  • The Flying Honu is located in the heart of Kona three blocks from the Ironman starting line. Built on the fragrant pathway from the mountain to the sea (Mauka to Makai ) it is a great example of Hawaiian single wall construction. Open floor plan with large windows to let the ocean and mountain breezes inn. Large master bedroom with ceiling fan. The lanai sleeping area has two full size beds . We provide everything you will need for your day at the beach mask, snorkels, fins, beach chairs, boogie boards .

Great location, residential area, walking distance to Safeway, close to shopping, restaurants, the beach and just a few minutes to/from the airport. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen and bathroom are well-stocked. It’s located upstairs and we enjoyed breakfast in the covered lanai. There’s no air conditioning but there are ceiling fans inside the main bedroom alcove, and the dining area. There’s also floor fan, and a desk fan but they might not be enough on hot, humid nights. Overall, it was a comfortable stay..

Great place to lay your head, we flew in late. Place was clean, beds were comfy price was good.... everything we needed. Will definitely recomend to others.

We had a wonderful stay at this vacation rental with our family! The place was spotlessly clean and very comfortable — everything we needed for a relaxing trip. The location in the historic Kailua village is absolutely perfect. We loved being just a short walk from so many great restaurants and shops, which made our stay so convenient and fun to explore.Marc was a fantastic host — friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome from the start. We couldn’t have asked for more!Highly recommend this place for families looking for a great base in Kailua. We hope to come back soon!

The Flying Honu IS Hawaii. What a great place to experience island life. Hosts are truly good people … wish we could have stayed longer!!

The location was excellent and having a parking space was awesome. We enjoyed the layout, the ample space, and the peek-a-boo ocean view from the lanai.

We had a great stay! Unit is in a great location and within walking distance of many restaurants and stores. Overall experience while staying was relaxed and restful, we would definitely book again.

The property was spacious and well equipped for our vacation. We especially appreciated the snorkels and other beach gear offered during the stay. The place has a laid back, beachy, hippie vibe that was inviting. You do share the carport with whoever is staying in the room beneath this rental, so it's first come first serve.

My host was so accommodating. They made me feel so welcome and helped with little things I needed. The place was great, awesome amenities and the location was perfect. I’d stay here again in a minute!
