We loved the view from the lanai! We had breakfast every morning there. Beautiful sunsets! The apartment is dated but it has all the essentials for a perfect stay. Well equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washer and dryer. No issues for finding a parking space below the building. Good location, close to Kona center and close to other attractions like snorkeling, manata rays, etc.

All was overall good, the bathrooms and lanai furniture could use little tlc, but not a big deal, just a suggestion.

These condos are the perfect location if you want to be right in the ocean. Close enough to Kona but out of the traffic of town. Vacasa is excellent with communication.

Great location & view!

The view from the condo balcony was amazing! Carpet needs replacing and bed is a little hard, but we were not here long enough for that to matter too much! Kitchen is well stocked.

Unbelievably amazing unit

My stay was incredible! Honest to goodness the condo surpasses the pictures. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I love the communication from the property manager. Highly highly recommend booking this property! I will be back 100%!!

For True Kona Experience.

This is a comfortable functional space with an amazing view and location. If you want fancy frills go to Waikaloa. To experience Kona with a focus on nature and real Aloha spirit I recommend this property. Poke Bar onsite but get there early cuz once the fresh catch is gone they close! BBQ on the beach watch the sunset. Wake up to turtles sunning on the lava rocks. Just far enough away from the hustle of north alii dr. (Stay away for the tourists).

Kona is great

Listing photos are not updated and do not entirely correspond with reality. Views to the ocean are great. In all our stays in Hawaii (Maui, Kauai, Oahu) we always had beach chairs and light umbrella, not in this one which was by the way the most expensive of all.

We were 3 and our stay was wonderful. The view is amazing! I really appreciated the washer-dryer combo. One thing to note is that the building does not have an elevator. We had to walk up and down to the 3rd floor.

Good condo.

We have stayed at Kona Bali Kai several times before , really like everything thing about it. The other units had been updated. This unit is in definite need of an update. In the future we will look for one of the other units.

A Coastal Haven in Kailua-Kona

My stay was a delightful Hawaiian escape. The highlight is the huge lanai, perched right on the ocean, where waves crash dramatically against lava rocks below. This spacious patio was my go-to spot for morning coffee, soaking in Pacific views, or unwinding to the ocean’s soothing rhythm. It’s an unbeatable front-row seat to Kona’s coastal beauty.The condo’s screen doors allow one to enjoy the crash of the surf all night adding charm to the stay. While the interior feels slightly dated and could benefit from a modern refresh, it’s clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The full kitchen, cable TV, and ceiling fans met all our needs, and the king-size bed ensured restful nights. The open layout maximizes ocean views, blending indoor comfort with the stunning surroundings.Access to shared amenities—heated pool, hot tub, and BBQ area—elevated the experience. Nearby beaches, shopping, and dining in Kailua-Kona were easily accessible, yet the lanai’s serenity kept us anchored. The vibrant sunsets and starry nights left us refreshed.The oceanfront lanai and relaxed vibe made this a memorable retreat. We left recharged and eager to return.

Great location

The location of the condominium complex was perfect for visiting the Big Island. This unit was adequate for visiting. Slightly disappointed with the fact that we had to purchase towels for our children to enjoy the pool as well as the ocean in front of the Condominium (which we left for future guests). This unit was slightly dated and lacked any type of hooks or locations to hang wet swimsuits. We also had an amazing experience with the complex staff when it came to a metal strip in the floor that had come undone. The metal strip cut one of my wife’s toes. When I contacted the complexes office the maintenance person arrived almost immediately. The repair was handled the next day once they had the appropriate items to make the repair.

Great Location - Turtle viewing at your lanai

This was a fine place to stay and relax. On site staff was prompt and helpful resolving a few small issues on arrival. We had read the old reviews and previous posts about the carpet condition and dresser, although we mistakenly assumed these items were attended to. We had to wear our shoes due to the stained, crusty and overall unfortunate carpet. The dresser in the closet remained unusable, (smells horrid). Owners might take a visit and review these things as well as the kitchenware situation. So, many, wine glasses, only 2 bowls (1 plastic) and 2 salad plates. That being said, there were necessary dinner plates and glassware as well as numerous other kitchenware items were pleasant to have. We would stay again if the flooring was replaced and the dresser removed. Bonus was having 2 beach chairs and boogie boards!

The place was everything we needed. Nice patio and nice to have beach equipment. It is a long walk to restaurants and shops from the location if you don’t have a vehicle.

Beautiful beach view but needs upgrades

we have stayed at Kona Bali Kai several times and the ocean view from the Lani is breathtaking. However this unit is in need of upgrades. the couch is so worn the foam is showing thru the cushions. and the chest of drawers has a terrible smell. The condo was clean kudos to the cleaners

Wonderful Place

Not the fanciest place on the island, but exactly what we were expecting. The place was clean and comfortable. Big selling point should be the location!! You can’t get any closer to the beach than this, and the view was astonishing!

Beautiful place that needs an upgrade

The view and being 40 feet from the ocean. Yet, it could use some serious upgrade. How about 2 lounge chairs on the lanai. The mirrors in the main room are so old part of them or black. I had to wash all my clothes because the chest of drawers in the bedroom stunk. One of the showers was out of commission. One of the siding glass door to the lanai could hardly be opened or closed. And yet, all in all, it was worth it. The view, the ocean, the sound of the waves. Heaven!
