This property looked great in the pictures at a distance. But in reality was not clean and it smelled soooo stale like sweat honestly. The carpet was old and smelly. The towels were old and ragged and not even white and also smelled. Bugs in kitchen drawers, filthy plates, filthy kitchen cupboard handles, rusted refrigerator that was leaking when we arrived I had to soak up water to put in the groceries in.
Hand towel holder in bathroom almost coming out of the wall. Every towel rack was molded and rusted. The shower had corners with brown in them and even hair from I assume the previous renters. The bedding smelled like the rest of the place. Rusted knives in the butcher block, rusted refrigerator and trash can.. The list goes on and on....... :(
The rental company did not send the proper instructions for us to get in the unit, so when we arrived with groceries had to call Craig and get the door code. He was in no hurry and wanted to visit with my husband while we sweated in front of the door with groceries, knowing my phone died and my husbands was about to die as well. Craig was talking to his kids while on the phone with my husband, and seemed to be not giving us his full attention. After I got in the unit, I called Craig back and told him how horrible it was and asked for my money back or a refund of some kind. He said he would call me the next day by 11am and see what he could do and generally hung up on me when I was not done speaking on the call. It was rude and not professional at all. He never called the next day.
At this point I was going to lose quite a lot of money, so stuck it out and stayed 3 days there, It was miserable. It was not AIR CONDITIONED and he said if it was not listed I shouldn't have assumed it was. It was hot.
The ONLY thing this unit had going was a gorgeous view of the ocean, Other than that it was the most awful staying experience I have ever had.
SAVE yourself and do not rent this unit. My friends had a Townhouse on the same property that was clean, new and lovely. I blame the Owners and the rental company for this, and would like VRBO to help make this right for me if at all possible.
