This was a great home for our entire family. A little challenging with having 2 bedrooms outside of the main locked areas with young children, just leaving us a little uncomfortable having them in those rooms by themselves. The laundry facilities were wonderful along with the large eating areas. We did ok with not having a/c as I was a bit concerned with that. The location to the beach and main roads to go either direction was great as well. Our one and only interaction with the property manager was over the refrigerator. I had a thermometer with medication in it and putting basic groceries in the refrigerator it was noticed that it was not able to keep at a temperature that is normal for refrigeration, about 55 degrees. Upon my conversation with the property manager, there was much blame that I had placed too many groceries in the refrigerator. The controls were non functional on the refrigerator and there was no listening or apology, only that she manages many homes and she sees this all the time. There definitely was a problem with the fridge. It is my belief that you have a home that can sleep 12 people, your refrigerator should be able to keep essentials cold. I just happened to have a thermometer, but just drinking the milk you could tell it wasn’t up to par. The manager did walk us through opening another room to access another fridge. My overall dealing with the manager was just not pleasant and she had no positive communication around this issue.

House was very beautiful. Contact from owner was prompted. There was enough space for our family of 11 to enjoy. A walk to the beach was almost every day. The grocery store (KTA) was 2 miles south from the house.Downfall is more seating in the living room; the couch only sat 3/4 comfortably, needs upgraded to something more comfortable & bigger. All the beds were hard to sleep on.

Our host Khanh Nguyen was most welcoming, accommodating & easy to contact. This 5 bedroom home was perfect for our 4 families. Each family had their own room & bathroom which assured each one privacy & rest when needed. The full kitchen with open floorplan dining area & living room was spacious. The porch or lanai was perfect for our large family of 14 to talk about our adventures each day & make plans for the next day. The front balcony is where we enjoyed many a sunset. Our group included 2 grandparents , 3 adult children & their spouses & 6 grandchildren (2 for each family) Ages 10 to 18. Kona offered many beautiful beaches . Magic Sands short walk nearby. Some Night swam with Rays, stargazed, volcano, snorkeled, boogie boards, surfed, played in the waves. So much to do & so much more to do. A HUI HOU and MAHALOHouse was clean, well equipped with a gas BBQ & a washer & dryer each floor. Costco, Walmart & Safeway nearby. We celebrated Christmas there! Many finds in carport of boogie boards, water shoes & snorkel gear as well as pool toys near pool. A vacation of a lifetime. Of course would love to return.

I liked that the house was well stocked with shampoo & soaps in the bathrooms. In the kitchen it too was well stocked with condiments, that you didn’t have to go add shopping for, plastic wrap, foil, coffee pretty much everything you need withouthaving to go to the store.Easy to walk to beach the pool was tiny but it was good enough to get in, get wet, and cool off. Large eating areas for a big group, like our team members. We were a group of 12. We would probably stay again. It was the no air conditioning that got to me but there were ceiling & floor fans in every room which really helped.

Amazing Hawaiian Rental

We had 14 people (four 50’s, ten 20’s) and one toddler staying at this beautiful house. With 5 bedrooms, everyone was comfortable and had not only a bed, but each bedroom has its own bathroom.The house is a two level in kind of a U shape. There is a huge table that fit everyone when we came together for dinner. Some enjoyed lounging by the pool, which was refreshing. The grill out there was heavily used for cooking our meals.The location is perfect. Less than a 15 minute drive to groceries, restaurants,… esp. in Kona. (*Park at St. Michaels church for free)It’s a simple 5 minute walk north to Magic Sands Beach - with facilities, nice sand, and rocks that are perfect for sunset watching.If you walk about 15-20 minutes south, you reach a rocky park that has terrific snorkeling.The house does not have AC, but keeping the shutters and interior doors open (keep outside doors closed to keep bugs out) was perfect. It was warm going to bed, but rooms all have ceiling fans and an extra room fan to cool things down till the temps drop during the night.The kitchen is very well stocked with a great pantry. There’s also a cooler and a cooler water jug.The house had plenty of regular towels, dish soap, paper towels, napkins, shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, laundry soap, dishwasher soap, beach towels. There’s a ton of games and Big Island guide books. Plenty of plates, silverware, etc.. for everyone.I can’t imagine a better place to stay. I highly recommend staying here.

Excellent Location, minor improvements needed

Screened lanai with large table was great, well stocked kitchen, manager very responsive. We recommend this property for family and friends. Great location for access to all the Island activities and services.Beds were fair; living room couch is uncomfortable to sit on, toilets too low for seniors or need grab bars.

The owner was super easy to work with and always quick to get back to me. The house was perfect for our family group of 10 with space enough to spread out and not feel like you're on top of each other. We loved that we could walk to a nice, sandy beach. We loved the beach gear that they had, the grill, and the baby equipment. It all made our stay that much more convenient.

Annual family vacation to the Islands and this was by far the best property we’ve stayed at. Entire experience was very good. We had a group of 10 (8 adults and 2kids). The pool was used extensively.

Great property, great location!

We had a great experience! Everything was as we expected, and communication was great throughout our stay. It was just a short walk to the beach and restaurants. We even took a short walk to see the marathon running portion of the Ironman World Championships. The house was clean and perfect for everything we needed.

Beautiful Home

This home is Beautiful and fit our family of 12 perfectly. Each family had a room with own bathroom, which was amazing. The house had sand toys and multiple sizes and pairs of water socks. Highly recommend staying at this location. Communication was addressed promptly! :) Mahalo from California!!!

