only a short drive away from the surrounding beautiful lakes. The weather was kind to us and we would definitely love to visit again in the future. Beautiful barn in stunning rural location, but well-placed for exploring the Lake District by car. Thoughtful touches all around the place and a lovely garden to relax in after a day of activity. Fran has thought of everything you might need and checked to see if we were OK during our stay, sending us suggestions for what to see in the area. We would love to return!
