Fabulous!
We both enjoyed the Treehouse inside and out. The views were magnificent. Weather was great. It was neat to see the fog come down and sweep past us during the storm the last night there! It’s so quiet and peaceful. Everyone in town was marvelous and the town restaurants were delicious too! Our favorite part…the 91 steps up and down! LOL You do get used to them and keeps your weight down! Oh and also the enormous pine cones! We don’t have them that size here in Delaware! We would definitely stay here again if we make it back! Thank you for such and cute little cabin and all the history on the walls!

Cabin/tree house
The cabin/treehouse was wonderful, relaxing and a place to enjoy the views and nature. This was one of my bucket list thing s I wanted to do. I turned 65 this year and my daughter gave me a gift card to go to a treehouse. I was worried about the stairs, but I just had to go. It was everything i want it, just perfect.

Perfect Cabin Getaway
This place was even better than advertised. My wife and I loved everything about it and would stay here again in a heartbeat. The property was very private, the cabin was very cozy, the hot tub was awesome, and the view was incredible!

Relaxing Getaway!!
We really enjoyed our stay! Beautiful outdoor patio areas, fully stocked amenities, very clean, and quiet. Rick and Maria were very friendly and attentive to our needs. Really enjoyed walking into the cabin with music playing, lights low, chocolates, and a thoughtful card!! Well done!! We definitely recommend and look forward to staying again!!

The View House with a Tree Deck
It's actually a tree deck not a tree house, but the view was beautiful and we ate on the tree deck and enjoyed the lake and birds. The house was clean, quiet and quant. The internet and cell service was great. We would definitely go back!

Into the Woods
Perfect name for this perfect location. Owner provided everything we could possibly need. Weather wasn't the best as we went during rainy season but we will return to enjoy the deck and surroundings. Cozy, very comfortable and glorious view. We enjoyed discovering the additional and secret places dotted around the property.

lovely views
This property is great for a romantic getaway. There are some nice lake views and a secluded feel. The kitchen is one of the nicest I've seen in a vacation rental. We brought our own groceries and cooked our own meals. I will mention here that it is about a 20 minute drive to Julian. The house is a good size for 2 or 3 people, There are some nice areas outside to hang out in, which we didn't do because it was cold during our stay, but during warmer weather would be great. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing getaway

This property rental will not disappoint. It was setup perfectly for a stay in the woods and lake. Lots of outdoor seating, very clean and Maria, the coordinator, was unmistakably the most attentive person we've dealt with by far. A big win.

Peaceful and beautiful
The view from this cabin was amazing. This cabin was so beautiful and relaxing. I loved the historical pictures of the cabin that were on the wall. Very quiet also. The house and jacuzzi were very clean. We found a great restaurant on the lake because Julian was way too crowded to even park. My only minor complaint is that we both thought that the pillows were uncomfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Hi Christi, We are glad you had a good time at the cabin. You came to visit at the peak of Apple Days such is probably one of the busies time of the year in Julian; families gather to take their kids to the orchards and to have the full apple pie experience. The Pub at Cuyamaca Lake restaurant is the closest to our cabin and it's great! Is one of the few we recommend and it's inside our Information Binder at the cabin, available to all of our guest during their stay. Very happy to hear you both enjoyed the Pub at Cuyamaca :) We have a selection of pillows for our guests to chose from inside our linens cabinet located in the laundry room; from soft to firm, from big and small. Great Getaway!

Still Our Favorite
This remains our favorite place to stay in Julian. The outside deck provides isolation with a beautiful view of the trees, hills, and lake beyond. Into The Woods is always clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The perfect location for a relaxing getaway.

Amazing stay!
Absolutely loved this treehouse! I stayed with my partner and son(almost 2 years old) and each one of us had an amazing time! My son loved walking up the stairs and exploring the hidden trails and forest area. I loved that it was so well thought out, every detail was considered. I felt like my son was safe every step of the way. None of the trails were too steep, the treehouse even felt safe for him to explore! He loved walking across the bridge to the treehouse. We enjoyed every meal on the treehouse which was lovely and peaceful and had incredible views. The first night the stars were so bright and beautiful they looked close enough to touch! The second night a fog set in but it was still beautiful to spend time in the cabin. I really appreciated the thank you card, coffee and complimentary coffee cake we were provided when we arrived. The host Rick and administrator Maria were so attentive and answered every message within minutes. Every moment of the stay felt thoughtful and intentional. Overall I absolutely LOVED our stay and hope to come back.

