Our family of 7 including 2 kids stayed here for about a week and a half and had a wonderful time. The house is even better in real life than the description. It was impressively clean and had pretty much everything you might expect in a rental. In particular the kitchen was very nicely stocked. There was a very nice fruit and local snacks spread when we arrived, along with some bottled water, lots of K-cup pods, spices, oils, kitchen tools, etc. The non-stick pans were even in great shape and there were some knives that were reasonably sharp (a first for us in vacation rentals). All of the appliances worked properly, including the BBQ grill.
The pool and spa are probably the star of this show, and they did not disappoint. The crisp clear water of the pool made a great place to teach the kids how to snorkel and to observe the many different bird species that stop by to take a sip of water from the edge of the infinity pool. This is a great photography spot for birders. You also get a nice view of the golfers (and wild goats) that roam the golf course below.
The house comes with access to the Mauna Lani beach club which is less than a mile away. We never had a problem finding a parking space and the beach was a good place for the kids and also had pretty good snorkeling close to shore. There are also several fishponds near the beach that let you see many different fish species without even getting wet. We also saw sea turtles resting on the rock wall a bit further North along the shoreline. The utility closet at the house had plenty of beach toys (umbrellas, boogie boards, chairs, a cooler, etc.) so we didn't need to worry about renting any beach equipment except snorkeling gear.
The owner and property manager were very responsive to our questions and provided plenty of information ahead of time so we could be prepared ahead of time.
The air conditioning units in the property can't go below 74 degrees F. If you want to stay in an icebox this might not be the place for you, but the ceiling fans in every room made it perfectly comfortable for us.
Also, the house doesn't have a lot of inside lighting so some of the rooms are kind of dim at night. There might have been additional lamps we didn't find, but if you need a well lit space for crafting, work, etc. you might check with the owner first.
Overall we had a great time here and hope to visit again.
