Our second stay at this property. Unique location: Scuba / snorkel in — Scuba / snorkel out to some of the best coral reef in Hawaii. You’ll see the commercial snorkel and scuba boats moored off shore. Expensive but competitive for Hawaii if you consider the cost of 4 oceanfront hotel rooms. Stunning views. Capacity to prepare and serve food at a table for 8 people. Dream location for ocean lovers, but note that water access is challenging over lava rock & coral so not suitable for casual wading.

Magic in Puako!

We returned to this wonderful home in Puako and came away every bit as thrilled as we were the first time. The home is perfect-built for its location, spacious bedrooms and common areas, all directed towards the ocean, complete amenities in all areas, wonderful access to the ocean, and the calming effect of its location in this one-of-a-kind neighborhood. We enjoyed everything about our week and look forward to returning. The sooner the better!

Family Vacation

Family vacation with 9 adults and a teenager. The house is beautiful with plenty of room to spread out. Very nice indoor/outdoor areas for gathering. Gorgeous views, beautiful sunsets, and great whale watching during our stay. The house is centrally located in a quiet neighborhood and is close to the beach and other activities. The house is very well equipped and the host, Debbie was very responsive and attentive.

Perfect Location

This was a beautiful house in a perfect location. Perfect fit for our group of 10. We loved the location and that we were so close to the water. The spa was great as were the outdoor lanai areas. Perfect for relaxing outside. Inside was spacious and spotlessly clean. Great interaction with the property manager. She was quick to answer any questions. We would definitely come again!

Puako Bay Paradise

Our family just can't say enough good things about this property to do it justice! The house was gorgeous, spacious, and fully equipped with all the bells and whistles and with lovely interior design. The location was stunning with amazing ocean views and access to the water directly from the house where we enjoyed snorkeling and visiting with the sea turtles, crabs, and other little ocean creatures! There's absolutely no need to go anywhere if you are in HI to rest, relax and enjoy a slice of paradise! Debbie was so responsive to our questions. We also enjoyed the close proximity to resorts to eat out and shop as well as to buy local fresh fish to bring home to grill.

Stunning Oceanfront Estate in gorgeous Puako

I can only say, that this is simply the most gracious and inviting home I have seen in Puako, it is a 10! Luxury in every detail, from the exquisite gourmet kitchen to the individual suites...not forgetting the two great rooms and media room! We had a wonderful catered party and being able to sit next to the water, feel the ocean breeze, music, gaze at the stars, it was a night to remember forever! I would come back to get married here, there could not be a better place to gather and enjoy the moment! This is a home and it accommodates a multi generational family, there is privacy for all! Gather around the pool table, serve fresh cold drinks and gaze at miles of ocean, soak in the Jacuzzi, watch movies all night in the super lux media room, simply grand! I want to live in this house forever, no one wanted to leave, we will be back!

Family Getaway in Paradise

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to spend our vacation. Everything far exceeded our expectations it's hard to sum it up. The house is huge, great for families or groups. There's 4 large bedrooms each with a full ball. It's spacious, comfortable and feels as if you are at a 5 star resort. Beautiful furniture, amazing open air showers, ac in every room. Awesome amenities like a huge movie room, surround sound indoors and out, big kitchen, tvs. We didn't leave for 3 days it had everything to offer. Outdoors there's an infinity lounge pool and hot tub. With two sofa cabanas. Perfectly manicured lawn with views of the ocean and sunset every night. It's right on the water and easy to walk out to the ocean to snorkel or kayak. This place has every detail you could want without being too fancy. We had little kids and they would play for hours and we could lounge at the same time. There's no better place you could stay.

Happiest place on earth

If I could only vacation in one place for the rest of my life, this would be it. The four bedrooms are basically all "master" bedrooms. All fantastic with striking bathrooms (some outdoor showers). The wide-open front to the house (upstairs and downstairs great rooms plus all bedrooms) with choice for window, screen, shutters, or open makes this the perfect place to simply enjoy the ocean and the air. Loved the cabanas and wading pool. While ocean entry is challenging, our party did a lot of snorkeling and scuba diving from shore. Note that air conditioning is available in the bedrooms only, and the temperature is controlled from the upstairs bedrooms only (no independent controls downstairs). So don't put cold lovers above people who want the doors open at night. It's a long way to the supermarket so plan ahead and do your shopping before you arrive--so you don't miss a single minute at the house.

Pili Pono Rocks!