Book it!
Loved the treehouse. Took my husband here to celebrate our anniversary and to view the meteor shower. Turned out to be the perfect location for both! The treehouse was relaxing. We had coffee on the deck nestled into the trees with a great view of the lake while listening to birds and squirrels, took a trip into town to visit the wolf conservation center followed by dinner, returned for a sunset jacuzzi followed by watching the meter shower in the dark sky from the lounge chairs from the “observatory” area. Perfect weekend!

Anniversary getaway
This is our 4th stay with this Vrbo management office (1st at this location) and as always it does not disappoint!! Both Rick and Maria have been helpful and accommodating at every single stay we’ve had in every step of the process ❤️. This is our 4th stay thus far (guaranteed more to come) and they have remembered us every trip. They left us a thoughtful card this trip and even an apple pie in the fridge! It was so thoughtful and personal. Summer Solstice Lake Cuyamaca Dream Vacation
They have thought of everything, wish we could have stayed longer and hope to come again in the Fall. Gorgeous property with manicured nature trails right off the door stoop that sparked daughter’s imagination with fairy trails and squirrel castles. I was able to bird and saw loads in acorn woodpeckers and even a bald eagle fly by! The warm welcome, cleanliness, and ease of check-in was top notch. What a special haven they have created, can’t wait to come back.

Nice isolated vacation
During these times I don't want to spend any more time around people outside my family than I have to. This place seemed perfect: isolated, nice kitchen so we don't have to go out to eat, on an acre. The kitchen is great and well stocked with plenty of pots and pans. There is even a hand held mixer. Outside there are some short trails, and the deck/tree house is very nice. You can sit out there and enjoy the lake view or at night stargaze. We only had a few issues. The bathroom is about as far from the bedroom as you can get without leaving the house. I typically get up two or three times a night to use the restroom so I did not find this ideal. The internet is spotty and also there is apparently a monthly allowance, so bring dvds. They have it set up so you can easily hook up a game console, but there isn't an extra outlet to plug it into. If this is something you plan to do consider bringing an extension cord. The bottom line is that you can't rely on internet here so plan. Download things at home and bring your own movies. We would stay here again

This was just the place we needed. Cozy, intimate, and quiet with beautiful mountain and lake views. Very close to Julian for dining/shopping, but far enough away to feel like you are more remote. We loved it.

Spectacular Home
My husband and I spent a few days here to relax and celebrate our wedding anniversary. We loved it! The owner made the whole process really simple. We were so happy to arrive and find the home super clean and very cozy. It really felt like we were away from everything in a delightful tree house -- the views from all over the property were amazing! We're looking forward to returning!

A Wonderful Experience
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Into the Woods! This was my first vacation ever where I did not have a preset schedule and just wanted to relax. It's definitely something my wife and I both needed, especially with the added stress of living through a global pandemic. From the moment we parked the car and stepped outside, I knew this was going to be a relaxing trip. The sound of the wind rolling over the hills and the sight of the sun rays through the trees gave an instant feeling of tranquility. The cabin is well-kept with a kitchen that easily had everything we needed for meal prep. We stopped at the grocery store on the way over and got everything we needed for the weekend. The only reason we left the property was to drive to Julian to pick up a pie. The house has great climate control and was comfortable even when the outside temperature reached the high 90s. There are many fantastic viewpoints of the surrounding areas. Our favorite view was from the treehouse deck where we saw excellent sunsets and enjoyed a sightline through the hills until visibility reached zero. I loved going out on this deck in the morning to watch the woodpeckers, Steller's jays, hawks, hummingbirds and all the other wildlife that happened to be passing through the area. Stargazing from this deck was also very fun and we saw several shooting stars. I easily could have spent all night out there, but we wanted to make sure to enjoy the hot tub each night. I recommend setting the temperature to 100-102 degrees a few hours before use and keep the hot tub covered to ensure proper heating. This trip has encouraged me to take more trips to the woods and seek out more restful opportunities on vacations opposed to my usual highly planned-out schedule of events. We hope to return soon!

Engaged at Into The Woods!
We had THE most romantic and wonderful weekend at Into the Woods. When we first arrived a beautiful deer ran right through the backyard- I knew it was a good omen! We came up to celebrate 6 years together and just enjoy some peace in the mountains. We were thrilled with how perfectly appointed and clean the cabin was. The surrounding trees and views were breathtaking. We loved making nightly dinners in the well stocked kitchen and sitting on the deck outside for a glass of wine to watch the sunset over the lake. We toured downtown Julian and went on a gold mine tour. Then on our last day we decided to hike Stonewall Peak Trail. A beautiful hike from start to finish! Little did I know that at the top my love would drop to one knee and ask me to marry him! We will never forget our time at Into the Woods and hope to be back to reminisce our very special engagement. Big thanks to Rick for making everything so easy, professional and memorable!

