This was an amazing place. The kids loved roasting marshmallows over the fire pit. There was lots of space to chill out for our big group. Would highly recommend.

Amazing!

Fabulous place to stay, close to the beach, beautiful and private bush setting, incrediable outdoor entertaining area with fire pit.. very comfortable beds and enough space for everyone.. would definitely stay again..

We had a fantastic stay this awesome bach - thanks to Karen & Gina for having us.All communication & instructions from the hosts was very clear & helpful.The accommodation is very well equipped for large groups, even more impressive in real life than in the photos.

Perfect for large groups

This place was the perfect get away for our group of friends, private separate sleeping cabins with a huge outdoor entertainment area. We loved sitting around the fire pit and being able to cook on the outdoor fireplace. Appreciate also being able to bring our dogs. We will be back

Property is true to the listing!! Pretty, clean, spacious, stocked with linen and kitchen supplies! Walkable to the beach (basically on the beach 1 minute walk down the drive to the water) gorgeous bathrooms, incredible group seating with an outside fire pit and a great covered deck. There is also an incredible winery just 5 minutes away from the VRBO. We are already raving about how wonderful this listing is we are very thankful for the owner’s hospitality.

The property and location were stunning. It was perfect for our 3 generations of family. The cabins to have separate spaces were great for a bit of quiet time and privacy, and the beautiful and well equipped house and deck area was exactly what we needed for shared time together. It felt like we were in another world being in the bush and we had so many walks down to the beach together. The dog came on his first big holiday with us and he was the happiest family member by far! Everything we needed was there and I would definitely come back!

No doubts re this Doubtless Bay gem!!

Our whanau of 16 ranging from 12 to 80 years, were lucky enough to stay at this amazing property over the Christmas period. The combination of stunning location and excellent facilities meant we all had such a wonderful time. The hosts have thought of every last detail to ensure their guests enjoyment. We even got to take the dogs! We very much hope to return sometime soon! Bec, Grant, Lily, Finn, Rhys, Rebecca, Jesh, Mel, Xave, Abe, Scott, Phillippa, Isaac, Nico, Caryl & Karl

Whatuwhiwhi Gem

A great place for extended family and friends. Celebrated New Years with overseas friends and family, and it really lived up to an "entertainer's dream".Super good location, private and with modern facilities. Most enjoyed was probably the outside shower to cool off on the hot days. Caretaker - Dillz - was very helpful and polite and promptly sorted out an issue with the second water tank straight on our arrival and during our 5 days stay followed up to make sure everything was working. Even offered a bucket of freshly collected mussels. Great Northland hospitality. We all enjoyed the stay and most certainly will be back for a second time. Many thanks for a magical time in the beautiful north. H.Rylev.

Absolutely Everything 5-Star!

Absolutely everything about our stay here was perfection. The property was immaculate in every one of the 5 dwellings. Loads of extra towels, sheets, duvets and blankets etc. Heaps of glassware, and plates, cutlery etc. Everything you would need for a memorable gathering of your nearest and dearest. Considering it's such a beautiful property, Gina was remarkably laid back and down to earth. We took our little staffy along with us for our family 21st celebrations without an issue. The proximity to the beach and beautiful private grounds were perfect, as was the sparkling hot tub! We highly recommend this property, thanks so much for your prompt and great communications too Gina. Can't wait to come back!

Not what we expected!

Location was great and kitchen entertaining area good for large group, however when it says it sleeps 17 it does not tell you that 7 of those are on mattresses, couches etc. we were also not prepared for the 4 cabins, bedding was damp and cabins were very cold with no heating in any of them! House only has one bedroom but advertising comes across as sleeps more, 2 of the cabins have no toilet facilities so you have to trek to the main house in the middle of the night. We were really disappointed and feel that the amount that we paid off peak was not justified. We reached out to the owners about all of our concerns before we posted this review but 8 hours later still have had no response which in itself is disappointing. Will not be returning or recommending.
