We absolutely enjoyed our stay this past weekend. Everything in the listing of Reel Life was amazing. The beds were comfortable, the backyard fire pit was great, and we enjoyed watching the wildlife that sat just behind the fence watching us. Jekyll Island at Christmas time was beautiful and we plan to stay again!

The house layout was great for our family- master bed and bath as well as three rooms for kids and second bath. Backyard was lovely and we enjoyed the firepit. Appreciated having a washer and dryer. Great location on the island! The grill and bikes listed were not usable though. They need replaced or fixed. There was a strong unpleasant smell, especially in one room- not sure if it was from cleaning or musty mildew.

We would not hesitate to stay here again if we ever travel back to Jekyll Island! We had a full house and had plenty of space, even on a rainy day with all of us inside. While we preferred the beaches on the southern portion of the island, this house is just down the road from the amazing Driftwood Beach.

We loved our stay at Reel Life! We actually stayed here 8 years ago, in the same house. We loved the updates to the home. We will definitely be back!
Backyard, we loved watching the deer!
Our deer friends! One of the highlights of our stay was deer watching!
Driftwood Beach is my favorite! Not far from the house.

Reel Life is a great cottage!

We enjoyed our stay at Reel Life cottage. The bedrooms were perfect for us (master with king separate from the other 3 bedrooms and bathroom. The living space was adequate. It was nice to have beach towels and linens. The backyard was my favorite. I sat outside every morning drinking coffee and watching the deer. The only disappointment was the bikes. There were 5 in the picture, but only 2-3 worked (one without a pedal). There was a carrier to drag kids behind the bikes, but a part was missing. We LOVED the firepit and enjoyed the house. We also enjoyed swimming at the hotel.

Quick 4th of July Getaway

House was easy to find and decorated nicely. It was clean upon arrival and had everything specified in the description. It was plenty large enough for our group of parents and kids. The house has a great back yard where the kids played and we grilled out. We saw deer daily in the yard which the kids loved. The house is a short walk to the beach but the stairs leading to the beach are not wagon friendly. The beach was beautiful and we basically had ot to ouselves the whole trip. Access to a local hotel pool was nice for the kids to swim, you will want to drive there though. The owner was easy to contact and responded quickly when needed. We always enjoy visiting Jekyll island and would stay here again.

Excellent value for a large family

This is the fifth property we've stayed at on Jekyll over the past 5 years and the best value overall. Location is excellent with an easy walk to the beach anytime other than high tide. The property is fenced and several bikes were provided, making the stay very comfortable for our large family who brought along our dog. The living / dining / kitchen is adequate for a large group but worth the tradeoff to have 7 different beds (four bunks, one queen, two king) which made sleeping for our large group very comfortable. The property manager was great. Check-in and check-out were easy. The property was clean. We love Jekyll and would gladly stay here again on our next visit.

Loved our weekend stay at Reel Life. It was a wonderful place for our family- with short distance to the beach/ short drive to places to explore. The backyard was so nice for kids to play or relax . Would love to come back soon

We enjoyed our stay.

Reel Life Cottage gets our 5 star review. We have seldom enjoyed a rental that was better outfitted for our needs and comfort. General: cottage is lovely, easy to find, easy to get into, immaculate, comfortable and contained an abundance of towels, pillows and the like. Everything was found to be in perfect working order, with the amusing exception of the two large bedroom fan/lights in different bedrooms both responding to both remotes! Luckily, we didn’t need the fans, so we just used wall switches for the lights. Notes for prospective renters: 1. The coffee maker at the time of our visit is a dual drip/Keurig. We brought refillable k-cups and they worked great to let us use the coffee of our choice. 2. Municipal water is less than wonderful, so we bought bottled water. 3. There were few options for sealed storage for meal leftovers. 4. While there are 4 bikes available for use, at the time of our visit, two appeared to be rather unusable and all looked to be in need of maintenance. We had anticipated that likelihood and rented bikes in Savannah (brought with us a trunk rack for our rental car - highly recommend Savannah On Wheels!)

Could not have been better!

We are six friends, recently retired, and this house was ideal! It was exactly as described and perfect for us in every way: location, parking, bicycles, backyard, etc.Can't wait to rent it again next year!

Nice setup

Nice clean house. House is clean and well maintained. Backyard is great with plenty of seating and nice fire pit. Every room is equipped with a tv and living room has a lot of space. Only complaint is the fans in all rooms are remote however the remote works all of them so you turn one on, they all come on.

Missed Opportunity

This was a long awaited 40th birthday (for me) and 20th anniversary (for mom) combo family vacation that we've never had growing up. Unfortunately, hurricane Helene just wreaked havoc on our plans in the ability to make the drive to our stay. With a consistent week's communication of loads of sent evidence, and the understanding, assistance, and policy from VRBO, the host was kind enough to agree to reimburse us for the missed opportunity. We are hoping to try again soon.