Awesome. From the moment we drove up to the house, we knew it was everything the website showed. Actually, it was better. Puako is a small oceanfront beach-y neighborhood on a dead-end road. Very little traffic makes it a perfect place to walk the neighborhood or ride a bike to the General Store for groceries or an ice cream treat. The view to the ocean from the living room is stunning. There is a small private white sand beach just beyond the lawn. The kitchen/dining area is set up nicely for family dinners. The furnishings are attractive and modern The master suite is large with a huge closet space. The master bath is very cool (got to see it to believe it) and all bedrooms have an indoor/outdoor shower. The bunk-bed bedroom was great for the kids and the bathroom was built with a low-counter just for children. Nice touch! Quiet and serene, beautiful landscaping, large kitchen, three dayrooms for relaxing, (one is a large, air-conditioned media room set-up with big day-beds.) The guys liked the upstairs bar and the indoor/outdoor lounge area complete with a pool table and a huge HDTV to watch the games. The gals loved sunbathing - on the chaise lounge chairs - that are IN the shallow pool. - Heaven. The house design is stunning and well appointed with nice furniture, great cookware, dinnerware, glassware, and two bars each w/ an ice maker, (which we used a lot) towels and sheets are topnotch. The house provided snorkel equipment, SUP’s, reef-walker booties, kayaks and bikes. Nearby are beautiful beaches, good restaurants and so many things to do and discover. I can’t wait to go back. *****

The Ultimate Hawaii Experience

Our week at Pili Pono in Puako on the Big Island was the best family vacation we’ve ever had. Each of our three teenagers brought a friend, so there were 8 of us, all with very different ideas about what constitutes the perfect Hawaiian vacation. Pili Pono is a gorgeous, beautifully appointed, beachfront home that allowed each family member to do exactly what they wanted to do throughout each day while still allowing for plenty of family time and adventures. After daily family outings to Hapuna beach for morning body surfing, our teenagers and their friends happily played pool upstairs with the lanai doors wide-open and their music playing on the stereo-system, hung out in the jacuzzi, went skin diving, snorkeled, drove to Waimea or watched movies in the air-conditioned screening room. Early evening we would all reconvene to swim or paddle SUPs and canoes straight out towards the spectacular setting sun before heading back to the house for dinner. The snorkeling and diving is outstanding, with loads of colorful fish, turtles and dolphins. Heaven. The pool/jacuzzi set up is amazing, with a waterfall effect from the jacuzzi into a relatively shallow pool where we sat in beach chairs with the water up to our waists, reading, chatting and watching the unbelievable and always changing ocean views. Moving from the ocean to the pool to the jacuzzi throughout the day was absolutely luxurious. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook large family meals. Everything was organized and easy to find, all of the best possible quality. Pili Pono does’t have that “vacation rental” feeling. From the towels and bedding to the fabulous art work through out, staying at Pili Pono is like staying at the perfectly appointed home of friends with exceptional taste in all things. The layout of Pili Pono allows for privacy in the bedrooms and open, communal space in the the upstairs and downstairs living spaces. I can’t forget to mention the outdoor showers in every room; there is simply nothing like taking a hot shower with a cool tropical rain sprinkling down or a bright star light sky and full moon above. I cannot recommend Pili Pono enough. What an incredible place.

Great for families

This house is in a great location with easy access to many amenities. Ocean front with great snorkelling right out the back door. All of the 4 bedrooms have a private bath which makes it nice for everyone to have their own space. Debbie the host was always available for whatever was required and very enjoyable to deal with. A beautiful place to stay.

Beautiful home, location.

felt like a private waterfront oasis. We watched the sun set every evening and enjoying the stars from pool, hit tub at night. So relaxing with the continuous surf, ocean sounds. Spacious, luxurious home with abundant room for everyone to spread out. Our extended family thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

Amazing house and location

Just as amazing as the photos suggest! Entrance to water is rocky but easy enough with water shoes and SO worth doing since right in front of the house is one of the most popular snorkeling places! You can swim out before the snorkel tours get there and see beautiful coral and tons of fish. I also watched pods of dolphins swim across the bay in the morning while drinking my coffee. House manager is super accommodating and helpful. Very close to some wonderful beaches as well.

This property is a dream! The photos don’t even do it justice as all is spectacular. All bedrooms have their own bathrooms, outdoor showers, and lanais. The kitchen has everything you would need, wonderful and multiple coffee/espresso makers, appliances, all high end, beautiful furnishings and art. The 7 of us felt complete privacy but enjoyed all about the space, from the beach access, to the turtles, multiple family rooms, perfect spa area, pool table, and the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. There is no reason to leave this property but the island is gorgeous as well. The property manager was responsive and wonderfully helpful. It was a complete 5 star in every way!

Incredible Stay on the Big Island

This property was the highlight of our stay on the Big Island. From the accommodations to the location, everything was perfect. I will not go into specifics since I will only be repeating what others have said but will simply say that this property lacks nothing and that it would be a great selection for any traveler to this area.
