Was the perfect place for our family of 13 to gather and celebrate my husband’s retirement. The sunsets, ocean views and spacious room within the house made for a most enjoyable stay. We really appreciated the AC in the bedrooms. Convenient location to nearby sites. Thank you for making our trip so memorable.

Dolphin manor-perfect!

This home was perfect for us-all 15 of us! The kitchen was well-equipped, the en-suite bedrooms were clean and spacious, and best of all the views were amazing. A perfect spot for a week in Hawaii!!

Perfect Ocean Front Stay!

The constant sound of ocean waves, spectacular sunsets, spinner dolphins swimming by, and humpback whales spouting, all from the comforts of your open air living room, made this the best VRBO ever! Accommodated our 17 guests in comfort.

Great location Amazing sunsets

This beautiful home a little over 1 mile to downtown Kailua Kona was chosen for our annual family gathering- this year 12 of us. Pros: It was perfect for walks to the beach (Kailua Bay) and town, running along Ali’i drive, and picking up groceries. The 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms provided great private space. The views oceanfront were gorgeous, ocean sounds, sunsets, sighting spinner dolphins. Our family enjoyed searching the tidal pools. Kitchen was roomy and we had yummy meals. Cons: the home did not level up to 5 stars due to details and expectations that were unmet. In the kitchen there was a broken cork screw opener, the coffee maker was quite awkward- took awhile to figure out that you had to reload a small white gizmo to make it functional, a separate ice maker with no directions that we never did figure out. (Fortunately there was ice maker in refrigerator). To our surprise there was NO Salt and Pepper, common items to have available… a Keurig coffee maker with no complimentary pods.. The outside grill had broken starter and required manual start with igniter. It seemed odd that in house directions received before check-in we were advised that there would only be cleaning items to last 3 days. Also it was felt Agency “over managed “ with directives, yet fell short with follow through At check in we needed to call for house code which had not been provided. For a house accommodating 12, hot tub very small (2 people)..Overall, we had a great time!

Stay away!

We had booked this house & given them the deposit. Months later the owners realized the Kona Ironman had been moved to a different weekend and cancelled our reservation. They then re-listed for an insane amount of money & decided to price gouge. We knew a rental would be expensive for IM weekend, but the new amount was outrageous. VRBO said the owners aren't supposed to do that and they'll make a note to reprimand them (I'm sure they care). So FYI if you're ever looking to book through VRBO, know having a reservation and deposit means nothing & it can be canceled on a whim. I would stay far away from this homeowner because who knows when they'll pull this crap again. Don't say you weren't warned. We were just going to badmouth VRBO & the homeowner to friends but they asked us for a review on how our stay was, so here we are.

Thompsons in Hawaii 2024

This property was perfect for our family of 11. Most in Hawaii for the first time. It was worth every penny to stay in beautiful Dolphin Manor. We loved being all together enjoying the shared spaces, especially the lanai which was very safe for our youngest grandson of 19 months. Plenty of bedrooms, most with a view of the ocean and very nice spacious bathrooms. We made wonderful memories on this trip of a lifetime!

Great house

The pool is a bit small and it needed a cleaning when we got there but they handled it right away. The sounds of the ocean were worth the price. It was great for everyone room to have its own bathroom, kitchen was beautiful, double washer and dryers were awesome. The stay was perfect

Paradise

We really enjoyed the property. The pictures were somewhat misleading for the size of the parking area and the pool. There were 14 of us and enough hot water was the only issue after a day at the beach and everyone needing to take a shower. We loved our trip!!

Beautiful and relaxing vacation

Dolphin Manor was a perfect getaway for the women in our family! We all had our own bedroom and bathroom! The view was stunning, the house is well equipped and we enjoyed every minute!

Outstanding property 🌺❤️

Perfect set up for two families with teens. Mornings on the porch sipping Kona coffee were priceless. We also loved the private snorkeling spot right in front of the house. Use the large flat rock for entry 🌊 We can’t wait to visit again!

Best family vacation to date

My boys and I have been going away every summer for over 10 years. We meet up with my brothers and their families in different states. This summer it was Hawaii at the Dolphin Manor and I said to the kids, "I don't think we will ever be able to top this place." The kitchen is my dream kitchen and was stocked with sharp knives and top-of-the-line pots, pans, dishes, and any kitchen gadget you could think of - rice cookers, coffee/teapots, blenders, grinders etc. But it was "nature bathing" for tired souls from the east coast that got me - ocean therapy each morning, sunsets each evening, walks to town, etc was perfect. Thank you for a memory that will last a lifetime.

A family celebration

We had a wonderful stay at Dolphin Manor, the views are amazing night and day. The outside living area is compact but adequate for the 12 of us. especially with the doors that open to the lanai from the living room. Lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance since parking is expensive and tight.

Beautiful location and house

The property was so beautiful and just right for our extended family. Enjoyed the fabulous sunsets, the sound of the waves, and the proximity to restaurants, the farmers markets, and beaches. Hosts were super welcoming and helpful. Really appreciated their information.

Perfect Location

This is the perfect location for your stay in Kona! Dolphin Manor was within a 15 minute walk of downtown Kona and a 30 minute drive of five different beaches that we explored. During our stay, we also were able to drive to the north point of the island to visit Havi and Akaka Falls. In addition to the perfect location, this home has every amenity you could need during your stay. Just show up and have a great week! There is an awesome kitchen, which we used every day on our long stay over Thanksgiving. All of the cooking utensils and amenities were present. We also enjoyed fantastic sunsets every night from the soaking pool and back area. We recommend this property to anyone traveling to the big island. A fantastic home away from home. Love, love, love.

Beautiful comfortable home

Ample space for adults, toddlers and teens. Clean. Great views right off the ocean. Kitchen had every appliance we needed with lots of frig. space. Double washer & dryer made it easy to keep beach towels and clothes clean. Easy access to trolley to tour downtown shops and access the beach. Ideal spot for large family gathering. Pool not as big as I thought but turned out ok since we had little ones

Collins Family Vacation 2022

We had a great time and we would rent the property again if visiting with family. The only thing to keep in mind with large groups is the shortage of hot water for showers. All else is top notch. You can get over the hot water shortage. 🌺

If I could give the house 10 stars I would! We will be back!

First let me start off by saying we have been to Kona many times and each time we rent a home so the whole family can enjoy and reunite. Typically when we do so a few of the family members draw the short straw with a tiny dated bedroom, not with this house! The bedrooms are spacious, well equipped and most of them feature an incredible ocean view! Not to mention that they all have independently controlled air conditioning and attached bathrooms! Our favorite part of the home was the location, it was close to everything we visited. Especially restaurants, we walked to Huggos on the Rocks and it was less than 10 minutes away! We especially loved the back "Lanai" to BBQ and watching the kids playing in the pool was amazing. The parents were able to take turns keeping an eye on the kids while the others enjoyed Moscow Mules with the provided copper cups! On the days we stayed home and prepared meals at the property we were happily surprised to find a very well stocked kitchen and ample space for 5 of us to participate in meal preparation. Lastly as I mentioned we've stayed in a number of places on the Island and found this home to be the cleanest of the lot which was greatly appreciated!
