Entire Traditional House for Rent—Babies Welcome—Designated as an Important Traditional Building by the Agency for Cultural Affairs—135 Years Old
Why not experience life in a Japanese satoyama village at this traditional farmhouse, designated as an Important Traditional Building by the national government? Although you’ll have the entire house to yourselves, the owner’s family lives next door, so please feel free to come as if you were visiting a relative’s home. We look forward to meeting you all. ▼Check-in (from 3:00 PM) Check-in is generally conducted in person. *Please note that starting in July 2026, check-in may be conducted remotely due to the birth of twins and childcare responsibilities. We will do our best to stop by and say hello during your stay. You may park your car in front of the house. ▼Check-out (until 9:30 AM) *Early check-in (from 9:00 AM) and late check-out (until 4:00 PM) are available free of charge, provided there are no guests arriving or departing before or after your stay, and the owner’s schedule permits. Please let us know if you’d like to arrange this.Since weekends tend to fill up quickly, we would appreciate it if you could consider these options as a bonus rather than a guarantee. ▼ Shopping: There are no places to buy groceries within walking distance. We recommend checking store hours and making your purchases before check-in. The nearest supermarket is about a 10-minute drive away, and convenience stores and drugstores are about a 12-minute drive away. ▼Free Amenities: Bath towels, face towels, toothbrushes (with toothpaste), shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hair dryer, tissues, makeup remover & facial cleanser, toner, moisturizer ▼Kitchen Amenities: ・Refrigerator, freezer, gas stove (2 burners), rice cooker, microwave, toaster oven, kettle, pots, frying pans, kettle, kitchen knives, cutting board, measuring spoons, measuring cups, digital scale, kitchen timer, tongs, spatula, ladle, etc. ・Tableware such as rice bowls, plates, and chopsticks. We plan to make it usable in the future. For guests staying with infants, we keep the lid closed to prevent falls. ▼To Guests Traveling with Children: We know how exhausting it is to juggle housework and childcare day in and day out—you truly deserve a break. To help you travel light and enjoy a comfortable, worry-free stay, we provide baby supplies and other amenities at no additional charge. Depending on your child’s age, we’ll prepare the essentials you’ll need during your stay in advance. We’ll need to know your child’s age, so we’d appreciate it if you could reply with that information. Below are some recommended activities and services for children. ・Playing in the well water or strolling through the garden to interact with insects and flowers is a lot of fun. ・There is a river just a 5-minute walk away that is safe and enjoyable for toddlers and younger children. ・We provide traditional Japanese wooden toys and picture books. ・For children up to 2 years old, we provide baby-sized futons; for children 3 years and older, we provide the same futons as for adults. (Please note that the number of baby futons is limited, so we may not be able to provide one for every child.) ・We provide toothbrushes for children 1 year and older. ▼Located in a nature-rich area. Since we’re surrounded by forests, you may occasionally encounter insects and other wildlife. We hope you’ll embrace these encounters as part of your experience of rural mountain life. Until 2023, I worked as a social studies teacher at a junior high school in Chiba Prefecture. In search of a better environment for raising children, I moved to Ishikawa Prefecture. I also have 15 years of experience leading nature-based activities in Nagano Prefecture, and I hope to use that experience to help ensure you have a wonderful stay. Once the inn’s operations are fully established, I plan to offer guests a variety of experiences, such as nature activities and agricultural workshops.I hope that through this traditional Japanese house, “Yunagi,” guests will be able to appreciate nature and culture and create many memories, and I am committed to contributing to the revitalization of the Higashitani district. I would be delighted if you made this your go-to inn and grew to love this area.To that end, I plan to provide friendly service, treating you just as I would a friend. *All travel times are by car (calculated using Google Maps).
