We chose this property from the photos and description on their site. The furniture shown and described did not exist. The cleaning process described did not exist. The walls were not clean. The woodwork was not clean. The walls and woodwork were in dire need of fresh paint. The air conditioner added as an afterthought did not cool the space below 82 degrees after multiple hours running. The front door frame appeared to have been forced open and not repaired. The interior front door lock was covered with duct tape. The secondary security lock was broken. We chose not to stay and contacted the owner and VRBO with our dissatisfaction and feelings of having been duped by the owners description of the property. The owner was not receptive to our report and contradicted each of our complaints. The owner agreed to refund our money. Five days later the owner has not issued a refund and continues to respond with confusing messages concerning the refund. VRBO has promised to review our claim and has “escalated” this process. We have received no further response from VRBO even after multiple phone calls to VRBO customer service. We have sent photos to the owner and VRBO documenting our experience. BUYER BEWARE! has never meant more. We have used VRBO multiple times. Thankfully, this is the only time we have encountered a fraudulent misrepresentation of a rental property. Fortunately, we were able to find a hotel nearby with availability or we had no where to stay.
