Just an OK experience
The Good: The balcony was cozy. Nice pool area. Decent wifi signal.
The Bad: The property is listed as Historic Kailua Village but it’s actually called Kona Islander Inn. This was very confusing at first because Kailua Village is right next door. We stayed 4 nights but was only able to park on premises one of the nights because not enough parking spaces. Had to park across the street the other three nights. Went to use the coffee maker and the filter was caked with dried up grounds and little bugs (very gross). Opened up one of the kitchen drawers and found a small dead cockroach-looking bug. There is no dedicated bathroom sink…you share the kitchen sink as a bathroom sink…weird. The bathroom exhaust fan needs to be seriously cleaned.
It’s the little things that matter and when added up, made for an OK experience. A little more attention to details and this would a good place to stay.