True gem!
This place is one to be seen. The reality is even better than the pictures on the listing. Spotless property, furnishings plentiful and modern. Clear instructions for check in and appliance use. The outside treehouse deck was glorious with a lovely view through the trees. We loved our stay very much - apologies for being a little late leaving - sprained my ankle that morning! Beautiful getaway
This cottage was cozy and wonderful! The property was great, hosts were super helpful, the views were spectacular and the jacuzzi was fabulous. We loved having the nice kitchen to cook in, laundry amenities, and the original fireplace. When we got there, host had put on relaxing music and left us a delicious pie and coffee! Now that we've had a springtime visit with snow, we can't wait to go back during the summer to really enjoy the treehouse and stargazing.

Wonderful
We live in Carlsbad Ca just about an hour away from this house. Our family of 4 came out for a Covid 19 vacation. We had a wonderful time! The house is truly in the mountains with wonderful views and privacy. We made every meal in the house and the kitchen was new and had everything. Everyday we did the same thing over and over: morning coffee and news on the 70 inch tv, hike either down to the lake or to the top of the hill, played games after lunch, family hottub for sunset and a movie as a night cap. We wont forget the deck off the living room it truly a tree house deck with amazing views. We will for sure be retuning to this cabin! Thanks again!

Excellent in every way
Hard to know where to begin - it's CLEAN which makes a huge difference in a stay anywhere. The treehouse deck, the views, the location - absolutely perfect. Understand there are 91 steps up to the house, but if you know that going in you'll be fine. LOVE LOVE LOVE that there are window coverings. Many of these types of vacation rentals do not have them. This is our third stay in a property owned by this company and we can't recommend them highly enough.

Needed getaway
We found out three weeks ago that my girlfriend has a brain tumor. With much deliberation, mostly because of the Coronavirus, we decided to go up to the treehouse. Wonderful decision! It was peaceful and calming to be there just what we needed!!

Lovely retreat
Clean, very comfortable and well-appointed cabin in a peaceful setting in the woods with nice decks for viewing the lake. Excellent night-sky gazing from the pristine hot tub. Nice drive to Borrego Springs and Anza Borrego State Park. Good communication with property managers. Would definitely stay here again.

A Cute Getaway
We stayed in the "Into the Woods" cabin for a short weekend getaway with our 3 teenage children. We had an enjoyable time, but it was cramped with 5 people. If I went back I would most likely only take my spouse with me. The cabin was very clean and the tree house deck was fun to spend time on with my family. There are a good number of stairs you must climb in order to get from your vehicle to the cabin, so if stair climbing in higher altitudes is not your thing then you may want to look elsewhere. You do have neighbors on both sides and across the street, but you do get the feeling of separation with all of the trees and the neighbors are not too close. The trails on the property are not long, but if you have younger children they will probably love to play on them. There is a nice TV with a great sound system. There is cable and a blue ray player. There is a spa, but we could not figure out how to get it to warm up past a luke warm temperature. The location is close. It is just a quick drive down the hill to Lake Cuyamaca and 10-12 minutes to the heart of Julian. My only disappointment was hoping there would be more trails on the property. I was hoping to have more room to explore, but there were 4 different deck areas to spend time on, so you can always find a quiet place if you have more than a couple people there. There is no bathtub, just a shower, but the water pressure is good and we never ran out of hot water. The bed was comfortable and my kids had no complaints about the sofa bed, or the roll away beds. It was overall a nice getaway.

Thank you for your review. We checked Spa. It is working properly... We generally change Spa water and clean filters after each Guest stay. It takes about 4-5 hours for fresh new Spa water to heat up to full temperature. There is no way to speed up that time period. Thank you. Kindest Regards, -Rick Dyer, manager.

Beautiful location
We loved our stay here. Great views overlooking Lake Cuyamaca, and a short drive to Julian or Cuyamaca hiking trails, etc. The treehouse deck is a great place for morning coffee or an afternoon drink. Clean and well-maintained.

Great Anniversary get away
House was a great place to get away for our anniversary. Cute place and very private. Amazing property with great views. We had a great time and will def stay again.
