Excellent view of the mountains and the Pacific Ocean, we had a great time. The area is quiet, beautiful and safe. I highly recommend this amazing house. You do need to have a car to travel everywhere. Wake up early and come back early because it gets very dark right away.

Wonderful property

The hot tub and pool can be heated! The owner has a fully equipped kitchen that is extremely well labeled for ease of use. Outdoor seating can accommodate 8-10 guests if needed. Owner is very pleasant to work with and readily answers questions beyond what is explained in folder.

Another fabulous stay in paradise

We are repeat visitors at Michelle's villa, and it never disappoints! We have stayed at other Wai Ula Ula villas over the years, and we keep wanting to come back to Michelle's specifically! She and her house managers are quick communicators and make the whole process from booking, through the vacation, to the inevitable sad departure super easy! The house is beautifully decorated, very clean, and well-stocked. The set up is fabulous for our family. We love the beautiful surroundings, and we always enjoy the high end amenities of this spectacular villa and the Mauna Kea resort. We will definitely be back! Thank you Michelle!!

Another wonderful stay at Mauna Kea!

Home is beautiful, perfectly described and exceeded expectations. Our 2 families, + 84 yr old mom stayed here for 6 amazing nights! The home was enjoyed by the whole family, from cartwheels on the plush grass, the sunrise views on short walks, to star gazing almost every night, to the home having everything you could possibly need, easy to find and plenty of it! Communication with Michelle and the local manager was always without delay. This trip was to celebrate 3 birthdays in our family and it was super special!. 🌺🌸

Luxurious house with pool, hot tub and outdoor showers

Our family enjoyed this luxurious property behind Mauna Kea and Hāpuna resorts. We loved the well-stocked large kitchen, the ample space (3 bedrooms with ensuites) and the outdoor showers. The kids (4 and 6) loved the heated pool and hot tub. The location is quiet and peaceful and we loved having supper while watching the sunset in the spacious lanai. We would love to return. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Michelle's place. It was very clean and well appointed. We really enjoyed spending time on the lanai and using the private pool and hot tub. Michelle and her property manager were very responsive if we had any minor issues come up. The villa was well stocked. We would definitely stay here again!

Great escape

Beautiful property. Fabulous beaches. Great escape. The villa is terrific. Lovely furniture, clean, well-maintained, well stocked with plates, glasses, pots/pans etc. for cooking. We have stayed in several WUU villas over the years and this one is particularly nice (and because of that we are returning guests of Michelle's). Michelle is excellent to communicate with before booking and even with questions after booking. She sends you all the info you need in advance and makes arrival smooth and easy. And her on-site manager, Eric, is also terrific and was super quick to respond to the handful of questions we had while at the house. The beaches at Mauna Kea are fantastic, tennis and golf terrific too. We will be back for sure! Thank you Michelle (and Eric) for a great vacation!!

Terrible Stay

We're sorry to have to leave this review - we looked forward to this vacation for months and the property looks so beautiful online; the host was incredibly responsive and the stay seemed like it would be perfect. Unfortunately there was a severe insect infestation at the house. The night we arrived, after putting children to sleep, I was walking in the kitchen and received a severe bite on my foot. I had no idea what bit me at the time; there was excessive bleeding, pain and swelling and multiple small puncture marks. Since we didn't know where the bite came from we headed to the emergency room where they were able to treat me and let me know the bite was probably from a scorpion or centipede. Meanwhile at the home my husband and children had found innumerable other insects on the walls, ceilings and floor. We immediately contacted the homeowner and she promised to treat the property the next day. We didn't have many options so rented a hotel room for the kids and we stayed that night. Long story short, after two exterminator treatments we continued to find insects and the final straw came the next day when we found a large worm crawling on my son's pajamas. That was enough and I let the homeowner know that we did not feel safe staying; she let me know checkout was 11am. This home was not safe or comfortable. Do yourself a favor and rent directly through Mauna Kea resort, they would have refunded our money or found a nice place for us to stay. Lesson learned.

25th Anniversary trip

This was by far the best VRBO rental we’ve ever had. The property is well maintained and fully stocked with everything you need. Loved the view, pool, hot tub and outdoor showers! Would definitely stay again and highly recommend this property. Michelle the owner was very nice and easy to work with and very responsive. Such a great property!

Perfect for our 3 generations of family stay. GREAT COMMUNICATION FROM HOST!!! loved having the kitchen stocked with so many cooking supplies, condiments and snacks. The views are beautiful and the two master suites were a huge plus. We will definitely be back!

Perfect Big Island Stay

Absolutely wonderful, spacious residence for a Big Island vacation for 2 families of 4. Easy access to Mauna Kea Beach and all the facilities. Fantastic service and communication with the hosts. Amazing grill and outdoor dining area + pool/hot tub. So nice to have space and not have to eat every meal at the hotel. Can't wait to come back
