We found the house to be extremely hot on the night we arrived. The thermostat was set on 80, we arrived around 8:00pm, and it took until midnight for it to cool to 70 degrees. This house is tiny, about 1,000 square feet (although I do not know the exact footage to be fair), it should have cooled way down fairly fast but it took hours! We didn't say anything the first night but when it happened again the second night, we left for dinner and came back to a Hot house, 80 degrees again, and we were only gone for 2 1/2 hours, so my husband emailed the host about it. He said he would move the number to 75 and hopefully it would cool down. First of all, if the host gets to control the thermostat we're at their mercy as to what temperature we like it. At night, we like it 67-68 degrees and it only went to this number for just a very short time because if the system didn't sense you were there--even sitting in the living room watching tv--it would go back up to 80 and you would have to reset it and hope it would come down a little. The host said he would have someone come look at it but ended up telling us it would be the day after we left, which was No help to us at all.
Overall the house was clean and very nice. The furnishings are minimal, but adequate--though both my husband and I agree that the bed was very hard/firm. We were excited to see how a Purple mattress would sleep and now we know we won't be getting one.