Absolutely great for families. Highly recommend!

This house is fantastic. We were two families (four adults, two 4 year olds, and a toddler). The kids loved the layout and the pool in the back was such a hit (we used it every afternoon). It really was a place they could 'explore' but well thought out screens and doors allow you to wall off areas (like the pool) to keep everyone safe. The kitchen was very well equipped, beyond what I am used to for most rental properties. It made making meals a pleasure, rather than a chore. Next time we are in Kona we will book this place again.

A perfect home for our big family

The house was perfect for my children and grandchildren. Each family had their own room with their own bathroom. We got together in the living room/kitchen, and we can each retreat to our rooms whenever we wanted privacy. It was like a little hotel with 5 rooms. Each room had a lanai with tables and chairs. It was very cozy. We enjoyed the lanai area for dining because it was screened in to keep insects out. There was enough room for all of us to sit together for a meal. The house was walking distance to the beach, and we appreciated the use of beach equipment in the garage. The little ones used sand toys and there were plenty of beach chairs, even water shoes of all sizes. We also appreciated how the host responded immediately to our needs. The house was located a few minutes from a shopping center that had a large selection of local foods. We didn't discover this right away, so we mostly drove north to Kailua for our meals and groceries. We were too busy so we didn't use the pool. Thank you for a great time. I would rent the house again if we come back.

Hawaii Hideaway

Everything was great. We really loved having one bathroom per family! The fifth room was perfect for the preteen! Everything was spacious and wonderful for our families which, all the combined, was a total of 12 people. The neighbors were a little noisy late at night, but that isn't the fault of the VRBO owners.

Great location, large house!

We had a wonderful stay -- the house was large to fit 3 families -- 2 sets of families with 4 kids ranging from 1.5-14 yo and 2 grandparents! Lots of room for us to all hang out as well as separated bedrooms so younger kids could go to sleep earlier while the rest hung out. Lots of different places to eat together - from the covered lanai to the outdoor patio to the indoor dining room. Location was perfect for our daily adventures and walks to beaches. Khanh was a wonderful host and communicated well and often -- and helped us address very minor issues. The neighbors are close by and you can often hear their music / or tv, but that's not the fault of the VRBO owner. We did have to call local police once to shut down a very loud party, past noise ordinance hours, which they did very promptly. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Great Kona stay

The house worked well for our family of 6 adults and 2 kids. It was close to several beaches and the town of Kona. We didn’t really use the pool since the water was too cold.

We had a party of 10 the fact that it had 5 bedrooms and all bedrooms had there own bath was awesome. The house needs some work: Several blinds broken with this being the only window covering privacy can be a issue. The last bedroom in the back of the house bed is terrible sunken in to the middle beds skirt ripped this bed needs replaced they tried just putting on a foam pad. The bathtub needs scrubbed you can scrape the sides and it's gross. Loved having two washers and dryers they came in so handy with a large family who packed light. Kitchen needs more frying pans other than that well equipped if you want to cook. Loved the grill we has a grill night. The pool was dirty when we came but on Tuesday they did have the pool guy there and it was cleaned. The outdoor shower by the pool spigot is leaking. The pool deck needs a lots of help and could be dangerous several broken pieces a few sticking up. We enjoyed the pool one day of our stay not very deep or big but was enjoyed 😀 👍. Loved the outside table we all used this area often. One of the chairs is broken on the inside table. Living room couch is a little dated. Loved that they had Netflix and Disney plus we had a two year old. They had plenty of fans house does not have air-conditioning I was a bit worried but going in January the nights get a bit cooler days are hot but we we're gone most days. Lots of extra things in the closet off the living room some baby things toys, extra fans, each room has its own ceiling fan and had fans in the closet. We loved all the extra thing like lawn chairs, umbrellas, ice chest, beach towels. With a little bit of love this house could be brought back to life. If you stay in the bedroom in the living room don't lock the door and the door to the bathroom no key was provided to us and we got locked out. Good thing it has a open space at the top 😉. Overall we enjoyed our stay finding a house with a decent price range for bigger families is hard and we appreciate you offering your home to people.

Every room has an attached full bathroom

We had 11 people from several different families. Everyone had their own room with their own bathroom they could retreat to for privacy. The rest of the house was perfect for family entertaining. Large table on one of the lanai’s for the whole family. We had a couple questions and got a reply within minutes from the owner. No A/C but three fans in every room helped cool off at night. We have a 1 year old and they had a high chair and a stroller and pack and play in the closet. Plenty of beach equipment including snorkeling, beach umbrella’s, chairs and boogie boards. We had 2 large vehicles and 2 smaller ones and had enough room to get any of them out if needed.

Great Home. Great location. Great communication.

This property worked very well for our party of 11. Two families. One family of 5 and one family of 6. House was as described. We received great communication and responses to our questions before and throughout our trip. The home was a short walk to a few beaches. Many additional amenities, restaurants, and activities were within a 15 minute drive. Overall we had a great experience and if and when we come back to the big island we will look into renting this house again.

Great location

13 family members (from 67 to 4yrs) for two weeks. This house had plenty of room for all of us. Great location. Quiet neighborhood and street. Safeway, Target and Costco about 20 mins away. 10 min walk to Magic Sands Beach (follow the short cut thru the path lined with painted stones and coconuts). Lots of nearby beaches for snorkeling. The house could use some TLC (painting, cleaning, minor repairs), but it didn't prevent us from having a great time. We will return!
