Ground floor worked well for us, and enjoyed easy access to pools, beach. Location is good, a nice food truck park and other stores nearby.

Amazing place and location

Very clean, spacious, comfortable. Kitchen only has oil, salt, pepper, so bring your own spices, condiments, etc.

It was a smooth and easy process. We weren't sure what to expect but absolutely loved the unit and it was quick and easy to get things we needed from the property manager.

Beautiful property. COVID controls a sad joke.

Guests walking the through the hotel maskless like “dare you to call me out”, bell desk staff maskless until you approach them. Servers maskless. If anyone at the hotel was going to get sick, wouldn’t it be the maskless servers interacting closely with maskless guests, touching their drinks and food. They are outside, yes, but what part of Global Respiratory Pandemic do they not understand? Very sad.

Just ok

Needs a good cleaning. Nice pools and staff. Having Dukes on property a bonus. Hard to get a hold of manager. Air conditioner in one unit didn’t work very well.

Best room yet

Stayed at Honua Kai many times. This room was by far our favorite. Loved the ground floor room and walking off the lania onto the grass (which my kids love playing in) with easy access to the pool. Upgraded kitchen was really nice. Hoping to come back never year and stay in Kona room 149 again

nice property....

Layout of condo was really good. area rugs seemed a little warn, master bath tile floor was not clean. Many small cockroaches in kitchen, management says that was normal for ground floor units(not in my book). Beach narrow and steep. Four year old granddaughter loved the water slide. Property is a little isolated, only one restaurant on property for hundreds of people, food trucks nearby were godsend. Bring your own cooler cup for beverages around pool area as your own beverages are not allowed, as Dukes controls drinks there. The sundry stores served great coffee and treats and staff was very friendly

The perfect home away from home for our large family

We could not have been happier with our stay here! We have a large family and we all felt at home and comfortable, as we each had our own space in beautifully appointed bedrooms. The living areas were large and open and just as comfortable so we could all be together, whether is was for breakfast or game night! Being on the ground floor was a plus as well, especially with two children and it extended our living space tremendously. This also made the access to the pools, beach, etc. so easy. The cleanliness was above par, and as someone with a background in hospitality, I was very impressed. Above all however, was the SERVICE from Maui Resort Rentals ... they met our every need and were always 100% responsive with authentic Aloha spirit. We can't wait to return and HIGHLY recommend!!!

Great family vacation spot

Honua Kai is a great family vacation spot. 149 has no view of the ocean but the walk out first floor unit is perfect for children. A view of the ocean is only a few steps away. 149 is spacious and just right for our family. Plenty of room for 5 adults and 2 small children. The pool is kid friendly and Duke's will deliver drinks and food. The beach boardwalk is steps away from the property and provides a great walk or run along the beach.

We loved the Honua Kai and the suite we stayed in.

The Honua Kai was the perfect vacation for our family and the ground floor suite was a great fit for our small children to come and go from the suite. All around a great experience for us.

Condo was great. Very convenient location as far as checking out local beaches.

The overall property was really nice. Really liked the ground level unit we stayed in and the easy access to the pools and beach. Great valet service, attendants were very friendly and helpful. Definitely would stay here again if we returned.

Honua Kai

We had a real good time staying at Honua Kai and visiting Maui. Myself, 3 older teenagers and Dad had plenty of room and really enjoyed the property. Everything was just as advertised. Definitely worth it and I highly recommend it. Property managers were in contact with us in case we needed anything, but never had to since everything was very well updated.

Our second stay in two years. Our family of kids And grandkids really love the place.

The 2 Honua Kai condos we stayed at within 2 years (right next to each other) had the three bedrooms and bathrooms we needed and with all the amenities inside and out -- and on the ground floor. Walking right out to the pools and being so close to the ocean was a kids paradise!

outstanding place to stay in Maui!

We spent five nights in this beautiful condo in a great location in Maui and wish we could have stayed longer. The building is top class with a beautiful entrance, lobby and bellmen/valet parking attendants. The three bedroom/three bathroom condo exceeded our expectations! There were four of us, but we could have easily slept 6 adults and more with children. The first floor location was ideal as we were just steps away to the lushous pools and lounge chairs. Our adult children rented a cabana for a day and enjoyed drinks served by courteous attendants. The beach was only a short walk also, and while it is a narrow strip of sand, it is still a great place to lounge or walk or play. We made reservation for the first night we were there for Dukes, which is located near the water and draws a crowd from these condos and others in the area. We had an excellent meal there. We did not go back again as we went to several others on the island including The Plantation which is located on a golf course-again great food in a lovely location. Maui is a beautiful vacation spot, and the Honua Kai is the perfect spot to relax and/or to use as a home base for the many activities to be enjoyed on the island. Our daughter is already planning her next trip with her girlfriends and will definitely stay here. Aloha!

Excellent property for week stay in Maui

This three bedroom, ground floor property fully met our expectations and in some ways exceeded them. The property has been well maintained and comes with a well equipped kitchen for those who want to cook in during their stay. We were 6 adults and really enjoyed the ground floor, easy access to the pools and beach. Beach chairs and towels are provided. Although there is no ocean view, the lush foliage around the lanai is very attractive. We also enjoyed being in the Konea building with its fitness center and spa. The Honua Kai property actually had more amenities than we were expecting which was a pleasant surprise. We used the concierge to schedule a snorkeling trip and for restaurant suggestions. Valet parking is very convenient. We found the management company very easy to work with. Even though we arrived at the property quite late, after management representatives had left for the day, a call to them upon our arrival on the island was all we needed to do to have them arrange for us to access the unit and our arrival "kits" were waiting for us in the condo. We found everything self explanatory and didn't need any assistance. I wouldn't hesitate to return to this particular condo.

Our stay with Maui resort rentals was excellent!!!

Our experience was great. They were alway only a phone call away and very helpful with advice and answering any questions we had. I would highly reccomend their services for anyone traveling to the island with needs for accommodations and tips for what to do and where to go on the island. We have small children and they were very accommodating with them as well. We are making his an annual trip and will absolutely be booking with Maui resort rentals again!!
