Welcome to NOUVEAU MARCHE, a spacious private Japanese home just a 4-minute walk from historic Katori Shrine. Our guests love the authentic Japanese garden view from the retro-style living and dining room.

Surrounded by rice fields, quiet country roads, farms, bamboo groves and the sounds of nature, this is a place to step away from the crowds and discover a different side of Japan — while still being within easy reach of Tokyo and Narita Airport.

Our guests often tell us that what makes their stay special is not only the house, but the experience of the Katori area itself. Walk to Katori Shrine in the early morning, cycle through the countryside, explore the historic canal town of Sawara, enjoy local restaurants, or simply slow down and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

With more than 100 m² of space and four bedrooms, NOUVEAU MARCHE comfortably accommodates couples, families and groups of up to 8 guests.

The house combines traditional Japanese touches with the comforts needed for a relaxing stay. It features a spacious living and dining area, air conditioning throughout, tatami rooms, and a kitchen equipped with an IH cooktop, BALMUDA toaster, refrigerator, microwave and basic cookware.

Many of our international guests have chosen Katori because they wanted to experience Japan beyond the major tourist cities while remaining within convenient reach of Narita Airport. Some have even returned to stay with us again.

We are also happy to share local recommendations and ideas for exploring the area so that you can experience Katori not simply as a visitor, but at a more relaxed, local pace.
