The Space:

Free Bird is a new-build home in Joshua Tree designed around an integrated indoor-outdoor living room, where a covered room with woven pendants, an outdoor fireplace and a smart TV opens straight onto the yard. Inside, dark wood cabinetry, cognac leather, white globe pendants and a linear fireplace wall keep things warm and modern. The fully fenced property holds an in-ground pool with a hot tub, a pickleball court and plenty of places to lounge. Two bedrooms, each with a king bed, and two bathrooms suit couples traveling together and small groups who want to spend most of their time outdoors.

-Outdoor Amenities-

Get a game going on the pickleball court while the morning is still cool, then cool off in the in-ground pool. Claim one of the four sun tanning chairs, or an egg chair at the water's edge, with a saguaro standing guard over the yard. Everything sits inside the fully fenced property, so you can leave the doors open and drift between the house and the pool all day.



At night, gather on the outdoor sectional under the covered patio by the outdoor fireplace and put a favorite show on the outdoor smart TV. When the fire burns low, move to the propane fire pit beside the pool, then slip into the hot tub for stargazing. A BBQ grill and outdoor seating make it easy to stay outside through dinner.



-Living Area-

Prop the sliding doors open in the morning and see if anyone closes them before bed. The indoor-outdoor living room, with woven pendants, a sectional and the outdoor fireplace, is the heart of the home. Indoors, sink into the cognac leather sofa or a sling chair beneath a woven pendant, with a linear fireplace wall and an indoor smart TV for movie nights.



-Kitchen and Dining-

Dark wood cabinetry and an island lit by pendants make the kitchen easy to cook in and easy to hang around. Set the long dining table beneath its white globe pendants, pull up the leather chairs and keep the meal going, or carry plates out to the patio and fire up the BBQ grill.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Free Bird has two bedrooms, each with a king bed, and two bathrooms. One bedroom has brass pendants and sliding doors straight out to the yard, and the other has woven pendants and a clothing rack. The bathrooms are clean and modern, with vessel sinks, round mirrors, a glass shower and a vanity facing a desert window.



-Surrounding Area-

Free Bird is close to downtown Joshua Tree's cafés, galleries and shops, and Joshua Tree National Park is there for hiking, climbing and scenic drives. Pioneertown and La Copine in Flamingo Heights are within reach, and Palm Springs makes a day trip.



Guest Access:

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.



The Neighborhood:

Free Bird sits on a fully fenced lot reached by paved roads, about 7 minutes from Joshua Tree, with cell phone coverage.



Below are travel times to nearby shops, bars, eateries and attractions:

Getting Around:

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



There are no dirt roads on the way to Free Bird.



Other Things to Note:

-House-Specific Rules-

► Please keep music at a reasonable volume and turn it off by the start of quiet hours.

► Please rinse off oils and lotions before entering, keep the cover on when not in use, and no drinking in the hot tub, please.



-Pool Heating Fee-

Should you wish to have the pool heated to 85 degrees, please notify us in advance of your arrival, as there will be a supplemental charge per day for this service due to high fuel costs in this area. If you'd like the pool heated for multiple days, we ask that days be consecutive to conserve energy, thank you! Pool heating is not usually necessary May through September. Please note that we will need at least 24 hours' notice to heat the pool.



► $300 first night, $200 each night after



During the winter months, please be aware that colder outdoor temperatures may cause the pool to feel cooler than its maintained temperature of 85°F. We kindly ask that you ensure this temperature meets your comfort level before submitting a request, as refunds cannot be issued on this basis.



-Hot Tub Heating-

No fee to heat the hot tub! Please note that because the hot tub is an in-ground hot tub, it is not heated constantly in order to conserve energy. It will take around 30 minutes to heat to 104 degrees from ambient temperature.



-Pool and Hot Tub Service-

The pool and hot tub are serviced Mondays and Thursdays, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.



-Pet Policy-

We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed due to the owner's severe allergy.

-Wildlife & Safety-

The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.



-Security Camera-

For your security, there is an exterior camera located at the driveway, which monitors vehicles and occupancy. There are no cameras inside the home or facing any private areas, including the pool and hot tub areas.



-Cell Service-

Cell phone coverage is available at the property, though reception can vary by carrier.



-Damage Waiver Policy-

Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver.
