Old hotel that need a restoration
We stay one night. Fortunately was the superior room with balcony. The views were superb, but that was all. Tiny room, no space for the lugagge and small bathroom; you have to bend the head when crossing the door of the bathroom or when having a shower. Very old furnitures. We will not come back.

Atención fantástica - Restaurante inmejorable -
La estancia perfecta, la atención no podia ser mejor, trato amable, y te hacen sentir como parte de la familia. El restaurante muy elaborado y con productos cultivados en un huerto por ellos mismos, la comida muy buena, tambien debo decir que un poco cara . Los desayunos estan muy biern. Limpieza buena. El matrimonio que lo regenta se esfuerza por hacerte agradable la estancia y por ayudarte en todo y el personal muy atento en todo momento. El lavabo un poco pequeño. Recomendable totalmente

Idyllic stay in small Swiss village
Lovely family run hotel in a delightful small Swiss village. The owner is the chef at the restaurant, called Nico’s. We had two excellent dinners there.The reception staff are helpful and friendly.

Ambiance familiale et sympathique, gros effort pour parler français et beaucoup d'humour. Le diner chez Nico's est top ! Excellents vins et cuisine fine avec produits frais et locaux. Petite piscine mais spa tout neuf et tout beau A 10mn pied du téléphérique Oeschinensee.

Séjour extrêmement reposant. Accueil chaleureux et empathique. Le lieu est magique et superbe et l'hébergement offre une douceur et une quiétude absolu. Je recommande cet établissement dans lequel je reviendrai certainement.

Schönes Hotel im Berner Oberland
Das Alfa Soleil ist ein sehr schönes Hotel und es passt sehr gut ins Landschaftsbild de Berner Oberland. Die Zimmer sind etwas klein genau so wie das Bad, aber das wiegt die schöne und neue Wellnessanlage wieder auf. Lediglich für Saunatücher und Getränke müsste besser gesorgt werden. Sonst wäre da alles ok. Die Küche, das Essen ist hervorragend und sicher das Beste im ganzen Ort. Wir haben hie mehr als 2 Stunden gesessen obwohl das Restaurant nicht zu stark besetzt war. Aber eben das Essen liess das alles wieder vergessen. Nur das Ambiente passte irgendwie nicht zu der Gilde Küche. ( Kein Tischtuch, nicht mal ein Tischläufer ) alles wurde auf den nackten Tisch serviert. Vom Frühstück waren wir eher enttäuscht, passte gar nicht zu einem Gilde Hotel. Mangelhafte Leistung des Personals beim Frühstück und auch die Auswahl war eher dürftig. ( keine Croissant, nur eine Sorte Jogurt, Käse zum selber abschneiden, alles in Selbstbedienung ) eben ein NoGo für ein solches Haus. Ich habe das der Chefin mitgeteilt und sie war meiner Meinung . Für Abhilfe wird also gesorgt und somit komme ich auf jeden Fall wieder in dieses Hotel.

at first we got the wrong room without balcony and no view but that was corrected quickly. The room was a bit small for a junior suite. We missed a hair dryer in the bath room. But the location was perfect and the staff very friendly

One of the most beautiful spots in the world. Wonderful hotel, great food, and so welcoming. We enjoyed playing the piano and singing, and babies and dogs are also welcomed and celebrated.

Wonderful small hotel with a surprisingly great spa! Amazing view. We got upgraded for free. The breakfast was copious and delicious. The staff was friendly. I just wish there was less single use items: small soap/shampoo bottles, slippers, etc.

Prima hotel om bijv te combineren met een bezoek aan Oeschinensee. Kamer was ruim en schoon. Helaas geen airco (was bekend, maar in de zomer is dit toch wel fijn om te hebben) en de minibar ontbrak terwijl die er wel zou moeten zijn. Wifi is stabiel. Ontbijt ook prima. Parkeren kan bij het hotel.

Wir hatten eine grosszügige Suite mit grossem Balkon. Sehr schönes Badezimmer. Der Saunabereich ist einfach Hammer, wohl auf kleinem Raum optimal angelegt. Ich fröie mich darauf wenn die Terasse beim Wellness fertiggestellt ist. Schade dass die Kaffeekapseln nicht aufgefüllt wurden. Sehr netter Empfang und Service.

weekend to remember!
Great service both at hotel and restaurant. Spacious, clean, tasteful room with great view. Some noise from the street Monday morning. Location very convenient for hikes and excursions around.

Freundlicher, zuvorkommender und hilfsbereiter Empfang. Ausstattung der Zimmer aus den 80er Jahren. Strassenlärm sowie Lärm des Lifts sehr störend. Sauberkeit ist gut. Duschenstrahl eher schwach, keine gleichbleibende Wärme. Küche Abendessen sehr gut, Frühstück war Crew überfordert, zuwenig Gläser etc.

Das Zimmer für zwei Personen ist etwas klein. Auf dem WC mit Dusche bekommt man Platzangst. Vor dem Fenster ist ein Balkon, der aber von diesem Zimmer kein Zugang hat. Personen im Nachbarzimmer hatte über den Balkon Einsicht in unser Zimmer. Aus meiner Sicht stimmt Preis/Leistung nicht.

Kaikki ok, olimme toista kertaa, ystävällinen palvelu kokonaisuudessaan. Fasiliteetit myös miellyttäviä, sauna oli ehkä himpun liian kuuma, muuten kaikki toimi hyvin. Jäin vielä miettimään näin jälkikäteen hinta-laatu-suhdetta, aika kova hinta/vrk ilman aamupalaa. Tosin vuoden vaihde.

Es war für eine Nacht und das voll zu unserer Zufriedenheit und auch in kurzer Strecke ins Zentrum. Der einzig negativpunkt ist der alteingerichtete Stil des Hotels, ist jedoch geschmackssache. Sonst sehr zufrieden.

Hidden Gem
We added a stay in Kandersteg at the last minute and happened upon the hotel thru Hotels.com. It was an amazing hidden gem. The staff was very knowledgeable of the area and helpful. The restaurant serves us the best meal, a five course dining experience, we had in 12 days in France and Switzerland. The breakfast buffet was priced reasonable and had great offerings. And they provided the makings to create your own sandwiches for your hike or excursion for the day! The only negative I can add is the room is slightly dated. But still very roomy.

The pride of ownership was evident during our stay at this beautiful property. We were warmly greeted and provided recommendations of what to do in the area upon arrival. We also received a beautiful upgrade that was unexpected but welcomed of course....I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a cozy and historic place to stay in Kandersteg! (Bonus: it is a very close walk to the cable car that takes you close to the alp summit. The hotel offers free passes for guests which saves at least 30 francs per adult.)
